The place is a wonderful place to visit. The staff are friendly and helpful. The management changed 6 months ago, now they are on their own. The food is good although the cooking can be improved. The vegetables are fresh and the meat tastes good.

The beach is the best place. My kids had lots of fun there. You can walk to a small market on foot via beach to save $2. And the shop there allow credit card. Just avoid any US bank credit card even their branch in Canada cannot process transaction in Cuba.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I am not a bar person so I usually deal person in snack bar and dining room.

The person making the room is wonderful. I like how they decorated my beds and put my daughter’s kitty doll with a flower.

Many people there had degree and I saw a person studied very hard on English by reading a English novel. The book is old but he really went through it. Impressive!

I will go back one day to visit when I have a chance.

Absolutely unethical and extremely unprofessional establishment. This hotel allows their employees to fraternize with their guests. They legitimately will sleep and have sexual intercourse with guests. In my opinion this is so wrong on many levels as you are suppose to attend to your guest and make sure they are safe and taken care of, not to take advantage and plow them!!! Poor management and staff.

This was our first time visiting Cuba and we thought it was fantastic! The beaches were beautiful, the people were very kind, accommodating and friendly. We did a la carte most nights and we thought the food was just fine. We went for fun in the sun and that's exactly what we had. The resort was lovely and clean. Exceeded our expectations!

We arrived at our destination Hotel Lagunas Del Este 1 (formerly the Warwick) after a long flight via Punta Cana. We were welcomed by Milena and the long day was forgotten as she took care of us and made us feel special and relaxed. Milena is a very good person to have at the front desk and always helped us out whenever we needed assistance. The room was beautiful with an amazing view of the ocean.

We were in Bungalow 9 and our room attendant was Alejandro. He was a very nice guy and left us with surprises every day. Swans and fancy curtains, a bottle of wine and a long stemmed rose. He was a great representative for the hotel! He was kind and we had some very nice conversations with him.

We had breakfast at the buffet every morning and the crew there is top notch! They were attentive and gracious and seemed to have a lot of fun while they worked which was a great way to start our day. A special mention of Julio, Walter, Aimee and Hector who were simply amazing.

We spent our days on the beach and were well taken care of by the beach bartender Armando. He remembered us from our previous stay and even remembered what we filled our Bubba Kegs with! He was a fun guy to talk with and will be one of the many reasons we choose this hotel again when we travel. We had lunch at the beach grill daily and Michel was the one to take care of us. He made an assortment of grilled sandwiches and kept his area very clean and sanitary. He and Armando are a great team at the beach and we looked forward to seeing them every day.

We ate at the Buffet some nights and at al a cartes other nights. The buffet always had an assortment of ready made dishes and a few stations for fresh grilled options. We never went hungry and as with the rest of the resort the staff were attentive and friendly. At the al a carte restaurants the staff were friendly and the food there was both delicious and interesting. I know the food is always an issue in Cuba but we have always had lots to eat and lots of options.

The staff at the hotel were very proud of the work they had done to get the resort ready for guests. They worked very hard and they did an amazing job! The resort looks beautiful and there were grounds keepers working hard everyday. The part of the resort we stayed in last year was not finished at the time of our stay this time and it provided us with a glimpse of how badly Irma damaged Cuba. The bus to and from the resort was clean and the tour guide and driver were pleasant and entertaining.

..We were welcomed here in a very well and friend-lii manner by the staff that were on duty! The bus had somehow forgotten to pick us up from the Park Central Hotel in Havana so it took us a full day to get here! The young man who booked us in tried to rattle all the the facilities that the hotel offers and how the food serving works, been very tired after been awake for almost 12 hours it was just impossible to take in everything he was saying! Thus we learnt the hard way by not been able to absorb everything we had some difficulty to enjoy the full scope of the offers available to us! Right now I would like to point out to Management of this establishment as we have already stayed in various other resorts around the world which also offer the Full Inclusive Deals "Please print out a copy of how things work here with regard to customer privileges" If its paper you wanna save then please send out a paperless copy with the confirmation of the booking giving everyone enough time to study and absorb the content! Enough of that! We were taken aback by the sheer beauty of the gardens when we arrived this was already very impressive! We had hard-lii walked in when we were handed a welcome cocktail drink already a good start! The Reception Area is Awesome-lii big with a view direct-lii overlooking the beautiful turquoise waters ahead! We were allocated a superb-lii well located room in Block 9 overlooking the Massive cascading swimming pools "Breath-Taking!".we could almost dive from the balcony into the pool! There is a Pub right at the pool, a Coppelia Ice Cream Pa-lour and the Snack Trattoria all around the pools making it very easy to enjoy the pool and to grab a bite or drink at any given time! There are two pathways to the beach each ending at a Pub where a drink or a snack can be had while enjoying the beach and sun! Beach umbrellas & beach chairs are available as is the canopies made of straw to shade one from the sun! We found the buffet style serving of Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner to be very impressive as the selections on offer were more then anyone could want or ask for! In the mornings there was cereals, yogurt, eggs fried, boiled, scrambled or an omelette of your own choice! Sausages & bacon in large supplies! Cold meats and the cheese choice was awesome as was the fresh fruits selection in a abundance and the lady Mildrey was always pleasant singing and dancing giving all the feeling of a bright day ahead! In general all the staff on duty was always helpful and pleasant although some stood out like Yudierki, Walter, Julio in the restaurant area! For us we have made new friends for life with our first visit to Cayo Santa Maria! Also the young man responsible for cleaning our flat Alejandro was always pleasant and easy to communicate with! There is a large kiddies care centre with small swimming pool and structures to play in! The surrounding gardens on the premises are immaculate-lii care for real-lii making you feel as if this is the Garden of Eden! We had the opportunity to take the Topless Bus and spent an escapade of its own visiting the Town centre and then making stops at almost all the other hotels on the island even seeing Flamingos in the marshes and the driver was kind enough to stop so we could take some photos! Our only disappointment is that we lost a day getting here and we had to book out a day earlier to get back to Havana to catch an early flight! We will recommend this hotel to anyone and also our friends, we hope to come back this way again sometime in the future.

I was there with the whole family over Christmas and this resort has all the makings of a 5 star - stunning beach, nice facilities / rooms, friendly staff, relatively good food for Cuba, and a beautiful pool however several things make me rate it a 3. First, Cayo Santa Maria is about a 1 and a half hour bus ride from the Santa Clara airport and, depending on the order in which you are dropped-off or picked up, it can easily stretch to 2 hours. Second, the whole of Cayo Santa Maria seems to be suffering from a pretty severe water supply issue - the resort was only at about half capacity and we lost almost all water pressure one day - in speaking with people staying at other resorts, they all experienced the same thing. Actually I think all the resorts are only booking at half capacity because of this issue and, given the water comes by pipeline from the mainland which is about 50 kms / 30 miles away I don't think it will be solved anytime soon. Third, Cuba still struggles when it comes to logistics and right now they are experiencing shortages of some pretty basic items i.e. I consider toilet paper pretty essential unfortunately there seems to be a country wide shortage which resulted in a lot of the public bathrooms on the resort (especially around the pool and the lobby) not having any - seriously there were times when all the stalls in both the men's and women's bathrooms had none. My mom who's about to turn 80 actually asked one of the cleaning girls in the bathroom by the pool for some and she kind of shrugged her shoulders and sheepishly said she hand none. In fact, this prompted us all to start carrying around napkins from the buffet in our pockets at all times just "in case". Not something you want to have to worry about while you are one vacation

Great resort with friendly staff. The beach is beautiful, and the rooms were spacious and well kept. Food is Cuban, therefore it wasn't great. Do not travel to Cuba in hopes for a culinary experience that blows you away.
Remote location so not much in the way of adventure either.

They say it's better to go in the off season. Personally the food wasn't the greatest and they didn't have enough staff. The pool bar was left empty most of the time with no bar tender , there were cups all over the place and people kept falling through the plastic covers surrounding the pool. There wasn't much entertainment because the stage was not completed. We were told there was 8 restaurants but only 4 were available. The snack bar was low on stock so they barley had choices. We got a chance to do the catamaran but they didn't allow anyone on the paddle boats or kayaks they kept making up excuses. I wouldn't go back here unless they changed a lot. I'd say the best thing about here is the beach.

Amazing hotel! Very different since there are different bungalows instead of one big building with rooms. The staff is incredible, just full of wonderful people. Shout out Yoandy! The pools are very relaxing, the buffets are great, and the snack bar is great for whenever you get hungry. The beach is beautiful with white sand and clear waters, just watch out for the rocks. All in all Warwick is a great place to stay if you plan on visiting Cayo Santa Maria!

This is a 5-star all-inclusive hotel. 24 hr (good-quality) snack bar + 24 hr all-inclusive drink. But for the dinner, I'd say it's just average and serve almost the same food everyday. They've a restaurant that you've to book before 3 pm and "pay" for that (no one told me when I did check in)

I would recommend anyone visiting Cayo Santa María to visit this place. It has a beautiful beach just 1 mins walk from the swimming pool. Good quality white sand beach with super clear water. Its service is also very good. Only its wifi is quite hard to connect though.

The only problem I had here was about the payment. I paid with my credit card via my agency. When I arrived and checked in the hotel, they didn’t ask for deposit. However, in the evening, they called me and tried to fetch me the whole hotel and talked to me about the payment problem. I said I already paid everything via my agency. They should contact my agency first and then come to me. They said my agent hadn’t replied any emails and they were so worried. One of the staffs was ANGRY at me. I don’t think this is a 5-star hotel response to this kind of issue. The following morning, another staff talked to me and she was not in a good attitude. However, few hours after that they could reach my agent and said there was no problem anymore. They didn’t come to sorry to me. Well, the others stuff were really nice except those at the reception.

This resort is a superstar! We get more than triple the value of what we pay!!! We are global travellers and we've seen the best and the worst. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids. This resort is very much underestimated. The people are so nice.Everything is clean. We ate so much food as we can. Drink as much as we can.. I would be nitpicking if I say something bad at all..Perfect Vacation! I gambled on this resort reading all the bad reviews and it all paid off thrice over!!! Do not listen to bad reviews, learn from them and try it yourself! Some people complain that it was cloudy(it wasn't!).Complain that nobody is asking them if they like a drink (duh! The bar is just beside us)..Complain that the coconut ran out (duh! you came late, come back tomorrow)..I guess some have valid complains but I think the resort is trying and they should get credit for effort. We come here for vacation, sun, laughs, fun and friends..we should not come here feeling entitled to enslave people for the $1000+ we payTry this resort!!! It's fantastic! By the way, we are still here enjoying the piano music at the lobby while drinking our cappuccino and have some entertainment later. March 15 to March 22,2017.

I just got back from my stay here with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it! We stayed for a week and it was the perfect amount of time. The one side of the beach is fairly rocky but it was still an easy access to the ocean and was super quiet while the other side was all sand, no rocks at all, was also a lot busier. The resort itself was beautiful, I've been to Cuba 3 times and this was by far the best resort I have stayed at. The staff were friendly and not at all over-barring which we really enjoyed. Be sure to check out their Fusion restaurant, it was fantastic, the Caribbean one was also good. Their buffet was pretty standard and had quite a variety of things to choose from, the only thing I would complain about was I didn't see a lot of things kids would eat other than the pasta stations, The snack bar did have more kid friendly foods I would say but overall we had a great time and would definitely be interested in going back!

The worst resort I have ever been to in Cuba. Firstly, 99% of the staff was rude and acted like they didn't care about anything, especially the management staff. The whole resort was extremely understaffed and as a result the service was slow and the staff were never able to do anything properly. Secondly, the food in Cuba is normally bad but this resort just took it to a whole different level of bad - there was no selection and it was the same food and leftovers every day. The line ups to get food at the buffet or the snack bar were hours long (I am not exaggerating). Lastly, the beach was a rock beach. You needed running shoes to walk on all the rocks - I am not talking pebbles, it was cliffs of rocks and boulders. We were informed by the staff that because of a storm all of the sand had been washed away and it would take 2-3 months before there would maybe be sand again. So, everyone crammed together on the small section of sand that there was and it was so packed that you couldn't walk in between the chairs. There was barely ever any music being played on the beach or throughout the resort - it was just boring. There is only one pool and the water is shallow throughout, so, if you like swimming in the pool the water is only as deep as your waist. The one and ONLY good thing about this resort is that it is new so the rooms are a bit more modern and clean than other resorts. That being said, however, for a new resort, our patio door didn't lock and they put a chunk of wood to keep the door closed. To sum it all upI'm asking my travel agent for a credit because my week at this resort was simply terrible and not at all enjoyable. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.
