I only ate at the restaurant where I ordered the beef burger and fries for $20. I was very surprised by how good the burger was and the shoe string fries were perfect as they came out hot. The staff were just the right amount of attentive and the decor simple and clean. May consider a few nights there soon to see wha the rest of the hotel is like.

Easy tram ride to get there. Catering for the event was good. Our function room was too small and cold but we've used more spacious rooms previously.

Nice hotel close to tram stops and city. Staff are really good, friendly and very helpful. Our room is spacious but could have done with a more thorough cleaning, I cleaned the bathroom door and handle as there were dirty finger marks all over the inside of the door. Could do with some shelves for clothes, fine for a few nights but with baggage for 3 weeks, there isn't much storage. Bathroom could do with more space to put toiletries. Great shower! Breakfasts and coffee are wonderful, great variety.

This is the best place to stay in Melbourne. Central to everything great breakfast, super coffee. Staff are also first rate. They could not be faulted.

Just below average on this one. The rooms themselves were great and so were the staff. Food was also good. However my room was situated right next to the lifts during a time when maintenance were taking place on one of the lifts. It wouldnt have been so bad had i been told about the repairs or if i was offered to move rooms after i called up and complained. All i got was i am sorry you weren't told, but they should be stopping soon. I had come off a flight that arrived early that morning and instead of relaxing for a moment i was faced with deafening sound of drills. Not only that i had to wait for my room way past check in time.
Overall the stay was good and will consider staying again due to its location and staff.

It's currently 1am on my first of a 2 night stay at the Jasper Hotel and I am wide awake due to the high level of street noise. The windows have no sound proofing, despite the fact they face onto a very busy road and a tram stop. They are also incredibly poorly sealed so even when closed the noise level would be equivalent to having them open. I've tried to sleep for the past 2 hours, with ear plugs in but keep getting woken by noise.

The bed is uncomfortable (very hard, low quality mattress) and all 4 pillows are shabby - very thin and have already caused me to have a very stiff, sore neck. The night reception has been helpful and brought another but my advice is inspect yours before you go to bed.

I would give a good review of the staff though, the night reception (whose name I unfortunately missed) was responsive to my feedback and arranged for an upgrade which I didn't even need to ask about in the morning. The Duty Manager, Brent, sorted this out for me by 8am the next morning and was just an absolute ray of sunshine to deal with so I went from a 1 star, cranky review to a 3 star but honest.

If you do choose to stay here, make sure you get a room that doesn't front onto Elizabeth St. I would recommend spending extra for the premium rooms, which back onto a lovely quiet courtyard and have a small outdoor space you can sit and read/work in.

This hotel is just around the corner of Queen Victoria Market. It has a good selection of menu and very nice decors. It's good for social visits and dinners. The staff is friendly and patient.

I attended a function here and must say was very pleased with the services and food options. Great clean environment, lots of space and rooms to socialise and display stalls. The food selection was great, catering to different needs. Great location right by a tram stop and walking distance from Melbourne Central.

We had a great room for a fair price. There is also parking available which worked out great. It is a very nice property and would have loved to have had time to stay there longer.

Old building, old and slow lift, carpets were clean but old, there is transparent toilet view inside the room so check out and don't go to toilet if you invite any guest, unlike some other restaurant included breakfast in this hotel is not buffet system so you can only choose one breakfast item and a drink from the set menu options and please allow some extra time in case you need to go somewhere because staffs will not have any clue how long it will take, noisy even at night (probably because it's next to the Queen Victoria Market and the loud sound/music/talk to keep the area busy came from the sound system until 10:40 weekday night) so don't stay if you need to sleep early and if you have issues to sleep with sounds. Room doesn't have a microwave oven to warm your food. However, front desk customer service was good. Room and toilet was of good size with city view. This hotel has free printing, gym, and wifi facilities. This hotel is in the heart of the city. Close to street foods, ALDI, Tram stop. Finally, this hotel is good as a 3 star hotel but doesn't meet 4 star expectation so my overall recommendation of value for the money is 2 star.
