This resort has a nice layout making everything easily accessible. The main lobby is all open air and allows you to easily navigate around. There are a few shops and pharmacy's inside to get anything you would need.
The food and drinks are good, but not great. The resort only has 4 restaurants, 2 of which are reservation only. The best we had was the seafood. The other 3 were OK, but nothing I'd say I was crazy for. The drinks at all the bars are made well, and are definitely potent. The bartenders are very friendly and have great attitudes.
The resort has 3 pools, one of which is adult only. The adult side is the only one where appropriate shade is available. They have huts that cover two chairs and a table. If you do want good seating, it is competitive, but 7-8 AM is early enough to get grab a spot.
We did do the privileged level suite with an oceanfront view and would definitely recommend this. The privileged wrist band allows you access to a lounge that is fully stocked with beverages, non alcoholic and alcoholic, fresh fruit, and pastries. We were in and out all week grabbing things as we needed. Top shelf alcohol is available with the privileged wristband. It also allows you to book the day before for the reservation restaurants, so you have priority seating.
The beach was nice, groomed, and had clear water. There were sets of chairs lined up for lounging. Each set of chairs were around a palm tree which provided some shade, but it was not enough to escape the sun completely. Be aware that the only place to completely escape the sun is either inside the hotel, or the adult pool under a cabana or hut. The beach was also covered in Seaweed, and floating in the water. After walking up and down the beach, this seems to just be common for Cancun.
It was a good week at the resort. I wish there was more variety with restaurants, but it all worked out. The beach, ocean, and views were nice, and the pools were OK. The drinks were refreshing and they had a good variety. The nightly shows were entertaining, but don't expect anything over the top. If you are English speaking, there were no issues with a language barrier, all of the staff spoke English. All the events are announced said in Spanish and English.response / report this review -

Beautiful common areas and great beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is buffet food don't expect the best meal of your life. The roomsthe bed is surprisingly comfy but the rooms themselves are outdated and ugly. That said I'm not here to stay in the room much. I will absolutely stay here again

Thank you so much! My sister"s birthday was a blast! Everyone catered to her all week, Alberto the bartender was amazing and his partner Nancy she was great!! They planned a little something special for my sister without us even asking. Ulises Pinedo I think he was the Manager, you were the best! Once again thank you for a great an unforgettable vacation!! You guys Rock!!

Just got back!! Great time!! Great hotel and excellent service!! The food was good!! Bartenders Jose, Antonio, Cesar and Felix were outstanding and entertaining!! A shout out to Pablo too!! Great pool service!! This was our 2nd time here and will definitely return again!!

This was our first trip to Cancun Mexico. From the time we arrived at this wonderful Resort we were greeted with the warmest greetings from an amazing staff. The rooms were well decorated and updated and very clean. With four restaurants three pools and a dedicated adult pool. Fairly private nice spot on the beach with palm trees just a very short distance from the resort. All-inclusive with amazing food and Hospitality we will definitely go there again.

Had a great time! Hotel was very clean and the room was amazing. Online pictures accurately represent the resort. Food was also very good (mexican lindo restaurant was our favorite). The beach was gorgeous and only steps from our room. Our only compliant was the constant push to have us attend the "celebration breakfast" AKA timeshare meeting. Would highly recommend for those looking to relax at a smaller resort.

Nice resort with a very friendly staff. I got the suite which was right in front of the beach but the shrubs and wall kind of obstruct your view. I might stay on a higher floor next time. Food was above average. Drinks were good but which they were serve a larger cups. Overall good experience.

Unfortunately, my stay at this resort has been the worst experience ever!! The waiters/servers, bar tenders and cleaning service were great. The food and cocktails were horrible. The rooms and towels definetly need to be updated. The front desk people were rude. I've had a way better experience at the Days Inn!! Please use your money wisely and spend it at another hotel/resort.

Nice people, nice pools and amenities. Rooms need a little updating but overall nice for the money. Shows lack zest but would be better if held outside. Food is normal resort food, nothing spectacular but not horrible. The bartenders and staff are super nice and accommodating. The beach is amazing; not sure you can beat the beautiful view and white sand of the Caribbean! It was relatively flat with no rocks. No complaints here!

It is a great hotel. Food is delicious and you have different options to eat all day. Service attention is really good, all employees are available and happy to help you. The sea, is the best sea I have ever seen. Water is clear and almost blue. I recommend a lot this hotel

We stayed here for a short vacation in February 2017. The ocean view is beautiful. Our room was nice, clean, and had a comfortable bed. Food was very good with good selections. We've stayed at better places but we enjoyed our stay here. They had our reservation for the wrong dates for some reason so we got bumped to another Occidental hotel for the first night. We were very happy to come back here and received a complimentary upgrade to "club level", or whatever they called it, which was a nice gesture but not worth paying for. It's not a good choice for kids but we would probably come back here again for a quick getaway.

The only reason I'm giving one star is because of the bar staff and waiters. Do not stay here. The hotel says all inclusive but they still find a way to charge you for small reasons. I expected to come here and not worry about spending too much because the food and drinks were included. I ended up spending more money than I thought because every time I ate the food in the hotel I threw up. I thought room service would be better but that made me sick too. Ruined my trip. I work in a restaurant and they do not keep the buffet up to health standards. The hot food is kept barely warm all day which means it's just constantly growing bacteria. And the cold food means it's room temperature. If anyone i know even thinks about going to Cancun I will make sure they don't stay here.

DO NOT TRUST! Stayed here for spring break and while everything was to be expected for a budget all-inclusive, I had numerous items stolen out of my room from the maid service. Absolutely do not tip them, because even if you do they will steal your clothing. When I contacted management about it, they said they would launch an investigation. After a day I received an email saying they had no proof of the matter and would do nothing about it. I tried calling and they kept hanging up on me. Lock your suitcase and don't trust anything left out in the room from sunglasses, to shorts.

The people were great. Food was not flavorful. They do not allow your guest in without paying. They only place 2 wash cloths and 4 dry towels even though they know it's 4 people in the room. I have ever to argue why I needed more towels. All in all bartenders were great, photographers were great.

Occidental resorts are very nice. The staff was very friendly. They have a variety of activities for children. The spa was very nice. And the staff treated us very kindly and gave us directions to the nearby mall. Thank you for making it a great and memorable vacation!
