A superb suite hotel. Firstly the service you receive here is second to none. Angel checked us in and was wonderful then he promptly arranged dinner reservations and made suggestions about local spots for a drink. All the while having a laugh with us as it was our first time in Zurich. The porter was a star and the rooms exceeded our expectations. Representing excellent value for money but with no compromise. Our suite had a seperate lounge complete with dining table, a massive main bedroom, hall way, 2nd seperate toilet and the main bathroom was enormous. Lovely small dining room downstairs and about a 10min walk to everything in the city. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

wonderful hotel, great service, perfect location: lake and city center (Bahnhofstrasse) in walking distance, huge rooms with spa-like bathrooms. perfect breakfast buffet.

Very good hotel, the only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't set the a/c to a lower temperature as the lower temperature. My kids stayed at a different room and they had the same experience. Other than that no complaints, the rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. All the employees were extremely friendly and helpful.

We parked our car in front of the hotel for 2 minutes to fetch our passport from our home next door. A clerk came outside and urged us to leave the spot, which is fair. We called our driver, as nobody of us could drive. The entire 2 minutes it took our driver to get back, the clerk kept arguing with us, even though there was nothing else we could do. We cannot understand why he kept arguing and arguing.
In conclusion: we made a mistake, but that's no reason to treat us like that. If the staff is frustrated, they shouldn't let it out on potential guests!response / report this review -

This was our 2nd time staying at the Alden in Zurich - we love this hotel! It is located in a relatively quiet section of the town, yet close to the Bahnhofstrasse area and the lake. The suites are generous and nicely decorated. We opted to take our breakfast in our room - it was excellent and arrived on time; we also love the 24hr room service.
The Alden has a great staff, always helpful, friendly and upbeat - most of the people we recognized from our first stay.
We will be back in Zurich, and are looking forward to staying at the Alden again.
