Very convenient location - walking distance from the central train station and right in downtown close to everything in Amsterdam. Helpful staff. Rooms are small but comfortable. Noise isolation inside the hotel could be better.

I would totally stay here again. I feel like a lot of these reviews are overly harsh.

That being said, I got a good deal on my stay through Agoda, so I feel like I got decent value for my money. Amsterdam is just generally expensive. My bed in an 8 dorm mixed hostel was 90€ a night and this was around $160CAD per night, so not really that much more.

Pros: amazing location, clean comfy rooms, good wifi (I got some work done), friendly staff, decent breakfast (I don't know what people expect for an included continental?), kettle, hair dryer, fan, my room even had a lovely view out the back of the building

Cons: it is in an historical Amsterdam building which means tight, steep stairs and no lift. I expected this going in, as I had already had a few days in Amsterdam, but that could be a deal breaker if you have mobility issues. If that is the case, call around wherever you're planning to stay. It's common in Amsterdam to have steep stairs.

Thank you for a lovely stay!

The interior is nice, the shower is Nordic style, which suits us(though a floor sweeper would be nice to have there as well). Special nice points were the tea cattle with tea bags and cups and a powerful hair dryer. The bed was a bit too soft.
The stairs were steep so avoid heavy suitcases and going them too drunk/high, but that's in most houses in Amsterdam.
Our window was kinda facing the roof of the inner yard area, which was probably better than the busy street on the other side.
The location is perfect to explore the city on foot, but that's obvious.
The breakfast takes place in the pizzeria next door :) and it's generally ok, nothing extra good or bad.
If you have problems with neighbors do not hesitate to contact the staff, they are quite helpful and friendly.

We recently stayed in the family room with 4 beds. It was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Steep stairs and no lift which is understandable as the hotel is right in the heart of old Amsterdam.( Personally this added to the charm.) So makes it an ideal location.
Breakfast of hot boiled eggs, a selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurts, toast, pastries, fruit juices, coffee and selection of teas was perfect.
We would all definately use this hotel again.
A big thank you to all the the staff.
    :)

Hotel was great mainly for the location. Right outside the hotel, you have access to all the markets, events, and even the Red Light District all within a 5 minute walking distance. Service was bad, the lady at the front desk had a bad attitude, which is understandable but also unnecessary. The rooms were clean and comfy, not bad at all. The view was amazing though.

Close to Dam Square and lots of restaurants literally on the same street for all tastes. The breakfast is cereal, toast, salmon, ham, cheese with tea and coffee. No lift and the staircase can be tight if you have problems with stairs. You drop you suitcase in the day before you stay in your room. The staff are very friendly and helpful if you're lost in a busy city like Amsterdam. I would stay here again.

This hotel is an awesome place with comfortable rooms and many restaurants around. It's also in a good location, very close to almost everything in Amsterdam. The only problem is that it's no acssesable for wheel chairs.

There's no elevator so its a bit inconvenient if you have luggage. The location is great since it's close to everything, but at night the streets can be fairly noisy till very late. Reception was really friendly and helpful.

Our locked room was broken into and robbed on the last night of our stay. The neighbouring room was also broken into. There are only three keys to the room, two in our possession and one with the staff. Over $1500 in cash and electronics were stolen. Police reports have been filed and the hotel is under investigation. The hotel responded to our concerns by claiming they were not liable for the theft and will not even refund us for our stay.

Staying here is unsafe and we advise you to please choose a different hotel!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Awful experience. The rooms were tiny, the staff was extremely unhelpful and my room got robbed of all of my money and my laptop on the last night of my stay. The neighbouring room to mine was also robbed. The only people with keys to the room were myself and the hotel staff, which leads me to suspect hotel personnel of the theft. The manager refused to do anything to make up for the theft and handled the situation in an extremely unprofessional manner. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
