Great rooms decent price customer service was good as well
Nice, cozy, easy access, friendly staff, very small fitness center, heavy chlorine smell because of pool, basic amenities, nice view, good for families
Very good hotel. Quick booking in. Clean room. Excellent (included) breakfast! Nice hot tub and tiny pool (clean!). Couldn't get the sauna to work and didn't ask the staff about it. The price was right; I would stay here again.
You pretty much get your money value for what you pay. Overall the room was clean, liked that the room had hardwood floors rather than a filthy carpet. The shower 🚿 had been recently updated. Continental breakfast was included. They have a good selection of alcohol and beer for sale. The pool looked decent.
Great place! Clean and inviting. Professional and informed staff
Great service. Very clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Great breakfast included. Nothing negative to say.
Very easy access from main artary. Very clean. Great breakfast. Staff very helpful and polite.
Everything was exactly as you'd expect for a hotel of this sort. Room was clean and presentable. WiFi was stable and reliable. Pool water is clean however the tiles need a good scrubbing. The breakfast buffet, the selection is limited but surprising good, the women setting it up was very pleasent and accommodating. Check in and out time was very good.
I stayed here alone - a female. It was hard to sleep the first night because of the sound of the highway. However, the staff there was more than happy to change my room! The room I was changed to was super clean and really nice/modern. They were really friendly and helpful and met your needs if you had any. As a female staying there alone, I felt safe there.
If you're female BEWARE: judging by the receptionists temper, this place isn't safe to stay in alone.
Came in at 9pm for a room with my debit and ID like I usually do once a year for a little getaway, and was greeted with a curt "what you want". I asked for a quiet room away from others for one night, but was cut off and yelled at!
He told me to get out (in front of other people trying to check in who were shocked) and said "you always give us problem". I've never had any issues at this place the one time a year I stay here, nor does this guy know me at all since I only stay here so infrequently. I assume his reaction was based on the fact that I was in my pyjamas, fresh out of the shower, and not wearing makeup. I didn't realize that I needed to dress up to check into a hotel at 9pm at night, just to get a room to decompress and sleep in.
He refused to check the computer for my previous stays and instead said I should give him cash from the ATM directly if I wanted a room? He just flat out refused to take money off my debit card (which is what I usually do here) and kept insisting on cash so I'm assuming he would have pocketed it if I had agreed.
He also refused to call the manager and threatened to call the police like I was a prostitute or something. I had to go back to my car and calm down because I could start to feel my face flushing and years starting; I have never been treated like this ANYWHERE I've gone before.
I'm absolutely livid and will be contacting the management about this but since it's not a franchise I don't expect much. I'll update this review if anything comes of it though.
Tl;dr:
PROS:
* clean and new rooms
CONS:
* not safe for women staying alone
* expect the night auditor to embarrass you in front of guests
* expect to be told "I calling the cops" for asking him to check the computer for your account
* family owned hotel so the night auditor is most likely not going to receive any reprimand or further customer service training
Not worth wasting your money here unless you enjoy being humiliated publicly and made to cry
The room was spacious and clean. Water was provided for the event. The help was very kind.
The Admiral Inn was nice little Hotel. Service was great. Only problem I had was the glasses for water at the event held there were dirty.
I was here for a small conference. The hotel is easy to find. There were no issues with parking and the staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms in the basement are okay for a smaller conference but you've got to think out your floor plan well to prevent congestion.
Stayed during July 2-3 holiday weekend. No reservation and happen to get lucky and found this to be one location that had availability. There are two Admiral Inns and both had rooms available during the holiday weekend. I was able to get an executive room. The room was great. The best part was the shower. It had the rain shower, side showers, and hand wand. The bathroom lacked a towel bar but did have a hook for two towels on the door. There was slight signs of mold building up in the grout but nothing that would gross you out. The shower heads were mold free. The room was overall clean, the (king) bed was comfy and the AC unit worked as expected. The hot breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, fresh (make your own) waffles, croissants, bagels, English muffins, fresh fruits, yogurt, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice, and peach juice. Breakfast was a self serve buffet. There was a pool but I was not able to use it during my stay to give an evaluation of it. The front desk lady (Elizabeth, I think) was very helpful, cheerful and professional. I would highly recommend staying here when visiting Toronto.
