Staff was always very nice and helpful. When we checked in we found that many of the electrical receptacles did not work. We asked the front office about it and was told we had to flip a switch on the wall to make them work. Bathrooms were not clean, mold along the back of the tub and the tile. First night had no hot water in shower and it did not drain. Next morning we told the front office and they had maintenance turn the water temp up. Next nights shower was much better. Upon checkout, we were packing to leave and noticed a large stain on one of the mattresses. If we would have seen this the first night we would have checked out and found other lodging. This hotel has a lot of potential but serious attentions needs to be paid with the cleanliness and mechanical issues. Breakfast was good but not what they advertised on the website. We asked for a manager to give us a call and this is the second day since we checked out and still no phone call. I do not believe we will stay here again.

One of the best places to stay in Gatlinburg TN. It’s the best in its price range. The accommodations are wonderful! The breakfast was made fresh unlike any other breakfast ever! So amazingly good. The room was clean, with the feeling of antique vibes with a modern feel to it. The creek out back on our private patio was nice to watch. Our bathroom was clean as well as our sheets. The bed was soft. I would recommend and stay here again!

My husband and I just left today. We stayed for 4 nights to in celebration of our wedding anniversary. We are from Florida. We had a WONDERFUL experience all around at this hotel. Our room was spacious and lovely. We had a fireplace in our room and a private balcony that overlooked the powerful creek. The complementary breakfast was BOMB- sooo good for complimentary breakfast! Hot eggs, potatoes, pancakes, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy and then orange juice, cereal, bagels and coffee. Awesome! Service was great and the grounds were very well kept. In a safe area just a $.50 trolley ride away from downtown or a short car ride away from the Smoky Mountains National Park. Wed love to come back! We were sad to leave!

Room is great. Staff is great. Mattress not so much. Distance is just barely too far to be able to comfortably walk to the main strip. Still have to drive and pay for parking.

My room was dated, not in the cool retro, 1960's look but old, the furniture look as if it came from a garage sale. Nice working fire place, however noticable smoke damage to the ceilings. Although they did a good job masking the smoke order, my close smelled of smoke long after. This place could be better if they up graded the rooms to match the nice bathrooms.

Rented rooms through Expedia. We were put in the old side. My room had a turn of the century air conditioner with one speed, low. Beds were okay. Small TV. Shower barely worked. I guess overall it served it's purpose, a place to sleep and wash up. Recommend the other side of the Hotel rooms are much nicer!!

My room backs right up to the brook and could be amazing. Alas it is not. Carpet is severely stained. Room entryway was dirty with leaves and a flip top from a soda can. Chair was badly stained. Everything else is just ok. Hot tub too cool. Only 3 jets that did not hit my back. Wish things were better taken care of. It certainly has potential!

Room was very spacious and had a suitable rustic charm, however it was clear that the room had not been checked prior to my arrival. The A/C was off leaving the room extremely humid. Also the room has a multitude of small fly-like insects in it, as though a Windows had recently been open. Having grown up in the woods, this didn't bother me, but the fact that there were numerous dead insects on the pillows and bed sheets was more disconcerting. Our room was at the extreme end of the resort property, which rendered the free WiFi completely unusable. Pool area seemed clean, but hadn't been skimmed for leaves that day. Pool hours and weekend office hours are good, but weekday hours and laundry room hours will leave late travellers and night owls annoyed. On the plus side, the staff was friendly. Also the shower's water pressure was fantastic! I've not had such a satisfying shower in years. In short,it's an old, but adequate property with reasonable prices. Extremely picky folks or those with expectations of a high attention to detail need not apply.

This was our first time staying at this resort and we enjoyed it very much. The room was very clean with a balcony overlooking the creek. The pool was amazing and kept the kids entertained for hours. There was also easy access to the creek. Very convenient to downtown. We will definitely stay again.

Wow! This place really caught us off guard. It was a lot less expensive than the other options just a little closer to town, so our hopes were not high. When we got there, however, we were so blown away. Staff was insanely courteous and gave great reviews for attractions around town. The lobby was really lovely and they sold firewood and handmade mugs and vases. Walking out of the lobby you are greeted with a huge pool with a waterfall and TWO waterslides. Not to mention a hot tub!! Our room was awesome as well. We paid very little for it, but the room was very large with a king sized bed, a couch, a balcony, and a fireplace. The whole thing looks a little on the older side but it has been kept up with quite well. The bathroom had been remodeled recently but the rest of the room seemed relatively untouched. We weren't blown away by the breakfast but it did have hot coffee and make your own Belgium waffles. What more could you ask for??

Pretty good the first night. Second night the room wasn't as nice, as we booked two different room types. I liked the sound of the brook out back. Humble place, not especially luxurious, but it was affordable and clean enough.

Room was cleaned every other day. We had a large dead bug of some sort in front of the fridge for the first 3 days. Some of the room lights did not work. Room key stopped working and had to be replaced. Very dark room, with bad lighting. Kind of old and run down. It did have a nice balcony looking at the river, but if the room door closed you could not get back in because the back door lock did not work. Not worth the price.

We stay at Brookside every time we come to Gatlinburg. It is very reasonable as far as pricing and the staff is nice and accommodating. It is a little down the main strip from everything but a trolley picks up right in front of the hotel if you don't want to walk. A bonus is the private balconies with a stream running by. A great value at Brookside!

Management in the office were very nice. They have is a map to locate our room easier. My only issue is that when we got into our room there was a hair tie left behind on the night stand. There was also a spot under the other night stand that looked like it hadn't been vacuumed.. Other than that it was very peaceful. We were right along the riverside so if running water helps you sleep, open up the window and it's wonderful!
