Horrible rooms and lights were not working. Vending machine was broken and was charged $5 for 600ml bottle of water.
On the bright side, this place have bars and game room.

It's actually safer and more comfortable to sleep in your car compared to the rooms at this hotel. The hotel room I was assigned to had cracked glass and I actually, by accident, opened the room beside mine with my card.

Horrible room conditions for room and dusty. Dusty and feeling skin itches due to dust all around. The carpet seems not cleaned for long time.
    No wifi.
Bed is not in good condition. Some Sharpe edges exposed from bed base. I friend get hurt by that sharp edges exposed when he off the bed. Extremely surprise first aid box kept by the inn has no iodine or alcohol like solution for wound sterilization.
I can't imagine that basic things are lacked. It is unacceptable.

This Howard Johnson hotel was located in Scarborough. It not easy to find for the location was behind a parking though a church. Service was good. Our room was nice and a good size. It was clean and comfortable. Not a bad stay just located in a bad spot.

DO NOT COME HERE. This whole place is falling apart. The walls are falling apart, the rugs are falling apart, there was an empty alcohol bottle in the hallway. There was a super gross dust bunny on our sheets. I didn't even want to touch anything

Worst place that I have ever stayed at. Hallways are dirty and smell horrible. Furniture in the rooms are so outdated that you feel like you are in stay in a hotel room from the 80's. Only good thing is the staff that is super friendly and try their best to make you feel comfortable during your stay

If you need a place to sleep relatively cheap for Toronto and you're not too picky it works. The staff here a very nice and they were able to get us connecting rooms which is a huge bonus. We needed a place to go after our reservation at another hotel turned out very bad (double the price, no connecting rooms, bad smells and mold in the bathrooms for our family of 7). The rooms are clean but the property itself is pretty run down and needs a lot of updating. It has a huge courtyard in the center of it but is completely overgrown with weeds. Parking is free. Breakfast is free too but a true continental (cereal, toast, juice, coffee and pastries). Pool looked ok but we didn't have time to use it. For service I would give them 3 1/2 stars but the property itself 2.

Okay so yes it was cheap.. why I giving them so low. First when I arrived I found a tampon wrapper made in with my bed. Second as I was leaving to check out doing my simple room check so I didn't forget anything guess what I found?! The tampon! USED!!!! So disgusted and when I told them what had happened all the front desk said was they were "sorry" and if I could put my debit card in the machine for my deposit. HOWARD JOHNSON SO GROSS! NEVER AGAIN!

Location is good since it is close to the 401. It is a little run down, but the staff there are very kind. I don't suggest going to the provided breakfast, the ice machine doesn't work (or didn't when we were there) but you could definitely do worse.

The hallway had garbage empty beet bottles. The card for the door wasn't working properly. The shower barely got water. The breakfast bread jam.

For those planning an event such as an assault, drug overdose, or contraction of an incurable virus, there is no venue better suited than the Scarborough Howard Johnson. Sure you may pay a little more than you would at say the nearest Super 8 or Motel 6, but from the moment you walk in you will see their commitment to making your stay the most horrifying experience you will ever have in a motel. Go ahead, treat yourself.

The room they have is decent for the price. Don't expect too much. They do have a backyard type smoking space which is accessible through some rooms. Their staff was friendly and helpful with what we needed.

I would not even make my dog stay a night at this hotel. The outside is very sketchy. Inside was dirty and stunk of smoke. The room itself was less than mediocre. The bathtub and sink were rusted, the carpet was peeling off the floor, the TV goes to static at 3am and to top it all off there were bed bugs!!

Keep in mind my best friend and I were staying there and we are BOTH very pregnant. When we went down to the front desk, the man who was there named Sam was no real help and had quite an attitude when checking us out and made no real effort to help us. It was now 3:30am and I couldn't stay one more minute in that roach motel. I would have rather slept in my car then stayed there.

Don't even waste your time to come here. The only reason why I'm giving it one star is because it won't let me give less.
