As locals who were entertaining tourists who rarely visit Melbourne, we came to Sky High to enjoy dinner with the great view of Melbourne away from the city. Unfortunately the restaurant doesn't maximize their location/view in the way I would as a restaurant owner myself. For me, hospitality is about giving the customer the most rewarding experience for their patronage. As for Sky High - wonderful view outside, but nowhere to sit for dinner while enjoying the view at the same time. With the amazing location they have access to providing for customers, we were shocked at how little they actually utilize that view for dinner.

There was a huge section of the restaurant that had a stunning view of Melbourne with a nice breeze and semi-outdoor covering. But staff had closed off that part of the restaurant with the most stunning view of the valley (not talking about upper floor for events). When we asked why a restaurant with such an amazing view would close off the part of the restaurant that guests would enjoy most? Staff responded rudely and seemed upset that we asked the question. The only dining area we were allowed to sit in was a completely walled off section with very little access to the view.

One of our waitresses was kind, the other was rude. Water came 10 minutes after sitting down, food about 45 minutes. Food was decent enough, although with the risotto being as bland as can be.

All in all, we won't be coming back to Sky High nor will we recommend it to others, and nor will we be taking family and friends who visit from around the world. It's a shame really.

View is simply breathtaking!
U can spot the city from this height slightly covered by the clouds.

It's also a good place for wedding photos and a picnic!

Restaurant has a covers a spectacular view, however the food unfortunately isn't as amazing as the view. Given the price point I expected a lot more.
Presentation of the food looks alright. We had the beef, lamb and salad.

Service by waitress for our table wasn't bad, however it's a hit and miss with some others waitress.

Hi.
14 of us adults and two children thoroughly enjoyed spending another Fathers day morning at the Sky High Mount Dandenong, experiencing wonderful service and a very tasty and filling breakfast.
A staff member even went out of her way to explain everything there was know in order that we enjoyed the experience as much as possible.
Can recommend the venue very highly.

Not great access for people with disabilities. Achievable access if you’re prepared to search. Stair access to gardens too. Steep gravel pathways where there are no stairs.

Still, such stunning views and very peaceful. Lovely staff too.

We ate 'high tea' their this afternoon, the food came out an a 3 tiere stand. It was all beautiful and fresh, you could tell it was made that day. The view was stunning to look at whilst relaxing for the afternoon. We paid $24 a head, they had a great selection of teas available, I was hoping for a few more savory items. Can't wait to head back again 😊

Great view. Overly priced menu. Extremely poor customer service.

I am a local tourist and frequently visits this place. First time to sit in for a coffee and cake inside the bistro and experience was horribly bad. Management needs to seriously look into training their staff on how excellent customer service should be like. Didn’t see a single smile from any of the staff. Felt like they didn’t want to serve us at all (maybe because of our skin colour?) . Will still visit Sky High (for the awesome Melbourne view that it offers) but never going into this bistro again. 😞

Located in the top of Mount Dandenong. Very good view from the platform and good driving experience during the up-road to the top! It is better to organise a night trip! However, remember take a coat with you cause it is cold in the mountain!

Came up here with my partner for dinner expecting a sort of upmarket dinner based one what the website and the pricing on the website had led me to believe. Unfortunately that's not what it was we were served expensive restaurant prices and basically cheap bistro food. My $40 steak was fatty, tough to eat and not cook to the styling I had requested, my partners chicken parmigiana basically summed up what the place was and that was basically bistro/pub style food. I will say that the service was good we were tended too and the waitresses where very sweet and nice but they were unaware of how disappointed we were of our meal and it was quite obvious.

I have been here many times for the view because it is simply gorgeous during the day and night time but the food was just overpriced and disappointing. Somewhere to go to see not somewhere to eat

Great place to arrive to after a tiring hike at the treks and up the hill. Food is still affordable and there is even ice cream and pops. View is pretty good. But ain't too much to do here. Very friendly staff I would say.

SkyHigh Mount Dandenong is a beautiful place with amazing views! It was a fun drive getting there and we made a number of stops along the way looking at the trees and grabbing a bit of eucalyptus to freshen up the car. Stop by and take some great pictures!

I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere to take someone on a date or if you're after somewhere to take and impress your children. The view during and after sunset is nothing short of spectacular. My visit was only a short one so I didn't get to try out the restaurant there, but everything else was superb.

Great view, great service. The food was good and reasonably priced.
The staff were very friendly and efficient. I would like to see the dining area look more like a Restaurant (table cloths etc.)and spruced up a bit.

The view is great, the prices are not. $6+ to go through the gatewhich doesn't actually get you anything because there's nothing to charge an entry ticket for. If you want lunch, you better bring some from home. because the restaurant charges around $12 for chips. Get a coffee here at the most. There's a maze which you have to pay extra for again and the 'secret garden' is always booked out for private functions.
