Amazing! So beautiful. The staff are amazing. Very quiet and relaxing. Not a big resort guest wise which was great as it's easy to get spots by the pool and beach. Everything is really close together and easily walkable including the beach. Stunning landcaspe, it really is Paradise.

Best stay in Cuba!
We loved this resort. Everything you expect from a 5-star resort. The staff is extremely friendly, and very helpful. The food is excellent, and the rooms/cabins are fantastic!
The beach is beautiful, and the pools are nice and clean. Plenty of room around the pool, and fun activities throughout the day.

We had an awesome tripgreat staffbest upper pool bar bartenders. The beach is so silky soft and white. The ocean was so beautiful and the pelicans were fun to watch. We will be going back every year from now on. Having a butler was cool!

The place was really nice. However, the food made my husband and I very sick. We were sick during the entire trip and after we arrived home as well. Also, if you're Asian the staff are VERY racist. The staff kept coming to us and asked us "why is your eyes so small? Can you see anything? Why are you Chinese?" And they kept stretching their eyes to make them small to mock us. Overall AWFUL experience!

We just got back from the Royalton in Cayo Santa Maria. We had a great time at this resort. The food was simple but good. The bars were well stocked and had an awesome bar off the lobby at which we really enjoyed meeting people. The staff were amazing. Our butler Maria Rosa was exceptional! Also our activity workers Nery, Liz and Leirys did a great job trying to keep us in shape. The beach vollyball was lots of fun! Our room was very nice. The beach was spectacular! We loved the quieter Royalton compared to the Memories resort next door. The weather didn't cooperate fully, but even though it was fairly windy when we were there, the temperature was lovely and warm. We had a couple of full sunny days and loved our swims in the ocean.
A big shout out to our tour guide, Janet, who took us on the Santa Clara tour. We also went to a cigar factory, old sugar refinery, authentic steam train ride, and visited Remedios a few smaller towns and the Che memorial. This an absolute must if you want to see the real Cuba. Take your bug spray.

Great hotel but one huge issue: sand flies are insanely aggressive in December and no one advised us on how to efficiently prevent bites. 5 days after being back home I am still spending sleepless nights
Be aware.
Other than that the hotel is great and the staff is awesome.

Well my gf and I went here from Nov.15 - 22, 2017, upon our arrival we were suppose to be at Grand Memories Sanctuary, but were instantly upgraded due to the hurricane, at first of course we were worried about an "upgrade" but we were pleasantly surprised once we reached our room. We went for dinner almost immediately and were also a bit concerned about the food because she lives a vegan lifestyle, however during our first dinner they gave her a card that read "Vegano" and listed off all the stipulations vegans live by, from that moment forward she just had to produce the card anywhere we went (because we had full access to everything on the beach for about 2km), but the chef at the Royalton would make her 3-4 course meals on the fly anytime we ate there, all we heard before we went was "ugh the food, blah blah blah", the food here and off the resort was amazing we thought, now we're thinking most people are just very picky and like to complainI even put another traveler in his place as he was whining about his soup never being "burn your lips hot, just warm".

The staff at all of these places were absolutely warm and inviting, off the resort not many people were overly friendly, but we never felt like any harm would come to us. From the managers to guys raking the beach seaweed everyone had a smile on their face every day. If we ran into someone off the resort they were very friendly and happy to see us in their home town too :) I'm glad to say we have numerous new friends from this trip both people who also traveled there for a vacation and people that worked at the resort making sure our stay was as comfortable as it could be.

I gave this place a 5 star rating, but in all honesty right now I'd say a 4.5 star rating would be correct, only because the state that everything is in with being renovated, and some of the bathroom facilities throughout the resort didn't seem to work properly. other than that the entertainment, the people, the food and the beach were all 5 star. oh and yes the mosquitoesnasty lil buggers we both had quite a few bites, but they were all well worth it!

I've always said "I'll never go back to the same place twice", but I'd never have a problem going back here again! It was absolutely amazing and we loved everything about it!

I just came back from the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria Cuba really amazing week and place let me described it

1- the Staff
Really friendly staff, kind and helpful people with always a smile .if you have Mario and Maria as butler they are really nice person you will difintly love themalso you would love the other staff like the guy who sing buy the pool really good singer

2-The Room
The room are nice and clean i got a double bed room they have a really nice view of the ocean if you are in bungalow 4 the bathrooms is nice big shower mine was good water but sometime you got some water on the floor liking out from the side (just put towel on the side) .bed are hard and sheet are thin but really comfortable ac on sometime work sometime don't (but i soon as you have a problem with the room they repair it really fast.they have a small fridge with soda and beer from there. ..soda a really good hehe but i would suggest to not eat or drink in your room for hantsalso some room have crack underneath the door so some bugs could pass on

Foods
The foods is depend what you eat some is good some is not .breakfast you have a buffet with not that much choices but what i like is the bacon and sausage.bread is delicious and fruits also (you can ask the men in blue for coconut water from the real coconut) orange juice and soft drinks are good too if you go to sunset the fries are awsome dessert ice cream is so good.just bring some gravol if you not used to some food .

The beach/bed & pool
The Beach is just beautiful not far from the hotel alot of space for everyone (sometime you have to go early if you want good spot on the beach) the pool is beautiful and the water is warm they have bar just next to it and can order any drinks and next to it the other side pizza stend really good pizza..if you want a bed by the pool go early like 5:30 am ( because some people put their stuff there before going sleeping)

The Entertainment
1-guy who sing buy the pool (he also a staff there) really good you will enjoy it
2- the lobby always have a show at 9pm witch it's really cool my favorite one was the guitar guy with the violon and the Micheal Jackson dance Show
3- the Market
Really nice lil town you find a bar , restaurent ant store to buy souvenir .

The mosquitos
If you go around this time bring some bugs spray because the are everywhere even in the morning .be careful to the sand fly they have and bite badly .

Sunburn
Put alot of sun cream every 2 hours because you would burn im telling you i'm still burning

Tiping
Don't forget to tip the staff all around you and they don't like Canadian money because they have no value to it

Internet access
Really good internet connection but you have to stay in the lobby to get it and is $1.50 for a hour.

Overall that trip was really good and a enjoy myself

One more thing also you allowed to go to other hotel like memories to eat at the buffet and show

On that have a good vacation at this hotel love u

Had an amazing time at the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria resort! They have two beautiful pools (one for activities and one for relaxing) which was ideal. The staff were so helpful and kind, Diana was amazing. Really enjoyed that it was an adults only resort and we met so many amazing people at the bar! Will definitely be coming back 👌

Rooms close to the beach and pool, Restaurants (tasty but limited food selections on menus, reminder no buffets), evening entertainment (could continue on later until 11pm), maintenance of public washrooms (some broken soap fixtures), soapy tiles in room shower area

Superb! Stunning location, excellent facilities, superb staff and entertainment for everyone, the perfect end to a two week whirl wind tour of Cuba, can't wait to return for more pampering. Beware the sand flies on the beach.

Best place i've ever stayed!
Food - excelent
Coctails - perfect
Staff - Polite and friendly
Rooms - Massive!
The whole place is kept very clean and tidy and the beach is straight off a postcard.
Could do with a little more shade around the pools though.

Like most things in Cuba this place is getting a bit tired and in need of an uplift. Pool is nice, but you need to fight for the lounge chairs and shade as there isn't much of it for the size of the hotel. Restaurants and menus are a bit disappointing and despite multiple restaurants not really much choice as the butler makes reservations for you.

Just came back from this resort last night Experience there was weather was great room was great but food was awful Every meal you ordered was never finished. If you ordered something one day the next it wasn't to be found. Staff were not friendly when ordering New Years Eve which was supposed to be the best meal around turned into how much can we return They did make a good ham and cheese sandwich.
There were 6 of us who went and 5 of them spent more time in the washroom that they cared to say. Not one of the best holidays.
