My significant other and I loved this place. You're treated like royalty, the facilities are really nice (beds included), and the beach is pretty nice too aside from all of the seaweed. Just get the privileged package, it's WAY worth the extra money. It's the longest walk ever to get to the buffet from the buildings close to the beach and the room isn't air conditioned and the bugs are horrible. We only ate there once.
The drinks are poured strongly is the get the right server/bartender (find Enrique, he's the best!) The only bar that is open late at night is in the main building. It isn't air conditioned, but the wait isn't long.
Since we were privileged, we ate tapas breakfast and lunch every day at the Italian restaurant. By the third day, the wait staff recognized us. Tip them a couple of dollars every meal, and you are waited on hand and foot. Go to dinner early to avoid wait times. The only restaurant we didn't like was the Japanese restaurant, and that is because the food wasn't the American version of this cuisine. It was a little too weird for us.
We ordered room service a lot too. That food is just as good as the food you are served at restaurants.
Overall, we would totally come back to Catalonia. We loved it!

This place was amazing! It was so relaxing and I enjoyed the beach. The food here was very good. I loved that I could have fresh fruit for every meal.

Incredibly friendly staff! Very good food! Wifi is quite reliable and the layout of the resort makes navigating a breeze! We had issues when originally checking in as there had been a overbooking issue, but they quickly resolved it and made up for it and owned up to the mistake right away. Completely different experience here than dealing with the sister resort next door.

The rooms are comfortable. The customer The rooms are comfortable. The customer service is great. The beach was amazing although quite a bit of seaweed. The pool was very clean. the walk from our rooms to the lobby was fairly long. And one night we had to walk all the way back to the lobby after our key wouldn't work for our room. It would be nice if there was a second Lobby closer to the beach. The buffet is also by the lobby so it is a far walk from our room. Not much for the kids to do. The kids club is pretty much non-existent. But the Entertainment Group definitely always have things on the go. We had privileged status and I'm not sure if it was worth it. In the beach section there was only one waiter, so I wound up going to the bar myself quite a bit. a good little hotel if you just want to sit and relax or use it as a home base to travel around the Mayan.

This was our second stay here and we always enjoy it. It's smaller and quieter than other resorts and the staff is always very attentive and friendly. The pool and beach are nice and the new cafe is one of our favorite new spots. All the new renos and choices they made this year were smart and added to the experience. We love the bolognese at Toscana, and everything at the Terrace is amazing. Those are our two favorite restaurants there. The crepes and milkshakes by the pool are good too! We never go back to the same place twice so the fact that we did here is a good sign!

This was our first trip down in this area and could not ask for better! The staff right away makes you feel welcome and very friendly. All areas on the resort were extremely clean from the rooms, restaurants and public bathrooms. The beach is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of seating in both sunshine and shade. I love the fact that it's a smaller resort because it felt more of a personal experience between the friendliness of the staff and being able to meet new people! We are already working on planning our next trip back .

Beautiful resort! We stayed at the privilege part of the resort; well worth the small extra fee to upgrade. Great food (extra dining restaurants for the upgrade) , really nice staff, and the beach is soft white sand. Rooms are nice sized with comfortable beds, linens are soft, 3 different levels of firmness of pillows, and nice wood work. Double sink with big mirror in bath. No door shower with rain shower head and an additional power head to help get sand out of swim suit.

Beautiful beach and friendly staff! Nice room, nothing that particularly stood out about it. Food was not the quality I expected which was unfortunate. Not bad food just not great. The beach really was the saving grace! So beautiful, we enjoyed our experience and felt it was very relaxing.

Our family (2 adults and a 7 and 1 year old) enjoyed our stay. The pool isn't huge but is nice. Food is ok- honestly all inclusive's never have mind blowing food. The Tapas place was very good, which came with the privileged upgrade. Our room was updated and very clean. The staff were all awesome especially great with the kids! Beach was beautiful although pretty rough while we were there, but it was the time of year.

It's a beautiful place. Houses always seem fresh painted, all surrounding paths very green with coatis always on sight. It is very peaceful but still dynamic. There is always some event going on! The rooms are tidy, hygienic and very comfortable!
Quality food and restaurant options. Even the "regular" buffet is brilliant!
Staff is really nice and proactive. They are always looking forward to get you whatever you need/ask for.
The only negative point is that drinks/cocktails are mostly made with artificial juices. I really have to stress this out as this is a 5 star resort and they have a lot of fruit everywhere..except on drinks! Ok, I may being really picky on this but except this small issue, this is really paradise.

    Beautiful place !

Natural reserve full of coatis running around and living with us harmoniously.

The beach is breath-takingbeautiful scenery, clear water, gold fishes swimming between your legs, the pool is beautiful at night, 3 different restaurants that all serves great food. Tennis courts, archery rangethe staff is very friendly and efficient !

The rooms were not so great but since the beauty is outside

I was fortunate to stay there for almost two weeks and came back refreshed and ready for anything coming my way !

I recommend this place for a family get away !

The rooms are very nice, we were upgraded to a newer model one. Everyone was nice at the restaurants and bars. Lots of fun things to do. The food was bland but they do have to cater to alot of different cultures. Overall a very fun and relaxing trip.

Had the most amazing time!! Went for my b-day with my Boyfriend Food was amazing especially the restaurant that served tapas(had beautiful ocean view)! The Beach was beautiful it rained for two of the days we were there however, the hotel still had fun activities for the guests. There were alot of family's so if u were looking for more of a adults only atmosphere this probably isn't the place for you..
Overall had a great time, would definitely go to this resort again!! Maybe next time bring the kiddos! You should definitely upgrade to privileged for the food!

Hotel staff wonderful if not a bit forgetful and at times the language barrier seams to get in the way, food wonderful, disabled rooms very poor, if your in a wheelchair forget your independence! The flat walkways are undulating and in places far to steep for me to push myself and even my partner is struggling pushing me around! There are only 4 disabled rooms which are off the main walkway and down a very steep ramp (ok on the way down but not so much on the way back up!) The wildlife is amazing!

We were here in December. The staff, food and drink quality exceeded expectations. They upgraded our room as a courtesy as this was my wife's birthday gift.

Everything was amazing! Food was GREAT at all the restaurants. The resort looked wonderful, well taken care of. I loved the rainforest at the beach feeling. If wanted to stay busy the entertainment staff was always on hand with an activity and a big smile making you feel right at home. If wanted to sit by the beach and relax they will serve your drinks there. Room service was on point, I could go on and on. Can't thank them enough that was exactly the trip we needed! I will be back!

We had our honeymoon here and we love the beach. It's beautiful and very well maintained. Rooms are clean and the majority of the staff are friendly, although there are people that don't seem to be very happy to be serving you. In particular we had disappointing experiences at the bars. Internet is terrible and works only once in a while. In general it is going well, but or first visit was better
