Very intimate place with well thought out designs. I just took a trip to the bathroom and i was in awe. The designer definitely had the guest in mind. As for the service, ill also give and A +. Not a place for people who don't like others around them having fun lol

Do you want a hipster hotel? Do you want an atmospheric hotel, a fun getaway? Maybe beautiful views of both the East Village and the West Village?

The Standard East Village will be one of your best choices for all of these. Always crowded, fun and with high quality hotel service. I was not happy with food in the hotel’s restaurants and the Café but you will enjoy the hotel. Have fun and please let me know!

The staff are great, the upper floor rooms have sweet views. Ours was the south east corner, which had great view over to Brooklyn that were worth staying in bed for. The garden set up is cute, recommend the 'hot hard cider' to warm up an Autumn afternoon.

Luxury hipster is how I would describe this hotel. Amazing service, and a gorgeous, unique building. I loved the view from my room, and the shower is incredible. They have a steam shower setup, so enjoy it. :) Very considerate of them to provide earplugs, though I did not need them at all and found my room very quiet. Minibar totally stocked with /everything/ you might want. Breakfast options are ok, but somewhat limited.

I didn't think much of the room at first glance, that is until we got to the next hotelthen I realized it was pretty great. Excellent customer service at the front desk. Clean room, hip looking setup, good location, decent views. My only complaint was the fridge was stocked with overpriced stuff I didn't want, and as a result there was no room in there to keep the leftover beer and pizza I bought. A minor slight, so it we'll definitely give this place another go in the future.

Hip and nostalgic boutique hotel in Manhattan. Depicts the Manhattan of yesterday yet hums to the drum of modernity. Hip and luxurious!

Bathrooms are an adventure down a long and windy corridor. The hotel is surrounded by three distinct restaurant spaces. I've eaten in all three and enjoy them all for various occasions. Have not stayed overnight. Friendly and helpful staff

Want to give this place 5-stars, it's just not happening. There are a lot of good things about this place - great location, bar is open late, the garden's a great place to lounge, and it's strange/funky/fun which I think are all wonderful things.

Two less stars because we didn't get the room we paid full price for and the staff didn't seem to care. To the hotel's defense, they let us check in early. The two men checking us in said that a room was available for us, but didn't say that it was over 100 sq feet smaller than the room we paid full price for and that the room they could put us in was on a lower floor. No one followed up with us after to make sure we were happy, and the staff didn't seem to care about how satisfied hotel guests were. When we brought it up, they said something like "sorry, the 10th floor is different than our other floors." How were we supposed to know that?

We stayed 4 nights - had a nice view, but not the floor to ceiling windows or large king suite that we really looked forward to and paid for.

The message here is it's a cool property, but you'll need to be very proactive about managing your stay because the majority of the staff could care less about keeping you satisfied. Also, there were multiple staff members with poor attitudes - it honestly seemed as though they thought they were too cool to be doing their job. There's enough rudeness and arrogance in the world - I don't expect to have to face it in the hotel.

Just overall really bad customer service. The only saving grace were the housekeeping staff - they were nice, attentive, and pleasant.

It's a great little place located quite centrally. The staff seem friendly, but not very competent, I am afraid. I had a package shipped to the hotel: after giving them my name, the time the package will arrive and my contact information, I had to spend over an hour providing the same information over and over again. Seems like something this easy should not be that hard to organize.

Went to the bar on the North side for the first time. Really nice and quieter than the other side. The bartender made some excellent drinks.

Loved the room and area. There are great restaurants and bars in walking distance. The room had a great view with staff at the hotel being very helpful.

It was a small room. I just stayed there because my friend had reserved the room and it was closer than my apartment. I was just there to sleep, and my friend had no idea it had more of a.. Weird romance vibe. It was interesting to experience but I probably wouldn't stay again

This was our first stay at any Standard. The staff was very nice, the hotel is very hip and trendy and has a cool cafe and a restaurant. If you are visiting for business or pleasure in this area its a nice place to stay.

The Standard is trendy without being pretentious. Let's say it's up to date and offers delicious meals and novel dining options. Sitting in a heated tent-like fixture while wearing complimentary fur coats was the highlight of my day. The Standard makes you feel good, and is total worth a try

Great winter garden bar. What could be better than sitting in a tepee have some drinks with your colleagues? Good bar service and menu.
