By the looks of the recent reviews, this hotel didn’t have a chance. You know you’re doing horrible when you have broken a Jacuzzi filled with dirt and cheap flowers. This place was just pure disgusting.

The worst surprise ever when I arrived the website images were deleted from my brain. I insisted on being close to the beach and tried to make the best of it until I had to fight a big moth out of the room in the middle of the night, slap the itsy bitsy spider who came dropping from the bathroom ceiling. The worst part was the back patio that's advertised onsite as if its party oasis and it looks like a scenery from some scary movie in real life. If I had time I would stand in front and protest the closing of such a lying false promo I booked with Travelocity they suck also because they should be well aware of the garbage they are helping with I want a full refund but I will settle for this real review and hope to warn off any one who believe the outdated pics on their site I took photos not to mention the nasty slimy walls and floor of the pool I got in at nite and looked at it the next day in light hoping not to catch a skin disease wooooh the list goes on and on. The workers nice the only good thing about the place

I'm only giving it two stars because it is beachfront. other than this and the friendly helpful staff, this has been THE single worst hotel stay I've experienced in years of traveling. Dirty, old, outdated, smelly, poorly lit, tiny, rooms. Moldy showers, and when we first arrived we HAD to fog-blast the room with RAID to KILL the hundreds of mosquitoes that were flying around inside. unfortunately that did not kill the cockroaches that crawled around while we slept uncomfortably in what seemed like 20 year old mattresses. The structure of the hotel is in bad shape, the second floor walkway being held up by raw metal support beams in the middle of the first floor walkway. the ONLY place to get service or good wifi is in the lobby- everywhere else just forget about it. the pool is nice, probably the nicest part about the hotel. we had to sleep in a room which the door did NOT close/lock properly, and the chain was broken. parking is a joke.

The good? as i mentioned before it is beachfront, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I gave the hotel two stars- one for being beachfront and one for having great staff. but I couldn't find another reason to give it more.

would I recommend it? I personally will not be staying here again, but to each their own.

1. Well the pool was shut down for maintenance 3 of 4 days here the kiddie pool is filled in and a garden now,

2. $11 a day for double parking you have to wait for other person to move,

3. no temperature controls in rooms,

4. mold in bathroom, old old fixtures cracked and stained, no bathroom counter just a few inches around sink, tried to tile over old tiles and they are popping off, shower upstairs leaks into ours,

5. beds squeak so much just moving my arm under pillow wakes up others, beds are well worn in and wavy,

6. beach side bar not open,

7. some lights not working,

8. we were on bottom floor and you could hear every footstep (among other things) of people above us, even though only a few guest are staying in the hotel right now they put them above us.

9. TV is 20 years old,

10. weird fart type smells some really bad not sure where they came from maybe the vents as my son swears it was not him :)

11. The FREE bear bites breakfast no longer available although website says it is.

12. This place is old and at the end of its life please just let it die and stop tricking people online to book rooms here with old pictures and old descriptions of things no longer available or working, only good things are location, price and friendly/helpful staff.

13. Did not enjoy the extra guest in our room saw one cockroach under bed about 2" body on him, could not catch him as he disappeared into one of the many holes in box spring mattress, probably has his friends hiding him.

14. internet is only about as good as dial up as it literally took me an hour to write this and post it, did a speed test when it would connect and got up to 22 kb per second.

I HAVE GOT TO SAY ALL OF THE YEARS THAT I HAVE BEEN STAYING AT THE MONACO MOTEL ALL AND ALL MY EXP. HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL!!! THAT'S THE TRUTH EVERYONE THAT WORKS THERE, REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR GUESTS 1. BILLY THE MANAGER, ALWAYS HAS A SIMILE, AND MAKES SURE THAT ALL IS WELL ALL OF THE DAY SHIFT HELP, FROM THE FRONT-DESK, TO THE MAINT. DEPT. TO HOUSE-KEEPING DO THEIR BEST TO MAKE YOU HAPPY THE 2ND. AND 3RD. SHIFTS, THAT WOULD BE ROBERT & VONNI, REALLY WANT TO MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE AT HOME THE 3RD. SHIFT (KENNY) ALSO DOES HIS UTMOST TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL IS WELL.. THIS I WILL SAY.
