I loved this place. The staff is friendly, views are great and the food was amazing. We had wifi in the lobby/bar area, but not in our room. The beach was clean and the spa was nice. Only a short bus or taxi ride from a decent sized mall with several gift shops. I miss this place already.
My sister and I had a great experience at Westin and we were traveling to Cancun for the first time. They do have a very good beach. Everyone was very helpful and sweet. Special thanks to Alejandro who accommodated us in a beautiful room. Aldo who was super sweet and helpful guiding us with all the places and ways to travel and Ximena for taking time to explain the various attractions. Had a great experience and would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a hotel in Cancun.
While I was staying at this resort, I had a horrible experience during my appointment with the Westin Vacation club. Specifically, I met with Alfonso in order to explore the prospect of owning a time share. Alfonso verbally abused me, which I felt was undeserved. Near the end of this appointment, he snapped at me and swiftly asked, "is there a laughing matter here?" When all I did was express excitement at the time share prospects he was presenting. Needless to say, this incident left me quite distraught, and it took me the rest of the day to get over my maltreatment from Alfonso. I abandoned this prospect of investing in a time share because of the horrible way I was treated by him.
Overall the rest of my stay at this resort was good. This horrible experience of verbal abuse from Alfonso during my meeting at the Westin Vacation Club put a damper on part of my vacation and was a low point, which is why I provided a one star rating.
Enjoying our stay! Beautiful views, friendly staff, good food, very comfortable room. This hotel is located on the south end of the hotel zone at kilometer 20 (for reference, the party zone is somewhere around kilometer 7) so it's relatively peaceful down here. But the city buses stop nearby every 5 minutes and the fare is only 12 pesos. We've been impressed by the restaurants, with a variety of healthy selections, great flavors, and even pretty quick delivery via room service. We are Westin fans!
Upon check in it took about 15 minute process, we arrived early so our room was not ready. Once we got to our room it was very spacious with a beautiful balcony view of the beach. We were on the top floor 6th. We had the breakfast buffet the next morning which had everything, great quality, made to order omelets, lunches were good with a decent selection. Waiters were attentive, Waiters were also very visible at the beach. Check out was pretty efficient. Overall a lovely stay
We were moved to the royal beach club upon arrival. The room we received was very damp and muggy. Asked for a room change and they were very accommodating. The area was very nice and clean. Beach had beautiful views and the pool was a nice add on to the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and it was a wonderful stay other than our muggy room.
Spent a quick night over with the family. Kids loved the beach location, pool got boring quite fast(main pool is just a square shape) Service was excellent, everyone went over and above to make sure we were comfortable. Hotel was being renovated, for obvious reasons when we got there. I wouldn't pick the hotel again in its current state(not when there are so many options). But when renovations are complete(sometime 2018ish), I would give it another go.
Great food and drinks at the resort. The hotel is being remodeled and the renderings of the new rooms look great! Should be completed by end of this year. Looking forward to hearing back after the remodel.
We're staying in the Royal Beach club part of the hotel, which is pretty nice with it's own pool, Beach area and bar. The rooms are good size, but the interior is a bit dated and not sure whether an interior decorator was ever involved, out what they were thinking. Given the size of the room, you can make it so much nicer with just some smarter organizing and furniture. However the hotel is undergoing phased renovation, so maybe it will be much better soon. One thing that puzzles me is that the seaweed isn't cleaned off the beach. The restaurants are not bad, but pricy and uninspired. Overall it's a fine hotel though.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Westin Resort & Spa for 5 nights in the deluxe ocean view room. The view was spectacular but the room was anything but. The day we arrived the electricity went out and our room smelled like wet paint. Once the electricity kicked in the Air conditioning only masked the smell. To top it off some of the room furniture was dirty and we had to ask the staff to swap it out. These issues combined with Mexico's poor water system made the stay less comfortable. However, the staff at this hotel are top of the line and are very professional. I only wish the place could match their staff. The hotel is also undergoing construction so hopefully once it's complete all of these issues will change.
It wasn't worth the amount of money I paid to stay here. The room was outdated. I also got charged to microwave food that I bought from the hotel. I thought that was silly. The bright side was the ocean view and pools. That was nice. Restaurant service is a bit slow. The Arrecifes restaurant has better food than the other restaurants there.
Came here for a family vacation during Spring Break 2017. Absolutely horrible experience. We signed up for an all inclusive experience but instead were told that this place was NOT an all inclusive resort (even though it was advertised as one). Food and drinks are overpriced. No entertainment or things to do without having to dig in your pockets. Staff were cordial however. Would recommend this "resort" for business endeavors.
The Westin Resort was a very nice place to stay at. The beach was nice and the pools were good too. The rooms were simple yet clean and tidy and room service did a good job. All in all, a nice resort.
Stayed here for 2 nights, loved this place. Location is very good, at the very start of the hotel zone. Close to Airport. If you take a shuttle from airport this will be your first stop. You can take R1 & R2 bus which operate 24/7 and will take you to all the happening places & restaurants, even to the downtown. Rooms are very clean and a little vintage design. Good views from room depending on which side you get. The private beach is first class quality. Very clean and blue water and some good bars & restaurants with ocean view seating. Hotel service is good as well. The tour service is excellent, they will book you hassle less tours to nearest attractions. Will definitely recommend to a friend.
Ok so it's a nice place we got there on 1/15/17 everything was so nice and everyone was so nice. The next day our safe broke and wouldn't close I called them to come fix it they had us waiting for over and hr and never showed up. The next day Wednesday the refrigerator stopped working I called again told them it wasn't working and my safes still broken that they would come sometime during the day to fix both. Sunday comes and nothing was fixed they stole my social Security card that was left in a wallet stashed in my luggage and we just got back unpacked looked for it and no where to be found. I think it's a scam to mess with people's life's that they do it on purpose so they can rob you blind. Will never stay in any Westin hotel or resorts affiliated with Westin very upset of all the things I have to do now to protect my identity.
