A really cool place! Great pub as well which you get a $12 voucher for! I love how they've kept the historic vibe all through the buildings. In my room I could hear sounds from the subway and the heating system, but really for the location and price it was worth it. There is also a complimentary breakfast with fresh fruit, cereal, nice little pasties and coffee/tea. I really enjoyed my short stay here and will definitely be booking again.

I love this place Anyone younger (or young in spirit) and into kitsche and quirky, will love this place, too The price is easy to pay, it is close to tons of fabulous museums and other amenities.
It does not seem to be a good place to bring children to stay at. They are certainly welcome, but small kids will be cramped.
There is a bar and restaurant that are on property - the food is really good, the bar(s) hosts a wide range of people from young college students to older locals.

I love this place, and wish I could just move in and stay here forever! 😁

Very lovely room, quiet and comfortable. Excellent pillows!
Would like to give a higher rating, but the breakfast was simply dreadful. The pastries and bagels were covered with black insects and when I pointed this out to staff, another bag of bagels was simply placed on the buffet table and I was instructed to reseal it when done, as "the bugs will get in there, too". Bugs aside, very poor breakfast in general, too.
Yes, a voucher of 12 dollars is given for use in the pub restaurant but this can hardly be used for daily breakfasts!
Without the breakfast, a great hotel!

I checked in late, after the time described on the booking, and was warmly welcomed. The hotel manager called me an hour earlier and assured me that they were looking forward to my arrival. The pub manager was welcoming and charming. The food was good and they have a nice selection of beers. The room is well-appointed, clean and quiet. Wi-fi works. Bed is comfortable. Appointments throughout the hotel are charming. For the price, for the location, five stars. No doubt.

Great location and value. The hotel is old and quirky and you're next to a bar and a frat house so it can be a little loud. The breakfast starts a little late (730 on weekdays and 830 on weekends) for those of us headed to early meetings. Breakfast offerings are reasonable. The floor of the breakfast area gets really sticky on weekends. I like the quaint rooms and old staircases but ask for the main floor if you don't like stairs. They don't guarantee their WiFi but I've never had a problem with it. The friendliness and efficiency of the reception varies widely.

Nice flair, near a bigger street with a lot of shops and the subway. The room was clean, old fashioned furniture, bathrooms also clean. Breakfast was OK for North America, but the breakfast room is a bar room - which smells a bit of certain things.

The hotel room I was given did not have many of the amenities described. It was dirty and maintenance was clearly lacking although I did ask for things to be attended to. The same owner operates the hotel next door which is very loud. I would not recommend this as a good choice for travelers.

This hotel is a wonderful way to experience city living in beautiful Toronto.The hotel consists of four large early 1900's homes transformed into a 23 room hotel.Each room is different , ours had a fire place.Transportation around the city is very easy from this location. Service,food and drink are exceptional.We were feeling at home here during our 5 day visit.

A friend and I stayed here this weekend. Never again - was right on the street and we didn't feel safe we went out of our way not to be in the room. We ate at the pub the first night and the food was awful we got chicken fingers which were bland and had black spots in them. The fries were partially frozen in the middle. The next day we had the hotel calling me saying my credit card didn't process and that I owed them money when I gave them a cash deposit. When we arrived for check in we were yelled at to wait in line for the pub then told to come to the side and finally a manager came out who insisted we leave our bags out on the street to check in. On check out our bill was more then they had told us on the phone and we had to spend 20 minutes waiting for them to get it sorted out. Continental breakfast consisted of stale bagels and orange juice so watered down it was undrinkable. The room was clean but would definitely not recommend this place for eating or staying at.
