This resort is "OK" if you keep your expectations not very high. It consists of vast area along the beach , you make take 15 minutes to walk the resort from end to end.
Be careful, there is no WiFi available, you have to walk to next door hotel to catch some weak signal.
The food is is is 3/10 .

what people say about this resort is true. It's a really dumpy place. It is a bunch of old homes converted into hotel type rooms. The 24 hour bar is at one end. I was in block 22. Was a huge walk to everything. The beach and grounds are covered in rubble and garbage. No snacks after 4pm. No toilet paper in public washroom. They were filthy. My tv, fridge and air conditioner didn't work. Didn't mention to staff as I was only there four days. Food was food. First time in Cuba so not sure what to expect. Bugs in my room, fleas I'm pretty sure. Really disappointed in Sunwing. Didn't expect this and I am so easy going. Don't bring children here, you will not be impressed.

This is a cheap-y, and it's Cuba - so adjust expectations accordingly. That said, this place is great. You get what almost amounts to a private beach steps away from your room. Most of the staff are lovely. Cleaning lady did an excellent job. Rooms vary greatly in quality - if you don't like yours, ask nicely to be moved to a different one. Food is kind of crappy - as elsewhere in cheap Cuban hotels. At the same time, as elsewhere, if you eat fresh fish and aren't too picky about the extras, it's just fine. In fact, it kind of forces you to be healthy - we ate fresh fish (occasionally other seafood as well) and veggies every day.

If you want to see and be seen, go elsewhere. This is not a party place, and it's full of generally older folks. But if you don't mind a smaller place with not a whole lot to do but spend time in the beautiful Caribbean and on the beach, you can't go wrong.

My husband and I went to Club Karey last week. We found a great price online and decided at the last minute to go and spend a few days in the sun. We had never been to Cuba before and were not sure what to expect. I was very disappointed in this resort. The suite had no hot water, T.Vs were for decoration only, towels were stained, beds were very hard, garbage on the beach and property, sidewalks broken up, no phone in the rooms so you could not call the front desk to tell them anything, and that included asking them to pick you up along with your bags when you wanted to check out. This makes for a long walk to where the bus picks you up to go to the airport. Even if they had phones it would not have helped because front desk service was non existent, as was toilet paper and running water in the bathrooms by the lobby and the pool area. The bathroom doors by the pool had no locks, toilet paper or running water. They did have sinks though I am not sure why because they had no faucets. The food was awful. Everything smelled rancid. Nothing sat on ice not even the conducts. The fruit that was there usually had fruit flies all over it. They never had more than 4 or 5 beach chairs out at a time. Needless to say we will not be back.

I cannot begin to tell you how horrible this place is
Save your money. Spend it somewhere else. This place RUINED my vacation. If you ignore this and decide hey it's cheap let's book there anyways. you will regret it

THIS IS THE WORST RESORT IN THE HISTORY OF RESORTS. The manager is a complete drunk. The food was a fly trap and was consistently undercooked. The staff was rude and many simply ignored our questions. The beach is swamped with litter. House cleaning did not bother to clean our rooms a single time. There are no amenities on the resort. They run inconsistent hours for all their programming. I cannot urge you enough to not go to this hotel. For the sake off however much youre paying and the vacation time youre taking, this place is more of a headache then anything else.

Authentic Cuban atmosphere, great service and nice company! Gonna go there again!

Together with my spouse we traveled to Club Karey resort for our first time in Cuba. We really liked that trip. The beach is really great and has a lot of space. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful! We had a great company and made very good friends with other visitors. There were guests mainly from Canada, Germany and Russia (alphabetical order).

Food: adhering healthy lifestyle we ate health in the buffet and enjoyed each meal. On St.Valentine's day there was a special meal served. In addition, there was a chocolate :)

Customer Service: we like the level of service. If we had any problem with something all we had to do is report it at the reception.

House keeping: everything is clean and being taken care of. Thanks to the care of the chief housekeeper and cleaners.

Program: we had a great time with our new friends. However the animators and their chief entertainer did really fantastic job by keeping us entertained and having fun: among the activities are beach volleyball, darts contests with prizes, movie quizes, , lunch outdoors, lotto in the afternoon and visiting local artists and dancers added to the entertainment program.

Summary: we've already bought the tickets to Club Karey and will visit it soon again, so much we loved it!!!

We stayed at Club Karey from Jan. 4th - Jan 11th, 2014, and had a wonderful time! The accommodations are a unique style of casas divided into oversized suites - including sitting room, modern bar fridge, and bathtub! The hotel is tranquil set away from the downtown crowd, but close enough for a quick Coco ride or good walk. Because the hotel villas are set away from downtown, the beaches right outside your villa, is also more private and beautiful! The staff here are very hospitable, and helpfulattempting to make your stay as enjoyable and carefree as possible!! The Chefs are incredible at the buffet restaurant - where they always have a specialty on the grill - ranging from shrimp, to roast pork and turkey! Even the pool snack-bar is an unusual surprisewhere they serve excellent fries and pizzas! The nightly entertainment was very good!! We can't wait to come back to this place!
