Been at this hotel several times, as it's walkable from our client. The hotel itself is nice and there are plenty of walkable places to eat, always a bonus. Rates aren't too bad considering it's DC. My down rate comes from the beds, as they were rock hard. It's just hard to sleep well on beds this hard.
Nice little place Nestled on a corner. Is a older building. They had a crazy tight corner parking garage. Very nice lobby they had quaint Dinner attached. Staff was nice. Accommodations were nice however the bed wasnt very comfy so 3 stars.
We stayed here for a long weekend. Free breakfast was a lie. It only applies to the first 2 guests.
When we called to book the room we were assured there were 2 queen beds and a pullout sofa. It turned out to be 2 full beds and no sofa. We asked for a cot. When I called 2 hours later to check on the cot, we were told there wasn't one on our floor. When I checked again 2 hours later, I was informed there was only 1 person on shift and it might be a while. It was already well after midnight. It finally showed after 1:30.
The breakfast buffet was decent. It wasn't anything special but there was plenty of it. It was way overpriced though. We put our 2 coupons in and asked for the correct price. It was corrected. Rather than fight over the bill we charged it to the room. Big mistake. They charged fees for the privilege, additional taxes, more fees, and added one more breakfast back to the original bill each day.
I confronted the manager when we checked out about the poor service and extra charges. He didn't budge and didn't care. Calling the corporate info center didn't do any better. They said it was a franchise and I would have to deal with them.
I'll never go back, or recommend, a Holiday Inn to anyone. Ever. This was the only blight on our entire trip.
This was a cozy, little (9 stories) place. Downstairs bar & restaurant with friendly staff. Nice, free coffee downstairs. Help yourself. Well situated in DC. Would recommend for singles, couples & families.
Parking was terrifying. The deck is tiny and difficult to get out of. One lane of traffic for both directions. You can find a safer, significantly cheaper lot nearby if you're willing to walk with your luggage. Bathroom was tiny and tight. Hotel food wasn't bad, but unimpressive. But all in all, I don't have complaints. I found the room comfortable and quiet and that's really all that I'm looking for in a hotel room.
Great location but an ageing property. Service standards as compared to Asian standards are very poor. Plastic glasses, door knobs not quite right and poor water pressure were some of the drawbacks. Still clean and efficient and well located.
Came back to the hotel around 1am after a football game. The doors were locked and no one was answering the intercoms. I began knocking on the glass and someone showed up at the front desk, motioning to the intercom. He asked my name and room number. I told him this information. He kept asking, and I kept repeating myself. This happened at least 20 times back and forth. He had a police officer armed with a pistol, assault rifle, and bulletproof vest come to the door and ask me to leave. I said I was absolutely not doing that, that I was a paying guest, and showed him my room key. He then allowed me to pass.
My daughter and I met my Mother in Washington for a small vacation. I normally don't write reviews, but our experience in this hotel was so fantastic I had to write about it.
From the time we checked in until we checked out the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. They were genuinely nice, the breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious each day, and the rooms were pleasantly clean. We will definitively stay here again when we come back next year, and I am recommending this Holiday Inn to everyone I know!

This hotel is great! You will be hard pressed to find nicer people preparing breakfast or supper, and the food is delicious, and there's lots of it. Housekeeping and check-in-and-out crew are nice, too. The rooms are fine and so is the bath area. Cleanliness everywhere. Stayed here twice and will be back again. Go and enjoy.
Clean place and a courteous staff. If you're tax exempt don't expect much help on that issue. Pretty well located just a block from 14th St which is restaurant row where there's tons of great eateries. Not close to any Metro station. Can still get a nice average sized hotel room for an OK price here.
Enjoyed every bit of the food and drinks served for diner during my stay there for 9 days. Quite a hospitable and welcoming staff- Rehna closely attended to our needs in the restaurant and her recommendations were great.
Location was great ..easy access to all the Washington DC sights. Room was good. . nice bed and a good size. Coffee maker in room as well as fridge and microwave.
We loved our stay here! It was so close to the mall and all the other places we wanted to visit- we were able to walk just about everywhere. The staff were all so sweet and friendly. The room was great too, especially for the price. The only complaint was that the pillows were terrible. No matter which ones we tried, we still woke up stiff and with bad headaches/neck pain.
I recently attended a seminar at this Holiday Inn. The rooms were perfect for the event. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were great. They went out of their way to assist me with some parking difficulty, although their parking is quite expensive. Also, the food from their restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.
