This hotel was being renovated the last time we passed but it did have the best roof terrace bar in Salzburg. Hopefully it will be even better soon.

I cannot comment on the quality of the Hotel, I have never been a guest there. I did however visit the roof terrace a few times. That terrace and the views from it are certainly something else. It is one of the best places to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the city of Salzburg.

Hotel Stein is extremely centrally located and almost ideal for a rest during a busy shopping or sightseeing day.

It is usually quite busy up there, of course one would be tempted to say. Staff are professional, food served on the terrace is ok but selection is very limited. I do need to warn you (and subtract a star) for the prices charged. I understand it is a prime location, I understand Salzburg is an expensive place all around, I understand it is one of the places one goes to see and be seen, but all that does not warrant such pricing

Good view to the castle, besides this, was a broken drawer in our room no body fixed it from day one we reported, no carpets, WiFi is awful!! We needed to stay next to room door just to have 1/4 WiFi reception.
