My parents had their company Christmas party at the Allegan Grill House. They accommodated 13 people at the last minute since other reservations fell through. They were super grateful and were excited to eat there because they heard great things! Unfortunately the night took a turn for the worse. It took over 30 minutes to get drinks and an hour and 45 minutes to get the food. After waiting over an hour for food they asked the waitress to just cancel the meals. After that the manager came out and was incredibly rude, not only to the customers, but also to the waitress. That night they had spent over $1,200.00 in meals and drinks, not including tip (well over 20%). A disappointment because they lost a great amount of business from this sad experience.

Nice place. No steaks at lunch. Nice lunch food great French onion soup. Nice sandwiches and pizza. Good number of bottled beers.

Absolutely love this place!!!! My fiancee, son , father in law and I are all from Shelby township, out in paw paw doing work. We visit this place every single Thursday! Love the option to grill your steak in the grill room, un limited sides, tons of seasonings to choose from , and what friendly staff! My favorite employee is Ashley. She is so firendly and has such a smile on her face. My son fell in love with her ( he is 4) and talks about her all the time she was even so nice and made him this cinnamon toast drizzling with chocolate with a #4 on it for him and man it was good! Would completely recommend this place. My son really enjoys all the kids choices they have and are all under $7! Go try it out!

Food was awesome! We did the grill your own option and had the New York strip. They were very helpful with the tips for cooking it to your liking as well as explaining the options for sides. They have plenty of seasonings to try out. No wait and we went around 5:45 pm.

Really enjoy this place! The food is great and you have the option of selecting and grilling your own steak. We would like to try that the next time we come. They also have entertainment some evenings. If you arrive at the right time, you might get seated at one of their swing tables

Awesome place for more than just steak. We come here for many of the birthdays or just a family dinner. This is a great date place. Would highly recommend.

We have friends who had expressed a desire to try this place out. My wife & i had visited the Grill House last year for our anniversary and really enjoyed it.
We went on a busy Saturday night and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. All of us decided to get the "full experience" and grill our own. Another 30 minute wait after we were seated.response / report this review -

What an unbelievable disappointment. I made a reservation for mother's day over a month in advance, and was excited to take my mother there (along with other family members). I was expecting a classy dining experience. Oh how mistaken I was. The clientele and the waitstaff were dressed like they were flinging hamburgers. Men were coming in in cut off jeans and wife beaters. But it's not the atmosphere that I was really disappointed with, it was the atrocious service and poor quality food. We waited over an hour to get our mealas did everyone around us. I had my daughter with me who was beyond frustrated and hungry. They apparently take reservations, but also have no qualms with letting more people be seated than they can possibly serve, thus making a horrible dining experience for everyone. They not only didn't have the wait staff to keep up, they didn't have the grill space or cooking staff. They were in no way able to make it an enjoyable experience. As to quality, my $32 dollar steak was so-so at best. I chose not to grill it myself (thinking they would do a better job), but it seems that was a mistake. It was tough and poorly seasoned. The sides are something you could get at a low quality buffet. My mother's coffee was cold and the cream (which took 10 minutes to get after the coffee arrived) was spoiled and clumpy. The salad was poorly dressed and full of wilted brown lettuce. I would never recommend this restaurant or return myself. I was so sad and embarrassed that the nice meal I wanted to give my mother was so poor. As a side note: I realize this is a grill house, but they need at least one vegetarian option. My vegetarian husband (who paid for the meal) had to eat a few mushrooms and a skewer of vegetables.

Went here last night for dinner. We were rushed through our appetizer and asked if we wanted our salads boxed up to take home, without being served. We asked to have our salad and we would wait a little longer to grill our steaks. In the middle of our salad we were again asked if we were ready for the grill. We asked if we could finish our salad. Then when we did go to the grill, the young man rushed through explaining the process to have a personal conversation with other female workers. Overall not a great first time experience. The food was very good but the service was lacking to say the least.

It was our first visit and everything went wonderful. We had Rhonda as our server and she was fabulous. She made our experience over the top. The staff at the grill walks you though everything you need, timing on how you like your steak and vegetables. We had steaks, the cuts were amazing. We all stuffed ourselves. We surprised a couple of our friends with cakes for their bithdays, Rhonda and the staff did everything right with the guys. The cakes looked awesome and the cake just melts in your mouth. We will go again.

First time to celebrate my Dad and oldest son's birthday. Group of 20. The service and waitress is five stars but never will go again. Way over priced for stagnant food. No flavors to steaks, hamburgers, pork, calamari, fried cod and chicken, ect. We ordered a variety of food. Save your money, better steak houses are Logan's and Texas Road House. No lie and we are a family who loves to eat. Also, you will leave with tons of pet hair and other peoples hair clinging from your clothes top to bottom - Disgusting!! Made me gag just thinking of how much hair which was not our own may had fallen into the food.
