I stayed there December 1st and the room was charged to the company I was working for, They got my card for room incidentals. The next day I noticed a 114.07 charge so I called back. After 7 calls I only received one call back only to find out that person didn't do what they said and my card wasn't charged back. After speaking to a rude district manager telling me what he was going to do and how I was in the wrong I can say I will never stay at a Candlewood again. I have left over 100 reviews on Social Media and NEVER a one star. Now to the room, the thermostat didn't work correctly and it was way to warm in the room. There is also construction going on and the noise was very loud until 9pm or so. Plenty of options at this exit not to pick this place.
I showed up at 4:45 pm to check in to find out that my reservation was cancelled without explanation. They where over booked so I had to find someplace else to stay. Recommend looking elsewhere.
Mine was a well equipped hotel.room the lady who checked me in was so sweet and helpful. My bed was/is super comfy. I am going to the balloon festival tomorrow. Can't wait!
I wouldn't stay here if you had the option. Started out in a room where the toilet didn't flush. Was moved to a room that smells like mold. The air conditioner stinks so bad I haven't been running it. This is August in NCThey seem to be doing renovations, Currently replacing hallway lights on the 3rd floor. YAY.. It's a mess dust everywhere. The "store" downstairs is beat, nothings been restocked. There is no breakfast included. There is not daily room cleaning. The entire 3rd floor stinks like cigarettes. Here is a picture of the filter from the air conditioning unitIHG should be ashamed of themselves for keeping a hotel like this under their hat. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the front desk clerk was kind. She needs a raise.
Quiet place my dad is doing renovations for this property the staff are all nice and friendly to kids
I had my girls with me and we popped in on paw paw for a visit and the staff all spoke to me and my kids and asked how we were doing
Every time we came in or out they always greeted us and spoke to me and the kids with a smile on their face..
Great place nice rooms with small kitchens everything is already inside just bring you and your clothes lol
We stayed at this facility for several months as extended stay guests. The staff was wonderful! They made our stay very pleasant!
They, however, have several issues that never get addressed that make the stay not so pleasurable! They have an understaffing, attrition problem that makes it hard to do the basic things that all Candlewoods do. The trash accumulates in the stairwells and outdoor gazebo for days on end. Sometimes the odor is unbearable! The gazebo trash accumulates to the point the guests have to remove it. Several times we've had to clean the grill completely in order to be able to use it! The gazebo itself is in disrepair, it needs work!
The grounds are in horrible condition! The guests have had to trim branchs back to access the sidewalk! The hedges have not been touched and the lawns don't get mowed!
Compared to all Candlewood Suites we've stayed, we were kind of shocked to see that this is allowed to happen! I really don't understand it because we've spoken to other guests who have complained as we have, and they agree that these problems never get addressed! The laundry room is another issue. The equipment is in total disrepair, some of it dangerously! One of the dryers has electrical wiring hanging down in front of the door when you open it! Yes I have mentioned it! No, nothing was done about it! Usually two of four washers work, equally half the dryers work..
However, the staff is absolutely wonderful, great hardworking people who just seem overwhelmed with all there is to do!
Someone needs to check this facility out!
Yes, the property is dated (about to start a refresh), but I found the property to be clean, well-maintained and the staff over the top. April, the GM seemed interested that my stay was excellent. Kathy, the desk manager was efficient, friendly, and also wanted to make sure our stay was a good one. I will visit this property again next time I am in Huntersville. Other than cleanliness, the people at the hotel make the difference.
Very nice. Great location, well maintained.
Room was great, staff was super friendly, great experience.
Smokers Paradise. This place was disgusting. My family and I checked out within 5 minutes of checking in. I love IHG hotels and prefer Candlewood Suites, just not this one. I'm not sure how IHG audits their franchises, but this place needs to lose its IHG affiliation as it does not represent what I believe is the standard of neither IHG nor Candlewood Suites. Luckily for my family and I there was another Candlewood Suites 10 miles north.
Good location, clean rooms, reasonable rates, and friendly staff. Most rooms have a queen sized bed with small kitchen that has a refrigerator, stove top, toaster, and a few dishes and cookware.
Do not stay at this hotel.
Booked through reputable booking agency for work. As a non-smoker who is allergic to by-products of cigarettes, I always confirm non-smoking room on the hotel's rates. I had a confirmed king bed non-smoking room. Upon arrival, I was told I booked the room wrong and that room types are never confirmed. There were apparently no other non-smoking rooms. I stayed in a king bed smoking room which was utterly disgusting and unsafe. I guess I could have expected the disconnected smoke detector (and bare wires). But the clogged toilet upon my arrival was insulting. Upon exiting the shower, I noticed the steam had collected on the ceiling and soot from cigarette smoke began dripping on the (already dirty) floor.
As a frequent traveler, Candlewood and IHG has lost my business.
