For a Historic Hotel of the front Hollywood beach it's need a New Hotel. The hotel is not that great as staying the room are dated and unpleasant and guest shouldn't have to go second floor to check-in the office to get a room. Where the hotel-front desk is located is a closed down restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach. At one point this was a beautiful hotel as time move a long management changes. Management forget the key value of a great Historical Hotel of Hollywood Beach. The hotel need to be rebuilt from bottom up to be back to it's elegant looking day.

Horrific to say the least! Room 535 where I stayed literally smelled like death. The elevators didn’t work, the staff was non existent, it’s definitely haunted, and I saw a prostitute cutting up and snorting coke on a bench right outside the front door. Did I mention the smell? It was so rancid I will never forget it. The hotel was so terrible we decided to leave at 1am after arriving at midnight to drive back home to the other coast. I’m also pretty sure there is blood on the door leading to the stairs on the 6th floor.

This is honestly the worst place I have stayed at. First of all it use to be a mall and then you have to go to the second floor to check in. Also, they don't even have their own parking lot it's a public garage where you pay $24 a day. When I first came in the hallway I saw a big dead roach and when I went outside to my car I saw a rat running by. The bathroom is disgusting. The toilet barely works and when taking a shower it would get super cold and then super hot out of nowhere. Not to mention this place looks haunted & sketchy.Don't spend your money here! It's not worth it

This place is a real dump. Do yourself a favor and spend some extra bucks and get yourself a nicer place. Everything is old and falling apart, it smells like mold everywhere. I don't know how this place hasn't been shut down yet. It feels like an abandoned hotel. Staff are really rough looking. Like its a prison release program.
Electrical cords ran all over the rooms, room is nasty old. Ceiling tiles missing. Gross gross gross.

The smell of mildew was not even close to why I'm giving this hotel only 1 star. The elevator to the penthouse rarely works. We had to lug our bags up the stairs. Now don't be impressed by the "penthouse". I've stayed in nicer super 8 motels!!! The air conditioning didn't work in our room at all and the only thing staff could offer us was the box fan that was ALREADY in the room which shows it had been out awhile. Ugh!!! Absolutely terrible experience from poor hospitality to not even having the bare minimum after paying 159.00 for one night!!!!!

This hotel is older and needs alot of Maintenance. A/c units dont work well and rooms are quite hot. Front desk agents are well trained to diffuse situations and give stock answers. Customer service is based on the employees mood. Price was fair but when you include resort fee and parking you feel kind of ripped off. Well goal was a stay-cation and we would not let anything steal our joy If u have the time and few extra bucks just stay at a nicer hotel. If you do stay here just know YOU will have an issue.

This place is definitely in need of some upgrading and cleaning. As you walk in, it smelled old and like a wet dog. Initially there was a problem with them finding my reservation which my room was already paid for in full before I got there. After straightening that out we got the room and saw a roach on the wall. The linen on one of the beds did not look clean, the faucets in the bathroom sink and tub with severely corroded and missing pieces. While taking a shower the water temperature fluctuated from warm to very hot several times. The tub was also not draining well while taking a shower the water was getting backed up. Stepped out for dinner came back somewhat late and found several baby roaches crawling around the room. There
was also a centipede on the wall. Parking for our 1-day nightmare also costed $56. I will never come back here and will not to recommend this place to anyone.

My family stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When we first drove up, we had to find parking. The only parking available was inside a public parking structure that wasn't even affiliated with the Historic Hollywood Hotel. The parking garage was almost full and insanely crowded. The parking rates were crazy, too. We paid $28 for one day. When I walked into the hotel, I didn't even recognize that it was a hotel. This hotel is inside a dirty, beat up mall. To get to the registration desk, you have to take an elevator up to the second floor. To get to the rest of the rooms, you have to take a different elevator. The registration itself was nice enough, but the rest of the second floor smelled like urine. Our room was on the fifth floor. When we got to the elevators (you need a key card to access them), one was not working. On the fifth floor, there was a sign saying this floor was a no smoking floor. However, the hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. We think some people may live in the hotel, as some doors had different locks. Our room wasn't good, either. The beds, although new, were very soft. The pillows were either super soft or firm and lumpy. The floor was all tile. The AC was a portable unit on the floor that barely worked. When we drained it, dirty water rushed out everywhere. The bathroom was small. The bathtub was rusting and flaking off and didn't drain. Room service DID come to our room, but only gave us one towel set. There were three people in our room. When we walked downstairs to request two more towel sets, they didn't have any, but said they'd send up room service. Room service never arrived. The staff was unhelpful. Overall, this hotel was smelly, dirty, and not at all what we paid for.

This place is overly expensive for no reason, not only that but your paying in 3 different areas could total up to maybe over a grand for a crappy room, and no complimentary breakfast ether? and that we later also found COCKROACHES in. Even with it being Florida, I still shouldn't find roaches in my room. Their fitness area has mold, you can smell it. It's very overwhelming. Apparently with our stay it did not include room service, I've never in my life visited a hotel that does not include room service with your stay. And not only that but make you feel as if you don't deserve clean towels or sheets because it's not included with your stay prior? That's terrible customer service, I feel so bad that my father tried to surprise my husband and I with a nice vacation for us to get a huge slap in the face by this place at every turn. Highly do not recommend, never spending money here again, I recommend no one else does ether until they get their hotel to better standing.

Affordable, awesome location. Beautiful beach, great huge pool, very nice broadwalk. New hotel and city regulations has turned it back into a peaceful, relaxing time. It's perfect for the $.

It was a great atmosphere. The hall way carpet most definitely needs to be replaced due to the mold smell.
The rooms did not smell, very comfy. Pool area is great, the beach is clean. This is an old hotel many things should be remodeled although it's historic somethings really need to be changed.
But other than that the check in and out staff were very helpful. Parking is terrible though, due to memorial w/e the valet company tool advantage and was charging $45 and self parking $35. Thankfully they honored the $18 self parking for me due to my reservation that stated that, I did not even have to ask, they did it automatically.
Would I stay there again? Yes

Hotel is very old but has been remodeled over the years. Room was great. Hotel front desk staff isnt very friendly. Most shops in the hotel are vacant and gives a depressing vibe. Beach is right in the back of the hotel, they lend you towers for free. The location of the hotel is perfect.
