This is a beautiful park and the cabin prices are reasonable. CCC historical site, with museum and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lodge has a good buffet that's popular with the locals and they have plenty of choices.
Sometimes it's pretty crowded. But the food is delicious. Really great place for comfort food. Salad bar isn't bad but usually only has iceberg lettuce.
A great buffet on Sundays of chicken, ham and roast beef or catfish. That's just the meats! Salad bar, soup, ice cream and desserts galore. Try the best banana pudding made from scratch! Oh yeah. That's why people drive from all over. The scenery is wonderful too! Even a gift shop!
Really nice state park. Most campsites are spacious and some even have a sewer connection. Hiking trails are moderately easy, and not too long. Restaurant is very good as even the locals eat at it often. Have camped here before and will again in the future.
Very nice and we'll maintained! The playgrounds were modern and very well built and sturdy. We had a very pleasant picnic lunch. We stopped on our way from Nashville to Sevierville. It's a little bit off the freeway but worth the time!
Went here after visiting the Homestead Tower and House museums. There are some nice trails. The damn holds historical significance but it stinks down at the bottom. The view from the bottom is worth the smell if you can tolerate it! Saw a squirrel or two, heard a lot of birds. The river that runs through in the afternoon took on different colors with all the shadows that played through the trees. Lots of friendly hikers. There is a bird aviary with four rescued birds. Each has a tragic story, but very beautiful. Can't say anything about camping or RV because we went for the history and to hike. Will be going back for the other trails though.
Saturday night all you can eat ribs. They are always fall off the bone fantastic. Great Buffet with a perfect view.
We stopped just passing through. Looks like beautiful facilities, restaurant, cabins, and a swimming pool. It was beautiful. CCC history museum to share. Very interesting. So I can't rate a 5 because I didn't spend the night.
This park was absolutely beautiful and very well kept! The bathrooms were so clean you would of thought that they just cut the tape and opened them that second. The employees inside the information building/restaurant were super friendly and nice. We only walked one trail but I will definitely be back to walk the others and to kayak. This is a wonderful family trip and made for a great family outing.
Lots of activities to pick from. Great restaurant and dining view of the lake. Camping was great also.
It is an awsome place to stay and enjoy the grate outdoors. And haveing fun with the wife and kids.
Very peaceful and beautiful!! Many excellent spots to chose from. Just not all spots had full hook up.
It was really neat to find a place in a travel guide and then go to it. The ducks were really friendly and would eat things right out of your hand great way to spend the day with the kids getting in touch with nature.
We love this place. Yes the cabins are rustic they are described as rustic, so if youre expecting a 4star hotel of course you will be disappointed. But while old they are clean and I personally love the history of these cabins. The buffet is nice, and the staff are wonderful. The food is decent canned veggies and powered potatoes but the salad bar was fresh. The trails are very nice, I hope to make it up for the trail run in May. We will ve back.
