I came here once at sat night. It a good place for some beer , they play live music as well. The restroom for men is located at second floor.
Really nice atmosphere. Super busy in the evening but lots of room upstairs and down
Relaxed local bar by day, college party crowd and bands by night. Good happy hour.
We were walking across the street and my wife tripped and fell. An employee of Kelly s ran over to help, gave us a water and offered a snack. Bar. Every place needs people like Kelly's..
Kelly's is a Westport institution: it was established sometime before the pyramids were erected and will likely out last the very country it sits in. I've only been once but it was much too clean and friendly, so I go to Buzzard Beach now. Still, there are worse things than good service, knowledgeable bartenders, and decent pizza in the back.
Great Bar70 years of success. In my opinion, Kelly's Westport Inn is Kansas City's Hometown Pub.
Pat, Colleen & Mitch truly carry on the family "Irish Hospitality". Proud to be KC.
Oldest freestanding building in Kansas City. It is a wonderful bar as one is spoiled for choices. Rooftop deck is also a big bonus.
The management at this place is on a power trip. My girlfriends and I were having a good time on a girls weekend and we were treated horribly. We are mom's and are very responsible adults. We were not going to be driving and we were very simply having a good time. They refused us service for no legitimate reason. I understand being cautious of overserving bar guests but that's not what was going on whatsoever. We were told to leave when it was pouring down rain and they had no sympathy for that and insisted that we leave anyway, only to get soaked on the sidewalk due to the rain. It was like this one guy just got his mind set on us having to leave and would not let it go even though we had done nothing wrong. Shame on them to treat paying customers that way, not to mention 4 women from out of town. I wouldn't give this place a dime of my money again. The "oldest bar in KC" is actually the place who employs the rudest people in KC.
Great vibe for are bar. Staff is always friendly and service is great.
This is the "OG" of all the bars in the Westport area. Been around since as long as I can remember. Live music and a 'makeshift dance floor' that could be in a better location (directly outside the bathrooms) with more room for people to shake their groove thing. Attracts a younger mid-20s crowd the later in the evening it gets and tends to be a little crowded and becomes heavily 'testerone fueled' at that point, which is when it's time to leave for older guys like myself. Reasonable drink prices.
Kelly's has been a consistently good place for as long as I can remember. A good place in Westport to meet friends, cheap drinks, a little crowded at peak times but most good places are.
I really was not impressed drinking a beer out of a plastic cup, oh well But the pizza was not good at all. The bartender made it very clear that the pizza place though in the same room was s different place all together.
One of the oldest places in KC still serving beer at a very fair price. Very nostalgic feel. Nice bar tender!
