Our room was right next the L and we could hear the announcements, but when we turned the fan in in the room it blocked it out so well i didnt even notice. I'm a light sleeper so talhat's saying a lot. The radiator woke me up in the middle of the night with a high pitched wail, which stopped when I turnd it off. There's a slotted window in the shower that looked right out to the L, but it closed all the way and there were no privacy concerns with it, however it did let in a pretty good draft. Which was unfortunate when taking a shower in December, but didn't affect the overall warmth of the room. We are a married couple, but they gave us two full size beds. (Granted we didn't book the stay so it may have not been their fault). The great thing was that we had easy access the the L and bought a 24 hour pass so we could go anywhere. It's right next to Cheesie's, which was delicious. Right across the street is the night club Berlin. We didn't make it, but heard good things. Overall i would stay at this hotel again.

We paid $250 for a Saturday night. Not worth it! The hotel was very noisy - sitting right next to the Train and with thin walls we could hear walking above and laughing and shouting into the night from next door. The decor is very plain - robot monkey and train theme. Drab grey. Bathroom door would not close. Worth the $78 for a week night but not worth over $100.
PROS: Two rooms with a couch, historic building, proximity.

Pros: Cozy, comfortable, close to the L, tons of awesome food spots within walking distance, great neighborhood, nice people.
Cons: noisy air conditioners (but actually probably not much of a con as they drown out the street, train and other guest noise)
laggy TV, so it probably should be a pro.)

The worst night ever in a hotel! The air conditioners were very noisy. Every train stopping at the Belmont station was loud enough to wake me. And I was awoken in the middle of the night to discover that I had many (40-50 ) bug bites all over my body. The room apparently was infested. But don't worry, a brief visit to Urgent Care doctor and I am on the mend. Though at the moment I just was to rip my skin off.

Nice room, plenty of space. Staff seemed friendly. Bedding and towels were clean, as was the room. Beds were nice and comfy, pillows we're in good condition. In room refreshments seemed to be reasonably priced. Rooms had soaps, shampoos, and lotion included. Only downside was the enterance. It just didn't feel very classy - felt like it was underground. I would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend.

Positives: Location is great -- easy walk to Wrigley, and right by a transit/train stop. The rooms are nicely sized, and the place definitely has a historic feel and some charming retro details. Nice afternoon snack setup and light breakfast offered free daily. Multiple excellent food options in the neighborhood. Negatives: The radiators are very loud, clanking, woke us up a lot. Ended up turning the dial to turn them all the way off, but that wouldn't be an option in the middle of winter. The floors are also very creaky and there seems to be virtually no soundproofing between floors. Our upstairs neighbors for the first two nights paced and paced and paced -- including in the middle of the night and very early in the morning (3-4am), making it difficult to get solid blocks of restful sleep. The final night we were there, a new couple moved in upstairs and while there could be no doubt when they were having sex, at least it was a reasonable time and they went to sleep afterwards, so we got some sleep finally. Between the rads and the floors, we were pretty tired when we left. However, I did not hear noise from outside the building, nor from the very nearby train. I would probably stay here again, if I could be assured of a top-floor room.

Good choice if you want to walk to a Cubs game @ Wrigley Field. If you're not planning to go walk to a Cubs game, there are better hotel options in Chicago - particularly for the cost. The rooms are a little worn - not terrible but not in line with the cost. The breakfast is adequate, if think that a frozen Jimmy Dean English muffin with sausage & egg and a microwave oven is a hot breakfast. There are limited cold breakfast options also. Would I stay there again? Only if I wanted to walk to a Cubs game.

Very cute art deco hotel with an intimate feel. The bed and especially the pillows were the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel with a very generous number of pillows in the room. Very close to the train but we slept with our windows open all night and didn't hear a peep. Reasonably priced minibar in the room. Staff was great.

Fairly small room but comfortable and clean. Shower pressure is weak but workable. Location is rather tucked in to a busy street. Snacks and drinks available for a charge. Housekeeping is polite and thorough.

Would definitely stay there again! The rooms were nicely sized and in good shape considering the age of the building. Very clean and hassle free.
It is right next to the train, which is very convenient for getting around without driving, but for those of you that are light sleepers, be aware that you can hear it.
The parking garage around the block had plenty of spots open that I didn't really feel like I to worry about my car and the rate for it was very reasonable compared to other near by hotel parking options that were considered.

Everyone was friendly. Room was nice. Location was great for what we wanted to do. Nice neighborhood. Heater made a noise when it kicked on for about a half hour but then got quiet. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
