Lovely rooms. Bed is comfortable. Attention to detail is great. Service is good and staff is friendly. Breakfast was also great. Reach right from the mall and so quick to access from the airport via the gautrain. Will stay here again.

This hotel is very nice and well-situated on Mandela Square, close to many restaurants and the mall. My room was comfortable and clean. The only problem was that there was a strong sewer smell coming from the drain pipe in the bathroom - it was strong enough that I had trouble sleeping at night. I was able to partially mitigate the problem by closing the bathroom door and drawing the curtain across it, but then the smell would hit me when I went to brush my teeth in the morning. I told the hotel staff and they said this was a common problem (my coworker also complained about the same issue). The hotel sent a maintenance person to my room but he was not able to fix the issue as it had to do with the drainage pipe installation. Unfortunately I experienced this unpleasant room smell for 7 days. It was disappointing that such an upscale hotel would not be able to solve this issue which obviously affected other guests as well. I appreciated all of the hotel's amenities but would hesitate to stay there again unless the drainage pipe issue gets resolved.

I have spend almost two months living here and I have to say the hotel has everything you need. Nice breakfast service, one of the best I had for a hotel. Nice pool area and really cool lobby. The gym needs an update but nothing you can´t work around. The staff is the best great friendly caring people.

I stayed in the hotel for business meetings for several days. Overall I had a good experience. Hotel was clean and modern with ample amenities. The conference facilities were well set up and catering was well varied and never went wanting. Late day chocolate cookies were always a hit. Couple of improvement opportunities, breakfast was a bit hit and miss, gym never seemed to have towels in the morning and perhaps it's worth adding another elliptical runner as there is only one. Overall I hope to have a chance to stay again.

Upmarket hotel with a great concierge in the heart of Sandton city with direct easy access to the shopping mall and convention centre. The staff is friendly and efficient and the food is good. However the bathroom doors slam when closed, the pool is awkwardly situated next to restaurant and we spent the night with our neighbors trying to open our door.

The night was great and the service was great too until I was left very disappointed by the porter who while my siblings and I watched as we waited for our Uber, opened the door for all the white people arriving and departing. When our ride came along he blatantly just stood there!! We even went as far as asking him if he would open for us too and he simply said NOPE! I did not appreciate such behaviour AT ALL

The location of this hotel is undoubtedly ideally situated in Sandton. Has ample underground parking, close proximity to Gautrain, attached to Sandton Shopping center, reasonable sized rooms with adequate facilities within, wifi and restaurant. Service is good however the one thing that is disappointing is the breakfast. The most glaring short coming was the level of cleanliness, almost everything where the food is placed was sticky and many plates, cutlery, cups etc were not properly washed with clear visible signs of grease or stains from previous use. Even the seating felt sticky. This was very disturbing.

Great hotel. Really nice rooms. Two reasons I gave them a 4 out of 5: the door to the bathroom is glass and the light switches for the room are hidden on the side of the bed (hard to find). Other than that, a good experience.

Great staff that are very friendly and approachable. Room itself was spacious and well equipped with iron, blow dryer, bath tub. Each floor is accessed only via card. It's very well positioned next to Mandela square, and connected to Sandton city mall. You can be in the mall in 2 minutes, and eating at Butcher Shop in 5.

Fantastic, 5 Star experience and stay during my vacation in South Africa. The location is perfect for those who do not want to venture out much as it is located on Nelson Mandela square..Many restaurant and shopping options steps away. So close you do not have to go outside. Elevator down and you are there. Lastly, a metropolitan lounge for those who want late entertainment on the weekend. I look forward to returning..

Hotel and staff are amazing, but rooms doors noisy should be solved, and food dishes names should be mentioned in restorance, and halal and not halal food should be mentioned also

I went down to use the gym facilities. The steam room in the bathroom was off so I asked 2 use it. Receptionist switched it on. Upon enterin it, it smelled repugnant so I asked a therapist 2 please apply a few drops of eucalyptus, but she rudely refused saying there wasn't & stormed off. The door does not close which meant the steam room would obviously not be able 2 heat up so i told another therapist about it but she too was rude & unhelpful. So I set in it & manually put something against the door to keep it closed. It did not warm up so i stepped out & looked at the walk unit which said that automatically switched off as there's a fault with it. I reported it to the receptionist who directed me to use the steam room in the relaxation area instead. It was 3pm & there were 3 foreign African day users in there who I befriended & sat chatting to until 4.15pm when they left, at which time I got into the steam rasul. @ 4.30pm the therapists came in, opened the door to steam rasul, looked at me & left. 2 minutes later, Nelly reopened the door, except this time she opened it all the way letting out all the steam completely exposing my naked body & letting in the cold air onto my wet body. Sh along with the short fat therapist very aggressively & rudely commanded me to get out stating I could not use it. I was COMPLETELY violated as I'm a modest Muslim woman who is completely covered. When she closed the door, I stepped up to exit but they now had removed my bathroom that was on the outside of the steam & had my personal belongings in it, & left only hand towel there which I had 2 use 2 conceal my private part with & exit the relaxation area in trying to locate them to retrieve my gown! It was utterly humiliating. They said they did not know anyone was in the steam, which was a blatant lie as all 3 had come in only 5 minutes prior & clearly seen me by opening the steam door ENTIRELY & exposing me to intimidate, harass & bully me.
The slippers I went down in were wet & they did not provide me another pair so as I was in the lobby heading back to my room, I slipped on my left side severely injuring my left thigh, buttock, back, & shoulder & hand which I used to break the fall.response / report this review -
