Very disappointed, appetizer of mussels- something was off, no one bothered to ask us if it was OK or if we liked it, bus boy took it away, waiter never asked. Entree was OK, had a steak Oscar style, Bernese sauce was odd, just seemed like all clarified butter. Steak was a very good cut, wife had scallop entree, it was OK but for $40 you would figure more than 3 scallops. Not one time did our waiter check to see if our meal was OK, very mediocre service. My wife and I have been there several times prior and I have always gave 5 star and recommend to my friends, think it is time to try somewhere else, just dropped $200 for a disappointing meal. Sad.

I can only attest to the bar area. It was awesome! One of the top three bars I've ever enjoyed cocktails in. The drinks were top shelf, I actually ordered absinthe that was on the top shelf, and watching the bartender cheerfully put all that effort into my cocktail made the price worth it.

Really great food. Starting from raw oysters to all other delicacies. They also have a full bar inside with a great selection of liquor and cocktails. Server was really nice and helpful in letting us finding good items. I will definitely return if I go to Kansas City again.

Beautiful restaurant with excellent food! The bar is gorgeous. They have a wall of bottles that catch the light.

We had dinner in the wine cellar and they have a huge selection of wine. The rooms are private so it is great for large parties.

I had the Kansas City Strip and it was super tasty! Well seasoned. Perfect rare temperature.

The dessert was a chocolate mousse pot and it was light and rich at the same time. Delicious!

One of the worst steaks I've ever paid to eat at a restaurant. There was actually 18 of us in the group. Four of us at one table all got the same ribeye steak. Tasted like it had been previously frozen. And tough like an old dairy cow. The potatoes were good though.

Service is horrible, the waiter never check back after putting food on the table. Olive Garden severs would provide better service than this place. Steak that I ordered was overcooked, it was hard and chewy. Hard enough to knock someone out if you hit a person with it. Long Horn's steak would be many grades above what I had.

I had a high expectation for this restaurant, but my experience dining there was horrible and subpar. After reading the reviews, I was expecting food quality to be similar, or very close, to Capital Grille. Surprisingly, food quality is similar to Red Lobster, which is quite low to what the restaurant is charging you. Atmosphere is nice, but that is nothing special and it is dime a dozen in KC metro.

So, in short, this place is like buying a Honda Accord for the price of BMW 550. If you dine at upscale restaurants on a regular basis, Pierpont's is worth skipping.

Wonderful ambience from the lounge with its multi-tiered bar to the private dining rooms. Steaks are superb, service is wonderful, and the wine list is excellent. Gilded Age architecture is worthy of John Pierpont Morgan's Legacy.

Lunch only so the check doesn't hurt as bad, but the cooks do a fine job during the day with sandwiches, salads and soups. I sit at the bar. It's best there.

Came here for Christmas dinner with the girlfriend. We went with the 4 course tasting menu w/ wine pairings. It did not disappoint. Our server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and was able to make recommendations based on our tastes and preferences. If you're in the Kansas City Union Station District this place is a must visit. The architecture in the old train station created environment unlike much others I've been to in the Kansas City area. This type of service is something I expect in New York. Can't wait to return.

One of the most beautiful venues in Kansas City located in Union Station with 2 story marble ceilings, a tremendous bar area, excellent food and top notch service. The Crab bisque is amazing, steaks melt in your mouth and Happy Hour is great place to meet clients or friends. It's high end so expect to spend at least $100 for dinner and drinks for 2 people but worth it and perfect for special occasions. There are private dining rooms in the lower level perfect for holiday parties, entertaining clients or just an intimate get together.

My wife and I went here for lunch and the food and atmosphere were amazing! Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated immediately and treated like honored guests. Ronald was our server, who was a complete gentleman and had a great personality. I would highly recommend asking for him if you go there! Overall the food was right for the price and the decor was great. We will definitely go back the next time we are in town!
