Love this YMCA. The Tae Kwon Do classes are excellent, especially for kids.
New manager is very hands on, staff is helpful and friendlycan't say the same for some members.
I see great things in the future after speaking to new managerSummer brought some needed renovations including Air conditioner replacementsCould be better if people treated the facilities as if they had to pay for repairsbeing respectful is not a trending behaviour.
Most of staff at front desk are extremely helpful and courteous
Could be 5 star if equipment was newer and kept up with.
Also could use additional equipment to diversify workout needswill add in coming months.
Staff is great! Nice facility. Played basketball tonight. Would have been a perfect experience but my jumper wasn't falling. :-)
This place is bad. Staff is very low, unfriendly, and incompetent. The change room is often dirty. For the first time after 17 years in many gyms someone broke up my locker, and the staff didn't offer me a new padlock. Swimming pool is too tiny. Building is very old, when it's raining, rain fall inside. This place is too noisy, too crowded, and the equipments are too tight, so it's dangerous to work out there. The manager should find another job because all is wrong there. It's better for people to work out in the street.
Being away from Toronto I realize how much I miss this place. Open early till late, great facilities, spa, and lots of great activities. Really good value.
Please be careful, when you make an contract.
Do double check for everything.
Love it. It beats any other private gym with its super clean facilities, affordability and broad range of activities. Best decision I've made this year!
My partner and I were a member here for just about a year, but have stopped temporarily to save money. (Although I do hear that they can get you on a financial plan if needed.)
This is a clean and friendly place to work out. I mostly used the third floor with the free weights and machines, which were obviously quite popular at times but never really unbearably busy.
I also went to barre class, which was nice. An enjoyable workout for sure: not too difficult, but hard enough to make it feel worthwhile.
In addition, I tried the taekwondo class once, and would be interested in going again since it also was a good workout, though I feel like most of the class was about warming up instead of learning skills (though maybe it was just that particular class I happened to go to).
The pool is a little small for my tastes but still big enough to get tired out doing some laps. I also love that there is a steam room and sauna (and whirlpool).
Beautiful space, amazing equipment. I like that the weights on the top floor are all coated in rubber to reduce noise, and the the music played is not too loud. Sometimes its very busy, I would recommend trying to go at off peak hours as much as possible.
