Good location close to Happy Valley Racecourse. Usual hotel services plus free shuttle bus to various locations including Hong Kong Station.
Wonderful, child friendly hotel, with friendly staff, large rooms/suites, and a terrific view of the Jockey Club and city. Breakfast was a large selection of hot and cold foods, and located near to many restaurants and stores.
Room was clean. Bottled water was great. Cell phone was helpful. Front desk staff was cold.
I give it a star because it is at least clean
Service is terrible
Why would room service knock on a door with a sign privacy please??
I can't believe thisand so many times too
I couldn't even get a good sleep
Rooms are nice and well maintained. The restaurant on the 1st floor is great. Nothing to complain about, great experience
Excellent choice for choose of stay. Feel so appreciate, for allow can late check-out. also staff friendly with support. Room is spacious, toilet very impressive with bathtub and spacious
nice hotel. good location next to Happy Valley racetrack. got an upgrade to a king bed. worth it. free bottled water.
Great location in Wan Chai. Easy to get to the heart of the action in Hong Kong.
The hotel was high quality and a good price. Our room overlooked the happy valley racecourse - a must attend if you are there on a Wednesday night.
There is a gym. It has some good equipment including free weights, lay pull down machine, leg weight machine, stepper and treadmills.
Food was average, I’d recommend going for a walk to an actual restaurant rather then eating in.
Friendly staff. 10mns walk to nearest subway: causeway bay. Not much to do nearby. Direct bus to Stanley market across the hotel. Shuttle free bus to Hong Kong station where one can take direct train to the airport. Chinese restaurant quite good.
Great service and value for money! Welcome snacks and teddy bears for the kids. Free shuttle service to and from airport express station and around Hong Kong island. Breakfast was excellent with brunch menu. Each room is equipped with cellphones that you can take outside, with free local calls, IDD to select countries, and data roaming. Amazing value and experience, especially compared to other hotels!
Nice hotel. Convenient and clean. After meal, I'd like to take a walk and visit Zenxes Foot Retreat nearby. Take foot and body treatment. Very modern and professional. Totally relaxed. I enjoy it very much.
Stayed in early November 2017 in a superior room. Overall lovely hotel and room, house keeping excellent (if a little loud at times) very comfy bed, no view as windows frosted and closed but ac very good. The only real draw back here that stops it getting a five is the location. Aside from the race track there is nothing here, any convenience stores, cafes, restaurants etc are all within walking distance but not exactly round the corner either so please bear in mind if you have difficulty walking. Taxis are cheap and plentiful though if you have the room in your budget. The hotel guide book provided on reception is a little gold mine, every hotel should take note of this, great tips on shopping & eating along with detail on how to get there, absolute godsend. Didn't try the restaurant as the breakfast seemed expensive for what it was but I'm sure it was up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel. Overall a good experience and would recommend
Nice hotel, perfectly situated.. easy to get to anywhere from there via public transport. I'd stay there again.
The free smart phone that came with the room is a feature that I haven't seen before. Very handy.
The hotel staff were very helpful, especially the managers. When we ran into some unforeseen problems Agnes was super helpful. Thanks again!
The hotel staff is more friendly. The hotel is clean and smoke free. The family quadruple room isn't as big or decorated the same as the one in the photo. Everything in the photo is upon special request. The room service is quick and friendly, but the food isn't as good as I would like. Not much selection, especially for vegetarian or dairy free options.
The check in is pretty seamless, my view from the top floor was wonderful. The room is city standard but not cramped. The housekeeping keeps 4 bottles of watch in my room everyday. Staff are very courteous in general and helpful. The hotel is about 20 mins walk from the closest train station but there's free shuttle bus going to a few different places (train station, air train check in) that are very nice but schedule may or may not work for you. But overall I am quite satisfied
The room that I had originally booked for three people was okay it does say that there are three beds in the room however it's two beds and a cot. When I had first arrived they asked me if I wanted an upgrade and i accepted and paid the difference based on the fact that she told me there would be three beds and a much larger room and a suite. When we went to the room there was only one bed and they had brought in a cot and the room wasn't very large. I went back asked for a refund at which point I was told it would take a month. Other than that experience the property is nice it is in a central location they do have umbrellas that they offer if it's raining and they're small tourism desk is helpful
Minus- 1.No proper arrangement for breakfast, we have to walk 10 min from hotel to have BF in a local restaurant, that is also only Beef and pork style Chinese food(Indians cannot eat!!) . 2-when I ask for extra sugar packets , house keeping women did not offer!!. 3.rooms are very small.
Plus - 1.Free shuttle to most of the place. 2.Free mobile phone with Internet hotshot. 3.Helpfully staffs
Not up to mark for a 4 star hotel. I can rate as only 3 star.
We stayed here for 4 nights, the staff where incredibly helpful, no request to small. My 2 daughters, where treated like princesses. Given gifts, books to read in the room and the staff entertaining them, from the manager to bell boy. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone travelling to Hong Kong. :)
This was my first trip to Hong Kong and my little brother booked the room, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The room was a good size, larger and more modern than the other hotel we stayed at in Hong Kong on this trip. The lobby was very nicely decorated and clean. Staff was very nice.
My family and I stayed here for short amount of time and the size of the room was great for Hong Kong and being newly renovated it felt very luxurious. The phone was a great bonus as it meant we could contact family and friends when needed. A couple of family members stayed up the road and when we visited the other hotel you could tell that Dorset was definitely better - the other was dated and very cramped. The food in the restaurant was the only let down as it was overpriced but tasty.
1. The location is terrible. It's right between two metro stations. It means after a whole day shopping and walking, you'll have to carry the bags walking up hills for about 15 minutes.
2. Half of the room is facing graveyard (which doesn't state on the website). If you want to avoid it, pay extra money to "upgrade" to EXACTLY SAME ROOM just facing the other side.
3. The staff is not helpful. at all. They don't care about you and your problems. They are your problems, such as the "facing cemetery issue". Don't care. "Oh, and you have shuttle bus service? What's the schedule?" "I don't know." (And can't be bothered to ask my colleagues.)
The only upside is it was recently renovated. Yet you can still tell it is an old hotel by the elevator and air con and some details.
Won't recommend it to my friends. Or anyone really.
Stayed in room 1920. I had an awesome stay here.
The standout for me was that the hotel gives you a mobile phone with unlimited data calls to use in and out of the hotel. I could easily navigate and check up on which places to eat at while out and about.
With regards to the room it nice and tidy and the staff were very friendly.
TIP: You can get chilled filtered water from the gym on level 5.
Remind you keep air circulation everywhere. Due to the fan noise and a bit cold, I did turn off the circulation. Hours later I breath with bad smell, so they win I turn on the fan. The aged mattress collapse. Early in the morning I found last night a guy left vomit in the lift and nobody clean it up, ask security find someone to clean it up, when I return I found dirty mark on carpet, color turn darken 3 days after 😷 LOL.
I loved my stay at this hotel. The room was a decent enough size for Hong Kong - spacious enough for one person. I liked the way it had been decorated although I don't think my window had views as I couldn't open the window and couldn't figure out the screen. The best thing I really liked was the provision of a mobile phone with data that I could use as a hotspot and additional camera for when my phone ran out of battery. Particularly useful was also the shuttle buses that went to either direction (I experienced slight trouble with one shuttle bus that said it would drop me off at Wan Chai but didn't and dropped me at Admiralty instead). Other than that, there was great seating in the lobby and after initially working out how to walk to the nearest areas, I was happy. The guests in the room next door were always really noisy but I guess that shouldn't reflect on the hotel.
One of the best hotels the kids and I stayed in.The kids love the teddy bears, with a mobile library. We didn't use the hotel's library,my kids brought their school work and reading books. I think it's cool for all kids.
Everything is planned out from the time you get through the door. Check in, then to your room. If you need transport, there's a shuttle bus!! No need to go to the front desk there's, helpers already READY to serve you. Your needs WILL be met.
The restaurant have a great selection of food. The lunch menu prices, hmm is fair, the dinner is expensive but yummy. Explore the area you'll find a great selection of restaurants. Have a great stay and happy exploring.
Easily accessible through public transit. Service was good; attendants respond almost instantly and we're helpful + polite. Rooms were a bit small.
This was the first time I had ever visited Hong Kong. My wife and I did not know what to expect but naturally we have very high expectations for hotels and service in general. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The hotel is extremely clean from top to bottom and the location is good. The Cosmopolitan/Dorsett exceeded all expectations and made our first visit to Hong Kong a spectacular one. I would stay here again without question. One recommendation I would make is to have clear windows that you can see out of. It was a bit strange not being able to look out of a window our entire stay. Thanks for the hospitality!!
