Coolest hotel I've ever been in. The walls are filled with graffiti-like paintings, the rooms are enormous, well designed. The staff is really nice. You have valet service and everything. Really close to Venice Beach and marina del rey. Recommended!
What a great find. Very nice hotel the staff are super friendly. Just a fun place to stay
Great little boutique hotel in a good location. The lobby, pool deck area and the rooms are decorated in a cool mid-century retro theme but very tasteful, clean, and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Very trendy vibe, has an açai bar inside (delicious) and is within walking distance to the beach (15 min) & Abbot Kinney. Staff was outstanding. Emerson at the front desk went out of his way to make sure our trip was packed with places to see and great food. He's the guy! We followed his advice and had a 10/10 experience. He even asked how our work event went the next day. Juan also suggested a good ramen spot, greatly recommend asking him for advice as well. Emerson and Juan really care for guests and go the extra mile.
The hotel is very cool, and located right near the end of Abbot Kinney. There is plenty of free street parking, which beats the $25/night valet. The hotel has a cool pool and lounge area with ping pong tables to relax and just hang.
I booked at the Kinney because of its amenities and positive reviews when the other place I was going to stay had a change in management and recent poor reviews. I'm staying here 6 nights and 2 nights in, I'd definitely recommend the Kinney. The location is great for getting around by foot or car. The rooms are fun and colorful. The staff are friendly and the housekeeping is thorough. Parking on the street for free seems easy to find. Free wifi! Excellent heated pool! 3 stories with motel feel because of opening to outdoor hallways. Only 1 main entrance monitored by staff, so secure feeling. Lots of local restaurant options and can easily walk to nearby grocery stores, too! My visit was to Loyola Marymount University which is only 3.2 miles away and a very easy drive. Mini fridge, too! Bed is super-comfy, air-conditioning works great, and room smells clean and fresh.
Simple but good hotel. Basically it's an old motel that has been upgraded. Quite fun decor, with bright colours and a mid century feel. In a certain sense this is "very LA". Attention to details could be better, but the location is quite good for the beach and the ever popular Abbot Kinney shopping area. That said, I found it a bit pricey, but it's also peak of summer, so it may be understandable.
The staff was great! Our flight out of LAX wasn't until 4, and check out time was at noon. They let us stay until 1:30 which shortened our sitting around the airport time considerably. The decor was modern and retro, with fun, funky pops of color and huge mural of The Doors. The room was amazing, too. I'd definitely recommend staying here. And next time I'm in LA this is where I'll be staying.
I had a great nights stay. But i didn't know i couldn't smoke legal weed inside because i wasn't the one who made the rental agreement. It cost my friend another 250 on his card. Smoke weed right outside the front door because if you smoke in your room you are paying for it twice. otherwise Awesome stay
Great rooms, location and value
I came here with my boyfriend in early summer. The room was beautiful, decorated in a retro style, the bed was soooo comfortable and it came complete with a selfie mirror in the bathroom. There's an intimate pool and jacuzzi area we used as well. The breakfast was much better than a regular continental breakfast, they had fresh eggs and either sausages or bacon. The manager and staff were all extremely polite and helpful. They gave us neighborhood recommendations for when we didn't have plans and all of them were great. We even used the bike rental to bike up and down Venice beach. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach or an 8 minute bike ride but it's a nice route so we walked there most of the time. Honestly, not a bad thing to say about the hotel.
Great hotel and staff. It's a hike to the beach which was a bit of a bummer. We opted to walk one way and Uber ($5-6 to most restos, beach, etc) the other. Rooms were clean, beds were a bit soft, not much of a view. The outdoor space is great though. Breakfast was tasty -- eggs, bagels, toast, bacon/sausage, fruit, cereal, etc.
Very comfortable beds and the continental breakfast was much better than expected. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.
