Huge groundsI got lost each time I left the condo. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Lack of signs for exits. Beds were comfortable but the pillows were not so comfyvery hard and lumpy. The condo we were in was musty smelling. The 2 lights in the living room area didn't work. Couldn't find any pot holders to take things out of the oven. Overallit was a great get away but I'm not fussy!! Shower was clean and great hot water. Water pressure for long hair could have been a bit stronger but was ok.

Great resort! This is the largest hotel property I have been to. They upgraded our room for free because they were overbooked of the room we originally had. Great customer service. Fast and easy check in and out. Location is very convenient to parks. Will stay again!

Me and my girlfriend (late 20's) were visiting Disney for a relaxing getaway but unfortunately our experience was far from this. As soon as you check in you will immediately be ushered over to a set of desks where they will encourage you to sign up for one of their timeshare presentations. After travelling all day we just wanted to get into our room. The whole process was hectic and set the tone for the whole stay - we felt like we were always being sold something.

Within the first hour of getting into our room, we had three phone calls and two visits; one was to open the safe, one was from housekeeping to drop off some extra sheets and the last was a phone call from the time share staff offering higher compensation to convince us to still join the presentation.

There was also a cleaning cloth from housekeeping left in our room on the floor by our bed.

Next was the room cleaning policy - in their defense this may have been written somewhere but I wouldn't have expected this from any hotel; after two days our room hadn't been cleaned and we needed replacement towels - I called housekeeping and their policy was they don't clean the room unless the stay was greater than 10 days. We ended up having to take out our own trash etc.

Lastly this didn't affect the rating but more of an FYI - the breakfast is not in the main reception area where you will check in (you need to take a bus). Again no real problems but just be prepared this is the case.

The reason I didn't give it one star is because some of the staff there did have friendly personalities which was refreshing given everything else we experienced during our stay.

We always love to visit this resort. We always book in river island, however this time when we arrived we were told they booked us the wrong room. Since it was a holiday week there was no room at river island and we could stay in a different section of the resort or we could cancel our reservation and go home if we didn't like the wrong room. We drove 22 hours to stay here so that wasn't an option and we ended uppity an apology and stayed in East village. The 2 bedroom unit was fine(the toaster was broken, there were missing utensils, and the ice machine did not work), and the pools were great as always.

It is a beautiful resort. It has lots of amenities but you have to pay extra for most of them. The units are quite nice. Be prepared to do laundry as they charge for extra towels. All encounters with the staff have been pleasant. We have stayed here twice and would definitely recommend it.

Our villa faced the golf course and it was quiet and amazing. House was very clean and smelt amazing. I love how they provide everything for you. Dishes, soap and front desk always answers any questions you might ask. Our villa was close to the entrance and one of the many pools they offer on site. All the restaurants are tasty.

Don't trust the vacation station. We bought 4-day package and VIP tour from the resort and were thinking of getting a better deal. And realize that we were being reap off. First of all, we were told the VIP tour was non-refundable, but were able to refund them at the guest service in the Universal studio, except they told us the full price were $30 cheaper than the resort sold us. So, apparently someone is getting more than 10% of commission out of them.

Great amenities but we were lied to about a backup generator which was a huge reason to stay here during hurricane Irma. There was little to no communication from the staff before and after the hurricane. Nobody checked on us to tell us news and then we received notice that if the power didn't come on they'd kick us out! I feel strongly that this facility could be an incredible investment if I had more faith in the company that manages this property. To be more picky, the rooms needed dusting (and we were in a three bedroom suite so it was supposed to be well kept), there was an additional charge for extra bathroom towels, and some supplies weren't replenished when room service came through. (Like shampoo, dishwashing soap, and salt and pepper)

Although I didn't stay at this property I'm giving it a 5 star rating because I did take a tour of the grounds and rooms. Everything was beautiful and pretty luxurious for my taste. If I could afford it it's somewhere I think I'd enjoy staying. I attended a showing for the timeshare program so obviously I underwent a pretty thorough sales pitch and saw a couple model rooms during my visit. If you're in the same boat and curious about what to expect, it's not so bad. They put on a big charade about how much you can save basically guaranteeing you'll be vacationing multiple times a year at dramatically lower prices. This is all partially true. Do yourself a favor and research these things before you jump the gun because timeshares may not be for you despite how they make it sound. Don't be afraid to say no.

My family was VERY happy with this hotel. We went to Disney with my in-laws, so we needed extra space along with a great pool for the kids, and we were not disappointed. We couldn't believe how big the rooms were. Plus, the people were friendly, the pool was great, and as a bonus the staff was very helpful and professional when I accidentally left valuables in my room upon leaving - they found them and mailed them promptly. I will definitely be back.

Service was very good. Transportation was one thing I found somewhat lacking. We flew into Orlando and did not have personal transportation. Resort is to large to walk to pools, restaurants and entertainment areas. The shuttle stop closest to our Villa was about a third of a mile walk. Our grandchildren (4 & 5) loved the pools and the children's activity center. Craft activities were reasonably priced and attendant was very friendly and patient with the girls.

Staying at the Orange Lake Resort was a great time for the family. Our building was next to the River Island Area and it couldn't get any better. A beautiful tropical scenery with a hot tub secretly snuggled between the birds of paradise and waterfalls. Pool Games, volleyball tournaments, sand art, hair wrappings, arcade, mini golf, playground So much more. The services was hit or miss. Management was entertaining and accommodating while we wasted to sit or larger group at the breakfast buffet, which was delicious. Staff was wonderful, so busy and attentive. Outside- Orange shirts lacked attention to their job. Several river attendants-life guard(?) were using their phones. Slide monitors were carrying personal conversations then spoke to a child about stopping on slides, in fact the top person sent down another to fast on a non slick slide. Three employees took the stairs before a guest, and my family had car problems and I needed a ride to front gate but was denied only later to see other guest on this non shuttle cart. Knowing that it is hard to truly find dedicated service people that take an interest in their quality of work, it would not so us from putting this destination on our summer hotel circuit. The Resort was a fantastic getaway. We did not leave and enjoyed beautiful two bedroom accommodations.

This is the second time I've been out to this property for a family event and it is amazing. I love the rooms and the pools. The staff is mostly helpful when it comes to amenities on the property. One employee said there was no grill on premises when checking in. Called to ask if we could have our own grill if we went out and purchased it, and was told there was grills on property, but yes. Also, this is the second time we've been at the pool at night when it was closing, and the staff wasn't very friendly in existing it was time to get out because the pool was closed. Neither of these experiences ruined our trip, but maybe some further training could help. Overall, still a good place to take your family!

Amazing place. Very well kept lawns and roads, extremely friendly staff. The lazy river is around half a mile long in all. Its a little annoying they want you to pay for tube rentals and a few other small things, but all in all this is an amazing place.

I've stayed in Holiday Inn locations like this before but this one is the best hands down, as well as the largest.

They offer a shuttle from around 20 or so different stops around the property to any location you'd like within the resort. If you want, you have the option to drive from wherever you're staying to the hot spots (pool areas, for example) as they have parking lots located near each attraction in the resort.

    Would definitely recommend. No complaints.

The amenities at Orange Lake are very family friendly: from the pools, water slides, mini golf, convenience of food, internal shuttles, etc. The biggest negative was that the floors of our 2 bedroom villa was not vacuumed or mopped prior to our arrival. My baby's feet were black within an hour after walking around barefoot. When we called the front desk regarding this issue at around 8pm, Management did respond promptly by sending someone over at 9:30pm. Unfortunately we were preparing for bed so we asked them to come back the next day. Otherwise, Orange Lake is in a super convenient location - close to restaurant strip and more importantly, to Disney and Universal Studios.
