The room definitely needs to be updated. The carpet has a couple of stains, the furniture has a few spots where it was swollen with water, and while there's a few other fixable issues, it's not a bad stay. It's a short walk from downtown. Since we arrived we have not had to get back in the car. And the room itself, in spite of issues, gets the job done. It has a shower, it has a bed, and it has storage for my clothing. That's all that really matters.

Rooms were cozy and the views were amazing. Perfect location though to see the town and wishing walking distance of everything down town, and if not feeling like a walk trolley picks up right in front every 20 mins for only 50 cents. The pool is an amazing area and very beautiful

Unfortunately our first night staying here we got ate up by bed bugs!!! We got in late Friday night and went straight to bed, in the morning we discovered we were covered in bites and after turning down the bed sheets and inspecting the beds we discovered they were infested. My poor mother was ate up the most with bites all over her neck and chest, both arms and legs and along her back and stomach.

We called the front office and they did respond right away by moving us to a new room on a different floor and they dried our clothing several times in an attempt to kill any that might have crawled onto our belongings.

There wasn't an issue with their customer service exactly. They responded promptly but they just weren't really concerned about it, like they were just going through the motions. I was shocked to learn how common it is for them to have issues with bed bugs. The manager told me it was a regular thing with guest bringing them in and that they train the staff to inspect the mattresses but that in our room it was the box spring that was infested so they wouldn't have noticed. Personally, there's no way that room was being properly cleaned and inspected on a regular basis. That level of infestation doesn't pop up over night!

There's definitely a lack of cleanliness in the rooms and hotel overall that was very noticeable and probably a contributing factor to why they're infested with bed bugs. While I'm sure every hotel has their experiences with them just because of all the people traveling in and out, you still have to treat and spray regularly to maintain your business. Otherwise you put all your customers in danger! We will definitely invest in a better hotel next time as it's just not worth the risk!

Very good place to stay. It was clean and everyone was very nice. Parking was sort of tight, and don't know about the dining area, never could catch it open. Our room with the balcony was wonderful. Saw all types of wildlife. Will definitely stay their again!!!!!

Although the decor is a bit outdated, the motel exudes such charm and character, you'll barely notice!
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find an immaculately clean room with access to a private veranda, which overlooks a picturesque creek! This place definitely has a mom & pop feel. The entire staff made us feel valued and appreciated. (In stark contrast to chain hotels, which offer overpriced rooms with upscale decor, rude staff, and ummwell, that's about it.)
Thank you, Sydney James. We had a wonderful three-day experience!

Good for the price. Everything is dated and old. Shower temp changes drastically when anyone on the floor uses water. Got a non-smoking room but could smell smoke coming from other rooms. The location is great. The rooms are very clean! Creekside rooms are nice. You can hear the creek all nightits relaxing! Trolley stop is right in front but walking to the main street is easy too. Staff is very friendly and for her price I think it's great.

I was able to get a smoking room (I know) which is becoming rare these days. The balcony overlooking the roaring creek was great and it was all you could hear at night. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the staff very friendly. The walk to downtown was reasonable, the walk back uphill doable for even an old man with worn out knees. A great bbq place nearby and trolley stop out front. Very close to Roaring Fork Nature Trail (which I recommend highly) and bear sightings frequent. Down side: the bathroom sink drained slowly, the fridge door didn't seal properly which kept it from cooling well and general updates were needed but I didn't stay in the room much anyway. All in all, this was great value for the money and I'll be staying here again.

Nice clean rooms. Nice downhill walk to the main drag. There is a trolley stop so you can opt for a ride. Small balcony overlooking a creek is a nice feature. Room included a small refrigerator.

Well, to start off, we walked into our room and seen that the carpet had a couple of holes in it. One of the beds has a broken box spring under the matress. And the TV had poor picture quality.. overlooked those issues only because I only walk on the carpet, I can only sleep in one bed at a time, and I didn't come on vacation to watch TV. They have a decent pool outside, a nice inside grotto, a sauna, and a hot tub. What bothered me was that their poolside cafe class that they have steak dinner and will deliver to your room, but both times that I called they were out of steak dinner!?!?!? Their plumbing is a little less than desirable, there was no toilet paper in the room when we got there and the sliding door is either off track, or the rollers don't work. It really wouldn't be a bad place to come back to as long as they address these simple little issues. We had room 214.

My wife and I are staying in a Jacuzzi room and we like it. There are mirrors above the bed, that may be a plus or a minus for you, but something good to know. They have a heated indoor pool and it is warm. We loved it. There's also a hot tub and a sauna in the same pool area. Breakfast is offered, but not continental. Overall we love our experience here.

My husband and I stayed here 12 years ago for our honeymoon and it was great! We went back this past Easter weekend and I have to say i was a little disappointed. Maintenance/updating is definitely a need. The pool needed to be cleaned it had so much floating around in it that we couldn't get in. Toilets were old and barely flushed and things in the rooms were falling apart. (Dressers and such) our back sliding glass door to the balcony wouldn't even open unless my husband picked it up to move it. We did see a black bear up close and personal. all in all the best part of the stay was the balcony. Hearing the rush of the water and seeing all the nature was relaxing. Until updates are done I don't think we'll be coming back which makes me sad. I can't fully recommend this hotel. Not for the high price that was paid and what we got for it. :*(

My wife and I had an awesome experience here. We want to commend all the staff for their friendliness. Great location! Always being able to step out the back to a beautiful running stream was my favorite. Being able to see a Huge Black Bear on that stream was icing on the cake for us. I've come to Gatlinburg my self for 40 years and it is my home away from home and you all have cemented your place in our memories for a wonderful stay. The only thing I saw that you might want to do is add a microwave to all the rooms and check the electrical plugs..our room had some loose plugs so we couldn't use those but other than that it was great! We will be back next year and hopefully bringing the rest of the family with us.
