It's not a bad place . Clean most of the time. Rooms are really decently sized for Cuba. The actual beach is small(sand wise) NOT the resort for you if you want a nice beach.. IS the resort for you I'f you like large safe relaxed resorts.
the restaurants are great (still Cuban food) the staff is very good and very nice.. overall I was happy and would go back.
Stayed here for our honeymoon. We loved every second of our trip, stunning beaches, several beautiful pools, we were always able to find chairs on beach and by the pool. Staff was great, and the grounds were gorgeous and taken care of very well! Only downside was the food was not amazing, but it is Cuba and this is to be expected. We were never starving, there were many options. Will be going back here again and again!
Almost perfect! Lovely place, great beaches and clean rooms. Food was pretty good too! Would be a five star but the front desk was lacking service. Not enough staff to handle all of the incoming guests and concerns.
I absolutely adored this place, when i first started reading some of the reviews i was a little scare but when i arrived to this Hotel it was beyond expectation. What a beautiful place and the service and quality of the drinks is outrages, the food needs a little bit of work but it was also really good. Highly recommended!
best resort I have been down south! Only reason I am giving it a 4 start is because when I went there, it was fairly new so there was a lot of things to work on. But staff is extremely nice, clean rooms, good service and amazing drinks. Surprisingly the food was not as bad as everyone says it it. oh and BEST BEACH EVER!!!
-Beach is beautiful. It is unbelievably nice. The color of water is amazing.
-Rooms are not perfect but good enough for Cuban resort
-Entertainment ( every night ) is finehowever they have a show just for 1 hour and after that there is nothing to do. No club, no music. So nights were kind of boring.
-2 hours trip to a resort is a bit too long
-We tried 4 restaurants. Don't go to French one. Don't waste your time. Seafood restaurant was good compare to the rest.
- Don't leave anything on a balcony over night ( it might disappear )
-Buffet is kinda poor. We weren't hungry but didn't enjoy eating there. Except coconut pie and cookies . They were super delicious. Always fresh and tasty. They do have beef, pork, and fish ( but do not expect too much )
- On your way to/from the resort you will see hundreds of flamingos.
- Employees are nice and friendly. Thank you guys for working so hard. You're awesome people
If you like yourself, do not go there. This is a White Folks Fattening Facility. Mass tourism at its finest. Cheap food, fat tourists, exploited workers. I do not even want to think about the damage to the environment.
The resort was fine even after the hurricane. There were things that needed to be fixed but it was nice none the less. I was very disappointed with the food though, they were often running out of food like bread or running out of beer.
We will not be going back again unless things get better.
I had a great time here Jan 6-13, 2018. I'll touch on the important things to avoid a long review.
-Food was limited, but good. They have a lot of favorites (eggs, bacon, chicken, beef, fish) which I found myself eating most the time, which was fine. The fruits and veggies lack a bit though.
-Rooms are nice, beds are a little hard, but not horrible. They share our electrical outlets, which was nice. Housekeeping came everyday and made us swans and lobsters out of towels (if you tip haha), very cool.
-Staff are really friendly and humble.
-Beach could be bigger, but the sand and water is amazing.
-Nightlife is good, but not overbearing.
Overall I would recommend this resort without hesitation.
PS - It's worth the extra couple bucks for a pool view room!
Beatiful place. Excellent resort. Buildings are fairly new . Environment are great people are very friendly. Food is very good. Much better than other resorts around that area recommended 100% .
Came here the week of Nov 18th 2017 - Nov 25th 2017.
The first day, I was extremely frustrated because of some minor issues. If your itinerary states that you will be checking in at 2PM, I am warning you now. You may have to wait until 4PM to get your room. (unless your room is ready and has been set up). The hotel states that check in time is 4PM but on our papers, it said 2PM. We arrived around 12PM and was told to come back at 1. When we came back, they said our room would be ready at 2. Then we came back at 2 and they said our room still wasn't ready and that check in time is at 4. So I had to basically walk around for 4 hours. ALSO half the resort was not functioning, due to maybe low season or the hurricane, but their hotel did not provide any details on that on their site or on the site we booked our tickets from (expedia). So we missed out on some other features/restaurants.
Room: I stayed in building BW38 on the ground floor. Got pool view. Room is decent, but our front door, would not close properly. We had to SLAM it, in order for it to close, and also our bathroom door does not close properly either. so the whole time we stayed there, the bathroom never has never been fully closed or locked. Our safe also did not work, and at one point, i got locked out of my room because the front door would not open with the card that was given to us. We eventually got a technician sent out to fix our door and our safe.
The beach is also fairly close from where my room is. it's only a 5 minute walk, if you find the little hidden path behind another building. Beach is amazing and breath taking. Clear water and white sand.
Victor, our server from the buffet was extremely friendly and I would highly recommend going to him. A little annoying though that the snack bar did not have certain food items that I wanted throughout the week. (ie. chicken fingers). Food is decent, but is also alot better than when 4 years ago when I came to cuba.
Entertainment was great, and loved the dancers/shows every night.
After a nightmare on the first day, everything worked out fine. The hotel was great and has a very nice atmosphere, service was great and everyone is so friendly.
The only bad thing that I would say is that the washrooms in the main building needs to be worked on. Some of the locks don't work, or there's no lock at all.
Would definitely recommend, and would come back.
Bonus: its a 18+ resort. so no kids! ;)
Absolutely amazing place to go! The staff (Albertico and Jordano per example) went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Will be returning here again!!!
beautiful beach, bar with beach service, wind yachting on the beach, kayak rental, friendly staff, good meals,
Great Holiday, freindly staff, did amazing after the Hurricane.
Nice hotel grounds, ok beach , disappointing food quality and choices, even for Cuban standards. Food also constantly COLD . Would NOT recommend this hotel , they are much better hotels in Santa Maria region.
Great resort very well maintained we really enjoyed our stay! The food in the Snack bar suited us best, the buffet had amazing coffee and omelets in the morning. Food is very bland but it's cuba!
Great staff and beautiful views! The pool and beach was amazing and the food was actually quiet good! Find the secret spots and you will be even happier!
Such a wonderful and beautiful resort. I would have given it a 5 star, but the over crowding really took away from the experience. Still had an amazing Ty.
Good things - beach and the quiet pool. Also the rooms were nice although the bed was really hard to sleep on. And, cuban people wonderful and friendly as always.
Not so good things - food was not good even for cuban standards, activities pool smelled like septic tank, you have to watch out for the electric carts that are driving over your toes.
Overall - I will not come back to Cuba after staying in this hotel for 2 weeks.
VERY disappointing. Stayed for 2 weeks - beautiful facility - pools - beach - BUT first night - room full of ants and in the bed - it took 24 hours to get a new room. Buffet food always cold. You'll never get a hot meal unless you stand in line for an hour. A la cart restaurants very good. 1.5 hour check in because there is always 2 very young people working the front desk and know very little English bell boys lazy and pretend they don't see you as they go the other way to hide ! Lots of walking because they drive by with their carts 20 mph and won't pick you up. And lastly, bus driver texting and driving while on a narrow causeway ! We'll never be back
Great resort. Super friendly staff. Also food for Cuba standards was well above par. 😎 I will definitely be going back here.
Not sure why anyone would think this hotel is trashy or caters to trashy people. We found it to be very nice, beautiful beach, lovely pool, grounds lovely and well maintained. The weather was gorgeous. We spent most days at the beach, no sand fleas whatsoever, so not sure what some people are talking about. The food was decent, not exceptional. The staff were fine, the room was very nice with a large shower and stocked fridge daily. Some major issues, no water in the public washrooms on arrival, so you can imagine that was a big problem. We would definitely go back to Cuba but probably try another hotel.
This place needs a lot of work on the general atmosphere that they provide.
Simply put, this is a very trashy resort.
It caters to trashy people.
If you have the desire to spend a tranquil respectful week with a loved one, don't come here.
