Been to La Camera many times over the years. Very impressive. Great food friendly staff. Just the best there is in Melbourne. Would highly recommend going. You won't be disappointed 😊😊
My wife and I tried this place last night for the first time and will definitely be back. Service was excellent without being overbearing, and had a great view of the Yarra from the balcony. Our selection of 5 Antipasti plates was delicious and perfectly sized so we could still enjoy our main course. My wife's beef cheek spaccatelle was amazing and my linguine was packed full of fresh seafood. The bill $134.00 for including drinks was pretty standard for the area. Thoroughly enjoyed it and not quite sure how it took so long to try it!
Portion sizes are good. Flavour is lacking, prices are expensive for what you get. They charge $1 for take away boxes, because they are greedy like that.
We had the pizza special which was $26.50. The serving size was generous, but we felt that there just wasn't much topping. We only have a few pieces of salami and cheese and a lot of spinach on top, every mouthful was bland and rather dry and doughy. I would say the total cost of the pizza would be less than $5 to make at home. You are paying 75% of your total bill here for service and the environment. If you are that sort of customer than I guess La Camera would attract you, but if you want value for money look elsewhere.
Great place to have a meal before seeing show or going out. Very busy but service was quick and food was delicious. May be a tad expensive for budget conscious. My wonderful Risotto was $27 but was a decent size. Lovely dark rich ambience
Have been going every year for our wedding anniversary as we had lunch there after wedding. We travel to Melbourne to Celebrated 10 years today from interstate had the worst meal my spaghetti had no flavour and was bland and and I left most of it. I did.complain and the waiter said he'll tell chef and that was it. There was sorry or replacement nothing. My husbands was floury also with hardly any flavor ,.my invoice no is 439210. $76 in total what a waste of money. The wine was good. We will never be back again sorry La Camera
This place is a gem that you wouldn't know was there. Paul runs a top notch place that serves one of the best Roman style pizzas in town. I have been coming here for years for lunch and dinner and am yet to get a bad meal or bad service. In fact here, I don't think I ever will. Highly recommended if you love your Italian and in particular, pizza.
The balcony is a beautiful place to be on a warm Autumn afternoon and the food is really good too. Friendly staff, good serving sizes and reasonably priced too
Aweful pasta. Soggy. Frozen seafood. Sorbet is full of artificial ingredients. Truly one of the worse places I have tried.
My husband and l have dined at La Camera quite a few times now and it is now a favorite. The food is always tasty and beautifully presented. Staff are so friendly and courteous. The lamb dish l chose yesterday had beans accompanying it and they were perfection on a plate. We are looking forward to many more happy experiences at this restaurant. Particularly the Opera night.
Had a wonderful experience here in a group of five. Seated in a cosy booth for dinner on a busy Saturday night the staff couldn't have looked after us better, even providing a side of anchovies for us to add to our pizza which we shared for entree, as not everyone likes anchovies! 🐟 Highly recommend!!
Great river and city view. Tasty food authentic Italian. Staff helpful. Recommend this for vegetarians. You won't regret it. Do try it. Perfect for date night or family night out.
