I want to take this opportunity to express my appreciation & gratitude to the Activities/ Entertainment crew. These guys are talented and very hardworking. They keep you active and engaged by the pool during daytimes, and keep you entertained by their live performances at night. You should have seen their Michael Jackson tribute last night; awesome. Sharon & I are going to miss them, and yet look for a return trip.

This hotel used to be a very nice hotel which felt like a 2nd home. We visited this place for 20+ years. Unfortunately over the last 2 years it has become a place where I can't even get an extra small bed delivered to accommodate us! The management will do its best to delay and refuse to literally lift a finger to make us happy! It baffles me to be so well served for so long and all of a sudden have them become so obtuse and uncooperative for something so easy to handle. If you come here be assured that what you have will be the only thing that you'll get! No accommodation will be done to make you happy even if it is lifting a finger!

I'm very happy I chose this resort. The staff have been very helpful and friendly. The facilities are 30 years old, though the maintenance is ongoing and it is very clean. Our room is spotless and everything in the resort is continually cleaned and tidied throughout the day. The food is mostly good, some is exceptional. The a la carte restaurant food is somewhat inconsistent, but still decent overall. Kids club, animation team, room services, were staffed with wonderful people. On the downside, there is little evening entertainment; if it's important to you, then you will need to go off the resort after dinner. For the price, this resort is a solid value.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at this resort! We tried dinning with reservations at the Oriental, Mexican and Italian restaurants. The Mexican place is a bit on the low end but the Oriental and Italian restaurants are classy. The three restaurants are worth a shot! The buffet has great food and super friendly staff. It's worth leaving a $1 or $2 tips every time you eat or drink and before you know staff will go even more out of their way to make your stay a great experience. On the low side, you would get timeshare sales pressure and it does appear you cannot run away fast enough from them. Although the experience was great I felt uncomfortable handing out a copy of my passport at check in. I wonder how they will protect my personal information and when will it be destroyed? Except for timeshare pressure and copying my passport at check in, all else was fantastic! I will keep this resort on my short list.

We stayed there a couple of years ago and it wasn't at all what I expected for an "all inclusive" resort. If you're paying for all inclusive, all inclusive is what you should get. That means you shouldn't have to make reservations to get into the restaurants that they advertise. When they say restaurant reservations are full, they really are not. They only fill them half way, which is a rip off. They want to keep as many people as they can out of the nice restaurants so they have no choice but to eat at the buffet, which makes it cheaper for the hotel. Instead of giving you their best they want to go cheap on you. Alcohol is the same way. The alcohol is not top shelf. It's cheap and they water it down. Instead of giving you good quality alcohol they give you cheap stuff with water in it. WIFI was horrible.The staff weren't very friendly and kept chasing us down trying to get us to look at time shares which got annoying. Once when my wife and I were going to look at a presentation outside the resort, one of the staff members followed us down the walkway to the cab that was waiting on us trying to see where we were going. They didn't like it that we were going to look at a presentation somewhere else. They acted like vultures. The beds were hard as rock. Terrible stay. Will never go back. Save your money and go to the Moon Palace or one of the other Palace resorts. Those are real, top notch resorts. What they advertise is exactly what you get. Palace resorts are luxury at it's finest. When you stay at a Palace resort, not only do you have access to everything at the Palace resort you are staying at, but when you have a wrist band on you're allowed access to ALL OF THE FIVE PALACE RESORTS IN THE AREA!!! You're actually allowed to just go hang out at all the other Palace resorts in the area. That means, for instance, instead of just the 5 restaurants in your hotel, you have access to all of them in the Palace chain - more than 20 restaurants to eat at!!! And no reservations either. Just walk into any restaurant at the resort and eat there. They're extremely nice and you get so much more for your money, and they don't keep telling you "no" like at Grand Park. They're all about keeping customers happy. Grand Park just wants you to buy a timeshare from them.

Hotel is very clean. Had a lovely room with a sea view that was very clean and modern. Couldn't have really wanted much more from the room. Staff are amazing and very attentive. Food was of very good quality and the restaurants are a nice addition. Wouldn't recommend the steak restaurant. Expected a higher quality of food and service especially when paying an additional charge where in reality the food was sub par and one of the waiters extremely rude. All in all it was a nice hotel and holiday.

Overall it was a good experience; however there was no liquor in the mini bar and you were limited only to 2 beers a day. They don't start serving alcohol until after 10am which is a real shame, even then, the did not always have Xtabentun stocked. You can expect rail and call liquors but nothing top shelf or of any real note.
The food was good; however, it would have been nice if el Oriental was opened. Not sure if they're remodeling or if it's just permanently closed.
Their bar indoors needs to be remodeled, it is in soar shape.

Hotel itself is a nice place and has various venues. Not the best but in this area is solid choice. Wifi is very bad and don't expect much there, sometimes is difficult to listen online radio and not to mention YouTube. Food is great and they offer various restaurants in the hotel area, through, for some you must make a reservation during the day, so it's not as easy in case you booked this hotel during business days. Another fact that can drive you mad after few days is that the place is huge, so I had the situation where my door lock stopped working and it takes about 10mins to reach lobby, then they did the fix, I came back but key wasn't working, so I had to go back (because there are no phones around). Also, when you are awake, prepare yourself for some walk to get to breakfast place 😁. on the good side, the staff is very friendly (but not many are familiar with English, so you can talk as much as you like, they just smile and have no idea what you're talking about) all in all it's good retreat but not as good as you would expect for the money you pay. There are plenty of places with half of this price that offer almost the same.

We absolutely love this place! We come every year to visit for a week! We have a timeshare and really enjoy the property, location, beach, food and customer service. 5 stars all the way! You will love it!

- Amazing location: You can't really go wrong with any of the hotels in the area in terms of location. They're all right along the gorgeous beach and close to the airport. - Delicious food: The buffet food was great. The oriental restaurant was yummy too, but it was exemplary for its ambience and interior design. - LOUD: We had room 1006 on the ground floor near a heavily-trafficked area. Yikes! Not easy to sleep. - Beautiful rooms, comfy beds - Pretty shower, but the drain couldn't drain the water from the THREE shower heads fast enough, so we ended up showering in a puddle. Ew. - Minibar included (including bottled water, soft drinks, and beer). The tap water is supposedly filtered - we didn't try it. - Super friendly service that made me feel very welcome. Overall a great experience made less-than-perfect by the loud room and overflowing shower.

The Hotel is located on one of the world best beaches, has all the entertainment and access to special events and shows. We selected the all-inclusive option and did not pay an extra cent for food and drinks except for the odd tip to staff for outstanding service. You will be approached at some stage for a two hour time share sales pitch but remember it is optional and you're free to decline. I upgraded to the beach side Royal Towers and was extremely satisfied. You will love your experience at this hotel.

Great medium sized resort with 2 pools: adult pool and family pool. Family pool was bigger with event staff playing games (Edwin was the great!). Adult pool was infinity style with a swim up bar. The beach was lacking, without the best areas to swim, but the pools are where we spent most of our time. The Italiano restaurant was fantastic for both breakfast and dinner, just make sure to make a reservation for dinner. Buffet was just alright. Taco stand was fantastic on select nights. Staff was all extremely pleasant. Overall, very nice stay.

This was a spot my friends and I chose to stay while visiting Cancun for a Bachelor Party. The staff were super friendly, and eager to assist with any requests or questions. There were plenty of places around the resort to grab a drink, and the food options were plentiful. Plus, the view for the rooms was fantastic, with a direct view of the Caribbean just a hundred feet away. All in all, I highly recommend this place.

This was by far one of my favorite hotels that I've stayed at so far. We stayed in one of the deluxe villa rooms which came with a balcony that had a personal pool with views and direct access to the beach. The villas also came with a butler and he was so friendly. We were able to make reservations for dinner, reserve a cabana on our private section of the beach and order countless drinks and snacks through our butler. The room had two double beds, the bathroom had a rainfall shower and a window with a view to the beach. The food was amazing. We ate at the buffet for breakfast most days and made reservations at the various restaurants on-site. We were very surprised that not many people were dining at the restaurants because they were so gorgeous and all were at least three course meals. Everything was all inclusive so the drink and food options were endless. This was a great place for families, couples or friends.

When I first got to the hotel to check in i was told that the hotel was full & had sold out of my room type but they would upgrade my suit as an inconvenience and also cut me a deal on the total amount due. I repeatedly asked over and over again, "are you sure?" "are you sure this is all I will need to pay?" I went alone and had a budget so I didn't need an upgrade. The staff member assured me that the no cost upgrade was due to an inconvenience. The food was terrible, the basic soft drinks were terrible. At first glance by sight the hotel rooms appear nice but once you look closer it appears to be mold in the bathroom showers, the tables and night stands in the rooms are old and damaged. Lastly, when it was time for me to check out the lines were way too long and I had a flight to catch so I decided to skip that process due to the fact that when the staff memember who checked me in originally had already charged my credit card and had given me a receipt and proceeded to catch a taxi. As I walked out the front door I was chased down like a criminal, told I owed additional money, the staff surrounded me, tried snatching my luggage out of my hand along with my phone, passport and wallet. Called the police, I was forced to pay this additional money that I never agreed to in order to leave the resort. Black woman, being harassed, treated like an animal & laughed at by Police and staff as White Americans stood around and watched. Worst experience I've ever had in my life. The broken English is all a marketing tool.

Room service charged me $15 USD for 4 bottles of water. I wanted to order more water but was told that 4 was the maximum order for water Originally tried asking the front desk for water, but was told the only way was to call room service. It's crazy there aren't other means to get water during off hours at a "all inclusive" resort. More like un-inclusive resort.
The buffet food is terrible, alcoholic drinks are all premixed and taste like pure sugar, and staff the is rude.
I would strongly recommend against staying here. I'd rather pay for quality than quantity.response / report this review -

Amazing service here, staff were all friendly and helpful. Resort is very clean and well maintained, food was delicious and they always have exceptional variety. Our room and view was absolutely beautiful! Love it here, will be back every year for sure.

We arrived at The Grand Park Royal on February 25 th and stayed six days. The resort has the best staff anywhere! The restaurants located on the resort were absolutely amazing! Food was wonderful and the selection of the food was fabulous. We want to thank all the staff for going above and beyond to take care of all our needs. We can't wait to come again! 5 of my sisters and I spend a week at this resort, and we absolutely LOVED it. The staff was friendly, (for the most part) the food at the buffet was fresh and varied daily. The whole resort was very clean. We went to the beach everyday swimming in the ocean with clear water and beautiful white sand. I highly recommend this resort, we plan to go back!
