The suites are quite large and fairly updated feeling. The have a kitchen sink and microwave but no stove. The location is convenient for most Palm desert attractions with grocery store right beside. The evening reception was above average with veggies and salty snacks, and the breakfast was above average too with a wide variety. The grounds are well kept and the staff were all friendly. My only complaint was the room was very cold. The heat just blew cool air all night and the aren't any extra blankets in the room. I would definately stay here again.
The hotel is a bit run down. Rooms/Hotel have a nice coat of paint but it needs some major updating. Bath tub leaked all weekend, remotes didn't work the first night and the alarms were going off and on for about an hour the first night. The breakfast was the best part of the visit.
We visited back in Oct 2015 and returned Oct 2016 stay so I thought I should share why I choose to re-book there. I won't disagree with other reviewers in that this property is older and needs work, so I will get the negatives out of the way first. The elevator is terrible, old, & dirty. we got a bottom floor room on the first visit so it didn't affect us much, second visit we were in #320 so we just took the stairs. They need a person assigned to clean up - the pool and common areas should be cleaned of cups and garbage every night at least. People should clean up after themselves, but if they do not other guest shouldn't have to look at it for days. The breakfast is a great added benefit and the choices are varied, but the layout is strange as others have said. The hot foods being in a separate, very small room was inconvenient. The dining areas outside are great, but because the area is not cleared frequently by an employee, if people leave their food out the birds swarm. On to the positives for the price paid I think this is a great value! The rooms are large, great for families. The sitting area has a sofa bed and it's own TV, and it closes off from the master, so that way part of your group can rest if others want to stay up. The sitting area has a small table and chairs, fridge, microwave - great for keeping the budget down when you can not afford to dine out every meal. There is also a grocery store right next door, drinks and snacks couldn't be more convenient. There is a sink in the bathroom and a full second vanity in the bedroom, great for rooms with more than 2 people trying to get ready. The beds are comfortable, my whole group said they slept well. The breakfast is a great add on. It was 6-9 am on Mon-Fri and 7-10 on Sat & Sun. The evening happy hour was daily from 5:30-7:30 - the free drinks at night are small, but the drink of the day was always good - the bartender Kenny is a great asset to the place. The night time snacks could use some variety and upgrade - they are not up to par with other ES that I have stayed at. Overall for the money paid - it is a good deal.
The hotel had plenty of parking and easy to get to from the freeway (tho took a little bit of time). I was on a room as a guest, and during the check in, they said they will put my name on file but didn't. The reason for the two stars is our shower did not have any hot water, well luke warm water. Called the front desk to have a maintenance person fix it while we were out and never showed up. Never have I ever shivered in the shower before. The free breakfast had a good selection of choices, and surprisingly (in a good way) was open lately on weekends till 10:30. Overall, I don't think I will stay here again. Hilton let me down.
I'm a big fan of most Hilton offerings but this one was a huge disappointment. I called for early check-in, which they could not accommodate. Fair enough, but when I go to check in shortly after 4pm my room still was not ready. The Wi-Fi is horrible, it was impossible to maintain a connection. The furniture was dirty. The walls had stains from drinks. I had to ask the housekeeping to tidy up the room as they completely skipped us. For the price it is better than some local competitors, but this was far below the bar set by most other locations. This may not change my opinion on Hilton as a whole, but I will be avoiding this location in the future.
Staff is nice and rooms are great. WiFi sucks, won't allow you to do a lot on your phone. People in other rooms are sensitive seeing as we were laughing and not being that loud and someone got a noise complaint. Other than that, hotel was great.
Hotel employees ignore you or try to avoid speaking with you. Empty pool being renovated, which is fine. Nice rooms and had limited service between check in/out.
Nice hotel. Always love the convenience of the complementary morning breakfast & evening happy hour. Pool was being refurbished during our visit - no surprise as it was stated clearly on their website before we booked the reservation. Seemed though that some other guests checking in missed getting that info before arriving & were quite disappointed. Staff was overall very pleasant & helpful. Only reason for a "4" & not a "5" was that two staff members also felt the need to air their personal complaints about "The Hotel" directly to me. I always laugh to myself when employees do this as THEY ARE "The Hotel" to me, the Customer. I suggest that Embassy Suites Management have this discussion with their employees - and also do some reflection on their corporate culture as that more often than not is the source of this "we/they" conflict. I still recommend the hotel. They are very good - this review just being an honest evaluation on where they can focus on improving to become both a great place to work for their employees & an absolute "choice destination" for their Customers.
Staying 4 nights, staff is great. Room seems to be buy enough for 3 adults and 2 kids with two queens and the pull out sofa suite. Breakfast buffet has lots of choices and happy hour is great.
Large, comfortable rooms that were reasonably priced. Housekeeping had forgotten to restock our room with towels, but they were immediately delivered once we informed the front desk. The breakfast was very nice.
Great deal for the price advertised. Smooth checkin. Everybody in the pool area seems to be having fun. Free breakfast included with a great selection of hot and cold food. It was a little chaotic as it was a holiday weekend. I believe the hotel was almost full but it was quiet at night. Rooms are big and clean and staff were all very pleasant to deal with. Good area with Starbucks next door. El Paseo close. Easy enough access to the 10. Multiple restaurants to choose from high end to family friendly type. I recommend a light to lit up hotel sign on the road.
Free breakfast and free drinks at happy hour! The breakfast is great, you can get eggs made to order plus bacon and sausage!
The building is clearly an older building but they are slowly redoing it. The pull out couch bed is not the most comfortable thing I have slept on but still better than the floor.
Over all it's not a bad place. The staff is amazing!
Location is in a nice, fairly affluent area in the desert. It is a short ride to Coachella and Stagecoach. There are numerous different stores and banks nearby and even higher end shopping. The rooms are good. Very clean. Simple but contains just about everything you'd need. 3 different floors. Some, or all, are outside access but from within the hotel meaning they're not accessible to the public but are exposed to the outside. Service has been decent. Not great or above average but certainly not bad. A few blemishes but nothing huge. If I had to describe it I would call it the most basic or lowest level of "good" hotels.
