We recently stayed at the Hotel Sacher in Salzburg. The hotel has an old world charm about it and the location is perfectly situated near the old town. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in that they want to ensure that their guests enjoy themselves while in Salzburg. The room we had was very beautifull, comfortable and large, although the only comment I have regarding our room was that it was somewhat cluttered with a few too many pieces of furniture in it. Otherwise, this is a hotel I would highly recommend for future visitors to this beautiful city.

Had a pleasant stay at Hotel Sacher for two nights. The hotel itself is charming, but you can definitely see it's a bit outdated in the hallways, lobby etc. Our room surprisingly, was very clean (SO many mirrors), and looked recently renovated (part of the hotel was still undergoing renovations during our stay). There was a decent sized gym on the lower level, in the same space as the spa, so it was nice to be able to work out! They really take pride in their "famous" chocolate sachertorte, so all the toiletries unfortunately were all "chocolate" flavoured, and we didn't really want to smell like chocolate after a shower! We ordered room service one evening -- 2 teas at 6 euros a piece, and 2 lackluster apple strudels! Probably wouldn't recommend ordering food here, but the stay was very comfortable!

As a Hotel in an expensive town in Austria, this hotel would undoubtedly deserved it's five star. Facilities are quite modern while keeping their classic feel. Please do adjust our expectation upon entering this Hotel. Do know the concept of spaciousness is always different according to the location. Based on Hotel in Austria, this is a 5 star, but global standard wise, I would rank it more to a four star.

Checked in and allocated room with windows blocked of. Scaffolding outside windows as renovations were in progress. No prior notification. Banging and other noises from 7am to 6pm.
Complained was informed no other rooms available.
Tried to use Hotel cafe but after no one available to see about a table we sat down.
No service. I then contacted reception which resulted in being served a drink 40 minutes after sittng down. Similar lack of service 2 days later. We did not wait just left.
Woke up in morning and found water streaming through ceiling light and electrical fittings. Tried phoning reception but phone not working.
Had to set off fire alarm to get assistance. Apparently as a result of th renovations above a worker had ruptured a main water pipe.
Finally 2 people came up but were in panic mode and instead of evacuating us and our 2 year old baby to a safe area left us alone in the room for another 40 minutes even after we pointed out pur concerns re ceiling caving in as water at this stage was gushing in.
Never received a direct apology.
To top it off on day of checking out I had some business documents which required my signature and a witness to my signature. Hotel staff and Manager refused to witness my signature. Never experienced this vver the last 20 years visting 100's of Hotels.
Terrible experience and I would not recommend this Hotel to my worst enemy.

The room was perfect, full of gadgets for the customers (such as the body lotions, shampoo, flip flops, snacks, a "welcome" mini sacher and fruit, etc); the bathroom is really big and there is also a tv in the mirror. I enjoyed the atmosphere in the hall of the hotel, the receptionists and the crew are really kind and available for everything you need. I only had breakfast there and I think it is the best one I had in a hotel. You can find everything you'ld like to eat, from sweet elements (cakes, cereals, yogurts, honey, different kind of sugars, dry and fresh fruit..) to salad ones (eggs, bacon, vegetables, bread, cheese..).

Love the sachertorte, also when ordering the melange coffee don't eat the cream- let it melt into the coffee. The mocha ice coffee is more a sweet than a coffee.

Have to try the sacher while in Salzburg! Amazing coffee with sacher liquer, I was stuffed when I left!!

A very nice location for lunch right on the banks of the river. Dont forget to try out the Sacher Tort (chocolate cake) which the hotel is famous for.

Located directly on the river, the Sacher hotel offered clean, extravagant rooms with friendly service. The staff was very accommodating to all requests and went above and beyond. I look forward to staying here again soon

The Sacher Torte at the Hotel Sacher was everything I had imagined - not too sweet, a little dry, but perfectly balanced with the rich dollop of cream on top. And to have it outside, with beautiful silver and china, watching the passersby along the Salzach river. A lovely experience for our family.
