One of our favorite spots. Features a farm to table menu which has never disappointed us. Sits right on KC's light rail. Auto parking can be scare at times. Great bar. Farmhouse Breakfast Old Fashioned is a good start to the weekend.

    Updated review:
My husband and I went to Happy hour here and the food was delicious! My favorite were the cheese curds and he enjoyed the duck rolls. The rabbit turnover was good but the sauce was a tad too sweet. Also overall the dishes were slightly over salted. Otherwise, the service was great as has been my experience before and we definitely recommend others try this place out.

    Original review:
Service was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere overall. The salad lacked substantial dressing, which some may appreciate. Also the quiche was pretty average.

Great food. I ordered the Open Face Ravioli and my mom orders the special Quinoa salad. So much flavor in both. The portions were very reasonable. I wasn't over stuffed or still hungry, especially after dessert (which i actually had room for). The staff felt genuinely happy and helpful. Our server Taylor was fantastic! Will definitely be back with friends.

Fun atmosphere, reclaimed-wood decor, high-ceilinged rooms. I was there for lunch at 12:30 on a Tuesday and was seated right away. I ordered the pork belly stroganoff, which was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a coffee -- which came in a full French press! I look forward to going back again to try some of their signature cocktails.
The building is split in half. The bar side of the building seats maybe seven at the bar and then maybe 24 people at a set of tables (mainly two tops and four tops). The dining room side of the building has tables of many sizes and can accommodate large groups, although when full of people conversing it is quite loud. They also have a large outdoor seating area with a wood fireplace at one end.
There was parking on the street.

Everything is fresh from local farms and suppliers, and it shows! Cooked perfectly and served by knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Cocktails are some of the best i've had anywhere! Will definitely return!

Brunch is outstanding, well worth the price you pay. Staff is always friendly and on top of the refills and making sure the guests are happy and well taken care of. If you haven't been here before, make a reservation for a Sunday Brunch!

food was FANTASTIC. Service was lack-luster and disinterested. He wasn't busy, just curt and walked away before my wife could finish ordering. Definitely overshadowed an amazing meal. Will return to give service another shot.

Had great food, and our server Scooter was very accommodating with a special menu for my paticular needs. They have a bar and a cute outdoor dining area. We will be back.

Great melt in your mouth barbeque sandwich. French press coffee at our table. Everything was from the local area. We topped off our lunch with "not your normal" bread pudding that was AMAZING to our taste buds. We sat on the east side so we could watch the street car pass by. "Scooter", the name of our server, was always pleasant and at our table just when needed. All of the employees were a joy to visit with. There is a full bar and an outside courtyard here also. We found parking very close by at the lunch hour.

Went for the first time on a Sunday morning for brunch. Meeting an old friend, great ambiance. Friendly staff, helpful and attentive. Make a reservation, or they'll put you on the list and text you. Which was no biggie, we just went for a walk in thr meantime. Highly recommend.

Very delicious coffee. Ate here for breakfast. Although the food was delicious, it wasn't anything too special. I ordered pancakes and my friend ordered french toast. Will definitely go back but try something different.

Of the many farm to table restaurants that have popped up in Kansas City over the past few years, the Farmhouse is the one that has most fully embraced the philosophy. Their menu varies often based on seasonal availability of ingredients, though you will always find some variation on certain breakfast staples, like quiche, omelettes, oatmeal or eggs benedict. Expect to pay a little more for the farm to table experience. Expect to pay a lot more for alcohol.

If you're dying to go to the Farmhouse, I recommend making a reservation. It can get pretty crowded during breakfast and lunch, especially on the weekends when City Market is swamped with visitors.

Based on my past experiences, you can expect a quality meal. I've been more impressed with the quality of their food during lunch, but the various small plates and entrees will cost you a bit more than you would pay at breakfast. By comparison, I've found that the portions at breakfast are a little larger, but the food seems to come out of the kitchen so quickly that some items taste slightly under cooked.

For me, the most important quality is that this place always has a vegetarian and vegan option available. And while the restaurant feels a little pretentious, with their local sources plastered all over an entire side of the menu, you can expect a good dining experience.

Incredible farm to table dinning experience. The passion for quality experiences shines through putting The Farmhouse at the top of my recommendation list for everyone. Whatever desert they are serving, save room for it.

The food was amazing! The staff was awesome. And the restaurant is very clean and has a rustic, city vibe to it. Plus it's farm to table so everything is fresh and local!

This place is good. But there are a few prerequisites for you though. This place is a genuine Farm-to-table restaurant. If you order a turkey club, it is but some gourmet deli style turkey, it will be TURKEY. White, Dark, whatever they have. So be prepared. But the coffee there is an amazing French Press coffee
