Very old hotel in need of serios renovations and cleaning. The staff is not friendly but will accommodate if you're persistent. Rooms on the pool side are a little better than on the north side where there is construction that starts between 6:30 and 7:00am. Rooms with carpet are not vacuumed so a room with tile floors is better because they are swept. The location of the hotel is great; right on the beach. There are two bars right at the hotel and a restaurant. Shops and restaurants within short walking distance.

If you like cheap, it works just enough to sleep. The issues that were not told to us upon reservation or check in were the following: elevators don’t work, construction next door starts at 6:30am, part of the hotel is destroyed from the last hurricane, valet can only park small vehicles, and internet doesn’t work. When asking about anything, it’s all blamed on last hurricane and you get the deer in headlights look. Being a past resident of SIB, all other buildings have been fixed since the hurricane. This hotel like all other old ones in this town is in its way out to rebuild a new buildingobviously. In fact this is the only one still open. The staff is OK but no offers helping with carrying luggage up or down flights of stairs. As for the beach, you can only take your free broken down lounge chair 30 feet onto the beach which avoids being near water. Bring your own chair if you want to be or see the water. The room is like any other cheap motel room but the shower drain is broke but still able to shower. All the issues at this hotel are manageable but you get what you pay for in this town. It’s all about the beach here and not this ‘resort’. No bugs is a plus!

Went for lunchwe were there 30 years ago for our honeymoon! Lovely food and relaxed friendly staff and vibe all through the hotel. Great memories too!

Great location , so close to the beach. Unfortunately that’s about the only good thing about this place. The staff was not friendly, the rooms were hot and smelled like cigarette smoke. The room lacked trash cans and the walls are paper thin. Extremely noisy construction next door and there seems to be very little privacy. A house keeping employee walked in on me with out knocking or checking first if there was any one in the room. The bathrooms were pretty gross. I would not visit this hotel again.

Horrible. Elevator didn't work. Thin walls, people slamming doors all night long. Rude staff. No hot water or water pressure in shower. Dirty sheets. No parking! Had to pay extra just to park in gravel lot across busy street. We will NEVER be staying here again.

Booked for about $350 for 5 days and the final bill was about double that with parking and taxes. It's cheaper than the rest of the hotels in the area you shouldn't be expecting much from it. Elevator didn't work, the restaurant was closed and the hotel is rather deteriorated. The door to the balcony in my room didn't close as well. There's also a contruction next to it that bothers on weekdays mornings. I'd probably come back if am on a budget trip. Absolutely excellent location.
You shouldn't be expecting personnel being too nice. They just don't care much.response / report this review -

Pretty scuzzy feeling, all tile floors and loud neighbors even after alerting the front desk about it. Noise comes right through the cheap walls. The pool was pretty dirty as well. Ridiculously low pressure in the shower, sandpaper like "bath towels" more like stained cleaning rags. I didn't have a choice in where I was put up and sadly it was here, never would I ever return to this place, and I'm not even picky but this place is a big fat FAIL.

I have stayed here a couple of times. First things first, this is not a luxury place. But it was clean, cheap, have a good location.. Also ocean view from many of the balconys. But of course if you are wiling to pay 100US+ more pr night then you find better places down the road. So my 4 star I give in terms of price/loacation/what you get.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! All 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE PAID FOR BY THE THUNDERBIRD HOTEL. ITS ALL FALSE ADVERTISING. HOTEL DOES NOT LOOK LIKE WHAT THEY ADVERTISE. In all my life of traveling and staying in different rat holes that people consider hotels, this has to be the worst. From the moment you park a valet worker is rushing you speaking in spanish and very rude. The clerk in the front desk was horrible they did not want to help at all in a small emergency. The rooms smell weird like a rotting apple that has been left by a rabid raccoon. The bar and bartender are the only things about this hotel that are acceptable. Not a good place.

This is a surprising little motel with a fabulous location. It is only a matter of yards to the sandy beach. It has a great pool and sun deck and some of the staff are very friendly. The rooms are spacious but very tired looking. The hotel is in need of a serious amount of refurbishment.

Worst hotel experience ever! We arrived 1 Hour prior to check in, they did not allow us to be in the pool or use their towels. The pool and its restrooms were dirty. We were 4 (as it was registered in the reservation) but they would give us only to beach towels. The valet parking was full. And the front desk has no idea what Customer service means. The beach was great.

Rooms are typical and fine. My purpose is a place to sleep because I'm out most of the time, scouting Miami for a better vacation for the family. It has weak WiFi and I end up going to Starbucks. Self-parking is $12 per night. I think 3 🌟 is good.

Butit is very dated like me! I have been coming here for 31 years and it never changes. The guest are all regular repeat visitors. The charm is the location, the people the staff and the views. It's not the Hilton, but it is so much more

My wife and I live 10 minutes away in Miami Shores, our condo is being tented so we booked the Days Hotel and we love it. The staff is great the restaurant has good food the beach is out back just past the beautiful pool and hot tub. The room is comfortable, everything works!!! It ain't the Ritz but it's under a hundred a night and for someone who doesn't want to spend 250 or 3 a night it's great. Don't let the poor reviews scare you away, as far as I'm concerned they are unjust.

I would not recommend this hotel. The parking is $12 and it is across the street, partially paved with trash everywhere. We got there early, got off a cruise ship, but they were going to charge us $50.00 to check in early. They said we could use the pool and beach but they would not let us use a towel until we checked in. The hotel is very old, there were so many coats of paint on the bathroom door it wouldn't close, the kitchenette smelled of gas and the ice machines did not work. The shower barely squirted out water, took a long time to rinse the shampoo out of my hair and it didn't drain well, so we stood in water as we showered. We had obnoxious guests on both sides of us, partying and slamming doors until 2:00 a.m. I called the desk twice and they said they'd send security. I think security may have gone to their rooms (I believe they were all friends in both rooms), they would quiet down but it didn't last, I truly had no sleep. The bed was comfortable, I will give them that. I couldn't find air conditioning anywhere, luckily being there early March the room wasn't too hot but I can't imagine being there in the summer. This hotel is surrounded by very expensive high rises and my husband and I believe this hotel will probably be torn down as soon as they get the right offer, the location is right on the beach. That is our guess why they aren't fixing anything, but that is just our assumption. When we checked out, the employee was very rude, didn't even speak - just pointed to where my husband was supposed to sign. It actually was hard not to laugh at the bad service. We are not fancy people but we do expect things to work and people to be polite and welcoming. Our last day of a great vacation was a big disappointment.
