Im starting off with this note yes a kid died here and yes the park opened after 4 days but lets get to the point.
Here is a list of why i do not recommend thi
s place
1. The staff is very rude and ignorant
2. Everything is too expensive
3. The food is greasy
4. The paths are covered in trash
5. A child died here
6. The rides for some reason have there paint is scraping off
7. I had to wait 39 minutes for a locker
8. The main ride is being demolished
9. We had to pay more than $560 for a party reservation for 2 hours

I was very disappointed with the park compared to last years visit. I appreciate very much what the park does for military families providing free tickets for service members and half off for spouses during labor day week. This is something my husband and I look forward to every year however this year I was really disappointed. When we went a majority of the attractions were closed and one even stopped working while we were on it. I went to purchase food and the "Sweets Shop" that was supposed to be open was closed because the manager said that the staff didn't come in for their shift. We were also told a majority of the attractions were closed because of the lack of staff. As I stated we were very thankful that $20 payed for both of our tickets with the military special but I was still very disappointed since we drove hours to have a great day at the park and could hardly enjoy it since nothing was open. I would have been more upset if we would have paid full price but am giving it 2 stars for the nice gesture they show towards military families around Memorial Day every year.

We went to schlitterbahn today and half the rides were closed. They had a sign at the front saying rides were open at certain times and they did not open when advertised. When asked, employees stated they did not have the lifeguard staff to man all the rides. If they are going to charge as much as they do, they should have all the rides open or not open until they have the staffing to cover all the rides.

The tallest attraction of the park is not operating for long time (it is coming down) but it is still mentioned on the web as one of attractive feature. I felt cheated that second high slide ride was also not operational. The park wasn't operational in full. They operated only half of the water trails at one time. So if you are visiting just for half day, you may miss some of the limited fun rides. Staff was friendly, being it memorial day holiday, it wasn't crowded. I have been in the Schlitternahn Galveston and this park is nothing if compared with Galveston one.
For the amount being charged and the number of trails, rides they operate at one time is not justifiable.response / report this review -

The park itself is a lot of fun. The lifeguards are super helpful and constantly keeping up on their skills to ensure public safety. Lucky guests can actually witness staged rescues and skill work. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rides are a lot of fun, and competely safe if ridden and used properly according to the rules and instructions set forth by the park.
And the use of names belonging to local rivers is super cute. A great place to visit for locals and tourists alike!response / report this review
