Awesome selection of high quality healthy food at reasonable prices and incredible service if you need to work with Customer service. Fairway knows how to take of its customers. It is more than a store, it is a wonderful experience.
A nice alternative to have locally. The have a great selection of prepared foods more on the upscale side. It's great for finding those specialty goods items you are seeking. They have a large variety of unique foods. However, too pricey for the regular weekly food shopping trip.
They have big selection of fresh produce, seafood and cheese. There is barely any lines at cashier. Go there on my way back from work since a lot supermarkets have closed around the area and never disappointed.
Surprised and pleased by the variety of foods offered. Has a nice eat-in area if someone needs a quick lunch. Sells wine and beer. (Maybe more?) Foods were fresh, but no one at my party cared for the cookies and cakes I bought. Steaks were wonderful and on sale. A little pricey for some goods. Will keep going when I'm in the area.
Large clean store with an impressive selection of gourmet food. The prices are honestly ridiculous though for anyone with a modest income, so make sure you have money to burn before going. The sample people can be pushy and rude if you don't buy their overpriced products after sampling.
I love this supermarket. Their selection of almost every item they sell there is quite impressive to be quite honest. They have certain deli meats that you cannot find elsewhere, plain and simple. They have this one particular ham that comes from Spain and runs you about $100 per pound. Most quality deli's or butcher shops, etc in New York don't even carry it. You could easily get lost in that place and spend 6-10 hours shopping. Their hot food and lunch area is a must visit. The buffet area usually has some very interesting and inviting food that would have most people drooling if they were hungry. The cheese, deli meat, seafood, coffee bean, and wine areas to mention some of the better ones are better than what you find at other supermarkets. I really don't have anything negative to say about this place.
Great selection of hard-to-find foods. EXCELLENT made-to-order salads. Decent organic & vegan finds. A little expensive.
Went with my roommate. My sole purchase was a cylinder of goat cheese wrapped in cranberries.
I've driven by this Fairway for over ten years but this was my first time going inside. It's fairly large with a lot to offer but everything seemed very niché. We ogled over everything they had but I could never see myself routinely shopping here.
The store is clean and organized but also very cold. The A/C was set to arctic temperature. The staff was around doing their tasks but otherwise talked to each other.
The product assortment is very international - mainly European (Dutch, Scottish, and Irish) and Asian, with a smattering of Spanish offerings.
The checkout line was easy although I'm surprised they don't have self checkout lanes.
Very good selection and surprisingly reasonable prices! Top quality fruits and vegetables. They always have a butcher on duty when the store is open. They have a great cheese monger. Wonderful coffees that they roast in situ. I'm in love with this store.
So I've been there four times already and I love the quality of food but there's something that bothers me every single time I go, the employees. I feel like for such a store they need to be a little more selective in who they hire, I've had less than friendly service every time I go. Today I went checked out, swiped card and then the cashier begins to do something on the register and before my card is processed the price jumped by $10. I asked why did this just jump $10 she said in a nasty tone 'because one of the things didn't ring up' and seconds before she was calling another worker by screaming hey you Yeah you. Yeah I don't know your name Point is this is only the last incident not the first and they really need to hire better employees. Hire the hiring manager from trader Joe's or whole foods to help u but that isn't acceptable. I'll go back for the beer, coffee and produce with tempered expectations of service.
Love this store . My only gripe is that items don't always ring up at the prices shown on the shelves.
For example; they often bundle coffee beans in a "coffee lovers" 3 pack for $19.99 which is a great price however the cashiers often ring up each bag individually & you end up with no discount.
You need to pay attention at checkout because calling customer service after the fact doesn't work.
This is the first time I went to Fairway Market. The selections of high quality and exotic varieties made me feel like a kid in a candy store. The prices, compared to Whole Foods, are a pleasant surprise. Will start going to the ones in Paramus and Fort Leec more often.
For a variety in offerings from other supermarkets this is the place to go. We like to experiment and try new foods and this the place to do just that. Prices slightly higher than your typical grocery store but sale items are plentiful. This place offers quality and quantity.
An enjoyable shopping experience. Has the atmosphere of a Mediterranean marketplace while still distinctly Northeastern American. Serviceable craft beer selection and decent wine selection as well. The hot foods bar is a nice touch, and it's good for picking up dinner on the way home or stopping for a quick lunch between travel spots.
