Love this place. The food , servers and service are top notch. I went for my birthday, and they treated me and my husband like royals. Thank you, can't wait to go back again.

I have driven by this place many times, and I found it to be simply magical. However, that is the best part about dining at this place. As a regular consumer of fine dining (2-4 times per month at a five-star dining establishment), I was simply elated to be eating at this restaurant. Trip Advisor noted that there would be gluten-free options so I was all-set. When we arrived, I asked three people for a gluten-free menu. They do not have one. At this point, I should have walked out and gone to McCormick and Scmidt's. However, we were already there and had a reservation. So I was told that they could customize things to be gluten-free. We started out ordering the shrimp cocktail and confirmed with the waiter that yes it was gluten-free. The plate came with bread on it. Not-gluten free. Then, I ordered a 12 oz. steak medium rare with mashed potatoes. The steak was very thick so about 3/4 of it was well down with some pink bits in it. The mashed potatoes were good but not nearly as good as the mashed potato puree at Gordon Ramsey's Steak in Las Vegas. I sent back the steak. My dining companion was completely finished with his food before the second try came around. The second time about half of it was cooked through, and half of it was red. At this point, we were 1.5 hours into dinner so I just cut out the pieces which were red and ate those. I did have three chocolate truffles for dessert which were excellent. Although some of the meal was comped, I would have gladly paid double for perfect service and a mouth-watering meal. This place just did not deliver that experience. When we went to get our vehicle from the valet, they brought around a giant F250 pick up truck. I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee so even the valet tried to give me the wrong car. I thought we might have been on a hidden camera show.

Our favorite cigar bar! Great atmosphere, great food, and awesome drinks. Love the staff there, they are very friendly and nice. Comfy seats and feels like home!

Excellent food and decor, but the staff was a little pretentious. They warm up, but it was a tense first impression. Wear business casualif you don't use valet or show up in a luxury vehicle, you might get the cold shoulder to start with. The wife and I walked in - and I have a big beard - so they might have thought I was a lumberjack. $200 including 1 drink and tip for a couple's dinner

From the happy hour to dinner Big Rock is always on point. They aim to please and always do. Head up stairs for a cigar and a drink afterward, Tony will treat you right.

Always a nice environment, friendly staff and great food. There is an outdoor area when the weather is nice. Also the Got Rocks cigar bar upstairs is a perfect getaway.

Had my Wedding Rehearsal Dinner in the Cellar Room. Felt Like a King! Amazing Service and food. Returned Today for our 1yr anniversary dinner , and again , Phenomenal Service (Phillip was His name) , outstanding food (I had the duck ,the wife had the Chicken entree) . Black Label Drink Was made Perfect ! They were out of Calamari , bummer, bc it's top shelf . Steak Bits appetizer was Cooked rare, again , very good.

I have bad luck with most restaurants, and Big Rock has yet to let me down.

Total for 1 top shelf Mixed drink , 2 entrees , 1 appetizer , and a shared piece of "Eric's Birthday Cake" was only $105 (plus tip).
That's a great price in my opinion , especially for Birmingham!

most importantly is the food. tremendous. Dorothy our waitress was very knowledgeable of the food. described in detail what to expect. if ur not familiar with high end meats ( like myself, she made it simple ). expensive , but fair for the delicious food. you will taste the smallest details. the creamy house sauce, the complimentary bread is amazing. we orders calimaei for our appetizer. very very good. pork chops and steaks. top notch food. not a place I can afford wakly, but perfect for special occasion. . thankyou Dorothy for all your recommendations

Amazing as always. Service is top notch and food is always above and beyond what you expect.

Wine list from around the world.

They stuff their own olives for their martinis.

    Salads are large and fresh.

Steaks melt in your mouth and are cooked to perfection.

Sides are large and easy to share

Dessert menu is large and has something for everyone.

Full bar and great social scene. Inside and patio searing. Great for groups or a date night.

    Reservations recommended.

I come here at least 3 times a month. If you come to the bar just for happy hour, the prices are amazing for the food and drinks. The bartenders will remember you down to your drink order and are always attentive. I was especially impressed when the bartenders upstairs remembered both my drink and cigar a month and a half later. These are great people and I highly recommend this place
