Feel good, nice hotel for short stay. Conveniently located near lot of places to eat and shop! They serve good breakfast. The staff is nive and pleasant. Great stay.

We stayed at this hotel because it was very close to the condo my sister and her family live in. The hotel is in a decent location: fairly quiet, close to places to eat.
The staff was very friendly and nice. There is a place to unload in front of the hotel and they do give you a parking pass with in/out privileges at a parking ramp down the block.
The hotel itself is pretty bare bones. The rooms are small and outdated and the lobby is also very small. Things were generally clean but old and smelly. They have window A/C units and whenever ours turned on cold musty (almost fishy) smelling air blasted into the room.
There are minimal outlets in the rooms and they are in odd locations. The room was very dark and stuffy. The bathroom is pretty old and outdated as well; no counter space, trouble with water pressure and hot/cold water.
The breakfast provided was sparse (fruit and pastries). There was only one small area to sit at to eat it. Many people were sitting on benches and curbs outside to eat their breakfast. We ended up opting to eat our breakfast elsewhere rather than uncomfortably perch on the curb to eat it.
They do provide coffee/tea 24/7 which was nice.
Although this was an okay place to sleep no one in my family wanted to spend any extra time in the dark and musty room and there weren't any other areas to go and sit in. The walls are very thin so it's very easy to hear the people around you as well which woke us up a number of times during the night.
At nearly $300/night I expected a lot more. We won't be staying here again.response / report this review -

A small, quaint hotel in the Lakeview area of Chicago. The gentleman at the desk was a bit brusque, there is only one ice machine inconveniently located. But the room I inhabited was nice enough, though to my mind (and in my experience) a bit too pricey for the limited ambience, with an old-school charm not all travelers will appreciate. In a great location, also near Lincoln Park. I had few complaints other than the noisy window air conditioner. I also had limited expectations, so I would seek multiple reviews before deciding on a stay at this rough around the edges hotel.

Nice ambiance although our room was tiny. It's to be expected as it was for only one person. The bathroom was a good size with a nice shower/bath and to be honest it had nice shampoo. Parking was horrible, though. Make sure you enter the parking garage from diversey street, not through the alley next to the hotel.

Lovely neighborhood for a small, boutique hotel. Rooms are comfortable but no view. Real glasses in room with options to purchase wine and soft drinks from mini bar but no liquor. Nice staff. Breakfast is basic fare with no eggs, not even hard boiled.

European style hotel, nice room, with a good view. Very clean and organized, good location, located off the Lincoln park neighborhood. Walking distance to the park and the lake to oversee the skylines of Chicago. Staff is friendly, parking garage is close by and easily accessible. I will highly recommend this place to everybody.

Very friendly staff. Location is to notch with 20 minute walk to Wrigley field. Hotel is very clean and the rooms are a nice size. Definitely do not expect a luxury hotel or room. For the price, an excellent choice.

3.75/5. Great location, nice room, good continental breakfast. No water pressure in the shower which they said they'd fix and never did. Door didn't fit the cutout well so there was a big gap at the top which meant we could hear a lot of hallway noise and they could hear my toddler scream. No secondary lock/chain so said toddler escaped repeatedly until I built up an adequate barricade. Two steps at lobby entry which made the stroller challenging - they have a ramp they can lay down but it's not typically in place, maybe it would be if they had a guest who used a wheelchair? Pleasantly laid back staff, no bell boys etc.

We had a first floor room near the lobby and it was mostly very quiet. They have a double door between the guest rooms and the lobby which is is nice. The contental breakfast is not elaborate and we had plenty of food. Everything tasted good. I hardly ever heard traffic noise. There's was a big puddle in the street in front of the entrance. It's not their fault, but look before you get out of the taxi. There's tons of shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Nice staff but that's about it. Tiny room - no desk. So small that I could not lay my suitcase out on the floor. Paint peeling everywhere. NOISY very old radiator but no thermostat to adjust heat or AC. Drafty old windows. Dirty washcloth in the bathroom when I arrived. Very dim lighting and no mirror in room. No hairdryer. Hardly any water pressure in shower. No room safes. Old TV with no major channels (ABC, NBC) and it was barely hanging in the wall, cocked to one side on a diagonal. A total rip off for over $200 per night.

Staff was very nice. The complimentary breakfast was great, and they serve fresh baked cookies at 3pm everyday! The room I had was pretty large. It felt more like a B&B than a hotel. So, if your looking for a hotel with old school character, this is it! (the room even had working radiators!) Definitely staying here on my next trip to Chicago.
