In the process of getting renovated but room was nice and it was 20 minutes away from anime weekend atl for a good price
Small clean hotel in heart of technology Park area. Plenty of food and entertainment nearby. About ten minutes from I85 and I285.
Everything in the room was well maintained and clean. Staff was helpful. Reasons for the 4 star is due to the construction going on (8/19/2017) and the parking lot. Parking lot was somewhat small and had potholes (probably due to the construction). Another reason was there was no big sign that said "Wingate" to let you know where it was. Overall the place was well kept and the experience was great.
Accommodations were reasonable. However, we had to move rooms at first because we were told the room we booked had a pull out couch for a 3rd guest but it did not. Breakfast was very limited. Large parts of the building are under renovation, but it was not an inconvenience. Overall a good place to stay for a reasonable price
Yup the hotel was definitely Under-construction!! Booked online got a decent rate! Setbacks no ice in the whole hotel, the lobby was pretty warm seemed like the air wasn't running. My room was decent for the price. I was only spending the night there; did get a couple bug bites in the morning. The breakfast was ok waffles & bacon and some what of an omelet! The hotel is convenient and near the highway!!
The property is currently under construction as of my stay April 2017, so there was a bit of noise and debris here and there. Wasn't so bad. But the room I was given had super tiny pillows and there was a used plastic flosser stuck in the air conditioner that made it rattle. I didn't notice how uncomfortable the pillows were until I tried to sleep on them. I walked to the front desk to get some more. They said they would send someone up. I waited and after 20 min I called back, just to check on them thinking they had forgotten about me. The night desk woman was a bit short with me just for asking if they were having someone come or not. After 10 more minutes, I got the full sized pillows the room should have had in the first place. So I didn't appreciate that sort of reaction from her. The breakfast they had available was decent and the rest of the staff I dealt with were nice. I would stay again after they were done with construction.
I stayed 2 nights. The sign at the front said"Pardon our dust. We are remodeling". The 1st night there was a 2 1/2 hour power outage. (transformer fire somewhere) The 2nd night storms rolled through, more power outage, but the issue wasMY CEILING LEAKED ONTO MY BED!!!! I tried to call the front deskNO PHONE CORD ON THE PHONE!!! So, down to the front desk I went. They did give me different room. Nothing like changing rooms at 11:00 at night.
The next morning I made mention of the issues. All I received was "Oh, sorry for the inconvenience." NOTHING ELSE. When you have issues like that you shouldn't have to ask for discounts or other things to satisfy the customer.
I have made mention of this to our corporate travel group and they are looking into the situation.
If you like a dive motel that also serves as a time capsule for everything bad about the late 90s, look no further. The dated and rather threadbare decor mixes nicely with the fine layer of debris strewn about the place, while a lingering scent of stale cigarette smoke and marijuana rounds out the ambience. There was a nice trail of garbage leading the way down our hall when we checked in at 6PM Friday, and it was still there when we left at 10 the next day. I'm not sure how many people have overdosed at this establishment, but if you need to leave this world of untold pain and suffering, you could do worse than the parking lot view of the 3rd floor as you shuffle off your mortal coil. On a lighter note, the bathroom ceiling had been victimized by a leak at some point and appeared ready to fall in at any moment, lending a spirit of adventure to what could have been just another quick shower on the road. The desk clerk was as surly as could be expected and seemed genuinely perturbed when I drew her attention away from worldstar videos on her phone to see about a replacement toothbrush for the one I'd lost. Bonus: although she told me someone would deliver one to the room, neither the someone nor the toothbrush ever appeared.
We couldn't even stay here- it was so dark and creepy. The room we booked initially was locked from the inside so we couldn't enter. The second had crushed bugs on the walls and the third we tried was dark and smelly. The hotel is in desperate need of renovations. I honestly don't know how it has so many positive reviews.
The room was nice for the price, but the service was not. The time on the alarm clock was not set, which doesn’t seem like a big problem until you don’t have your phone, which I didn’t. So after spending 20 minutes trying to set the time on the archaic device, I called the front desk for directions. The girl informed me that I could not reset the clock myself and that the head of housekeeping, a man, would have to come in my room to set it himself. I told her to never mind, as I was a single woman already in bed for the night, if she could please just give me a wakeup call at 7am the next morning. My wakeup call came at 6:25am. Rudeness or stupidity? Either way it’s bad… and they should have prepared the room before the guest arrived. You each have one job.
