THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE BISTRO CAFE IN THE HOTEL

Came here to celebrate a colleague's birthday by getting some cake and coffees/teas etc. The little cafe is quite cute, and the desserts were actually pretty good, nice selection of teas etc etc.. but the man who was serving us was SO rude it was actually almost hilarious. He was just so unfriendly and rude that it seemed almost intentional. Hahhaha.. anwyays. just so rude.. walks to the corner of our table of 8 people and doesn't look at us and just says "do you want some drinks" and it just felt like it was painful for us to even talk to him he just hated everyone . lol.. Even someone ordering tea, he was like "well they're over there" and pointed to the tea selection and empty mugs (kind of like the tea and coffee section you would see at a continental breakfast).. but there wasn't any hot water over there.. So the people that ordered tea were confused after they picked their tea bag out. He could have said oh you can pick the tea bag from over there and then i'll bring you water (which is what happened) but literally just so rude and we probably won't want to come back there because of it! It wasn't even like the kind of rude that you're like ok maybe they're having a bad day.. it was the type where it was like wow I feel so unwelcome here my presence is making this guy's day horrible

Night stay at the hotel was lovely, Rooms reminded of being back in the dorms at University. Beds super comfortable and sufficient amenities for the stay. The rooms however are pretty small since the hotel used to be Dorm rooms for students before.

This hotel is connected to the University of Calgary and you see students all along the hotel and campus, there is complimentary breakfast but we didn't get a chance to try that so can't vote for it.

The parking however is a little inconvenient, which is a good 5 min walk from the hotel as well as $10/nightly rate. The hotel staff was friendly and always there to help. Would recommend this hotel to others. Doesn't matter what room you get the view pretty much is of the campus for UC.

My first 2 nights have been great room is nice and clean. Bed is decent and view is great. The bistro was very busy this morning so there was very little left for breakfast by 740am ended up walking away with only a muffin. Hopefully tomorrow will be better

Beautiful but stupid design. Ex my room is modern deco but the shower is designed so that you can hardly prevent getting water everywhere in the bathroom. Staff forgot to mention that my room was in a different building before I went looking for it. This is the only campus I know without any map displays at least any that I could find.

Very professional service for a very reasonable and affordable price! Staff was very friendly and the campus itself also allowed for many choices for food. Rooms brought me back to university days except these were way better, clean, and high tech! We also did our laundry there.

Edit to 1 star. It's simple, we went for the continental breakfast and as it turned out it wasn't included. We each just payed $10 for a really bad version of a holiday inn breakfast. We only chose to grab the food because we couldn't imagine a world where this would cost us money. They were even out of cutlery and coffee. Basically $10 mini danishes and toast.

The rooms are pretty nice, the hotel in general is very modern. The fact that it's a dorm is cool because you get your own bedroom with tons of room to store things. The beds however are definitely sub par. Which is my only problem with the hotel. They're like plastic prison mattresses on a set of springs. My wife and I kept getting funneled into the middle of the bed and had a hard time sleeping. Like I said however, everything else about it is really cool. There's even common areas where you can hang out on couches.

We used the Senate Room for a big staff breakfast event. The room was spacious enough to hold the 60 staff. Service on the day of was good (the staff member was quick to refill any of the food and was very polite). The food however was not good.

Staff were not trained properly with the implementation of their new booking, reservation, and payment software. Check in times were over an hour long with multiple errors such as double charges. Frustrated staff and customers.

Buyer beware! They don't properly advertise the differences in rooms! I slept in what was basically a dorm room for a night. Not only was the bed atrocious, but there was a shared; I repeat, SHARED bathroom with another room!
Not a good experience at all.

It's very clean, very quiet, but the rooms are quite small. You're staying alone, it's acceptable. But if you're staying with another person, the rooms are too small to be comfortable in.
