We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and we were so pleased we found it. Good value for the money we paid. Great location, rooms very clean, friendly staff. We want to give special mention to Dana and Karan, they both showed outstanding customer service and assisted us every time we needed.
Next time we visit Auckland we would go back there for sure.

Econo lodge
Positives:
Central city location,
Close to the casino
Staff helpful and gave good advise

Neutral:
Small room but it was expected but not tiny
There Is limited free wifi but had to ask staff about it
Under the blankets it's really warm,good for winter

Negative:
Shower is small and stainless steel floor but at least the hot water is strong and works
Sometimes the toilet after flushing,keeps making this noise for a while and takes a while before you can flush again
The carpet felt dirty
Has a old feel to it
You can here people speaking in the corridor
You can here the outside buzzer when people are allowed to cross the road
The bed has sloping to one side

Would I stay here again,I would be leaning towards no,stay on a weeknight,if it was the weekend I couldn't imagine the noise

Better for people with little to no luggage, no car, and don't intend to eat in. Really good location with the Aotea Center and food near by including a grocery store. Overnight guest in a standard queen room. Parked in the garage shared with the Crown Plaza, but had to go out and around the building to get to reception (it is not connected to the garage in any way). Kind of a hassle if you have larger pieces of luggage. The room was tiny. Barely any moving space around the bed, the shower was just a curtain so the floor got really wet, the fan didn't work so humidity built up, and no microwave either in the room or for guest to share. Did provide a kettle, cups and breakfast drinks in the room. Breakfast is for not included, about NZD $7-10.

Pretty standard sort of place tucked in the centre of Auckland.. The room we stayed in was probably a bit pricey for what it was but the easy access we had to close by restaurants made life easy

The hotel is very old and is expensive for what it is. Only book the standard double room if you have no other option. Do not book with Expedia. It was advertised as a Mystery Hotel with up to 40% off. I paid $160 NZD when the hotel website priced the same room at $142 NZD. I checked the hotel website right after I booked. Also the Expedia advertised price was $112. Until I got the receipt for $160. No where was there any mention of prices in USD, only when I got the confirmation from Expedia. Overall I'm very disappointed with Expedia and the room.
