Consistently great pastas offered on the pasta trio table side option. Too much food for me, but I always order it anyway because it is so good! Fantastic historic atmosphere in the grand freighthouse building, next to Union Station. Service pleasant and efficient.

Easily my favorite go-to spot for lunch, brunch, or dinner! Establishment is very unique and fancy. I️ highly recommend giving it a try!

The never-ending pasta meal is always a go-to. They make the best ravioli I've ever had. You also must try the pork shoulder. The Caesar salads are delicious and huge - completely reasonable to split. Seasonal desserts and espresso available as well. We always bring out of town visitors here and they usually leave with a cookbook as well! This place is usually busy so get a reservation just to be safe.

Great service and amazing food. We had previously had bought Lidia’s sauce and was impressed. The restaurant didn’t disappoint. This is probably the best Italian food I’ve had in Kansas so far. I can’t recommend enough.

Absolutely the worst service we have had. When we first stepped in, the host just starred at us, creepily without greeting us. The man next to him, which I would presume was the manager then rudely asks "do you have a name?" I thought it was strange considering it was lunch on a Tuesday and the place was about 10% full. I said I did not, assuming he was asking that I had a reservation. Then he barks back "just give me a name". He then sighs and takes us and sits us at the back right next to the wait station. Again, the place was close to empty. We were seated for about ten minutes without being greeted or having one word said to us. Finally, the waitress comes up to us, drops the bread down, quickly pours the water (with some of it splashing out onto us) and leaves without saying a single word. We wait for another five minutes without anything and decided to get up and leave. The entire staff seemed to be in a horrible mood and it was an extremely unwelcoming environment. It was one of the most bizarre dining experiences I have had.

This was hugely disappointing, considering that my wife and I enjoy Lidia Bastianich's show and cookbooks. Unfortunately, we will most likely not be back again and will not recommend it to anyone we know. There are plenty of fantastic Italian restaurants in town without the attitude.

Greeting and busing service great, waitress, moderately rude, (when asked about wine told"you wouldn't now what I was saying", two of three entrees were great, we think they ran out of the sea bass and substituted a different fish. Definitely not sea bass. Desserts great, but had to ask for the menu.
Young lady and young man that provided water, bread and bussing service were wonderful.

I took my daughter here for her birthday for Saturday brunch. Everything was amazing! The service was awesome! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it! Even the picky teen loved everything she ate (and usually that isn't much). I would definitely recommend it!

This is my favorite restaurant. Period. This is for one simple reason. The food tastes fantastic. Forget the amazing location and forget the kind staff. All I really want to focus on is the fantastic taste of the food!

One more thing You can’t go wrong getting the pasta trio. Enjoy your visit!

Lidia's is a must if you live in Kansas City or are just traveling through. The food is always marvelous and the atmosphere is very fun. The service is top notch. And their Sunday brunch is really nice if you like to sample sides and desserts.

The food here is excellent! The menu set up is slightly confusing and it is expensive. It is completely worth it for the food. The service was very polite and efficient.

Food was great, service was lacking.

I came here with a reservation for my anniversary. Neither of us had been to Lidia's but heard great things. We decided to do the unlimited pasta trio, with salad and dessert. At first the service was prompt, but that ended very quickly.

After we finished our salads, we waited close to 20 minutes or more before getting our pasta. Then once we got our pasta, we didn't speak to any server for AT LEAST an hour or more. We did the pasta trio so we could try various types of pasta, and we both liked the ravioli the best. We ran out rather quickly and wanted more of it, but no one came over to us. There were some big parties for prom, and we were definitely neglected. We actually had to flag down someone busing a table in order for us to get more pasta, the dessert menu, and our receipt.

Since the pasta was unlimited, we asked for a box, but for the box to have the ravioli in it since we ran out. Well, I just brought my leftovers to work and what do you know, no ravioli.

Pretty disappointing since we came on such a special night. I really wanted to love this place.

Eating at Lidia's was an overall great experience. The service was efficient. We had a very attentive and helpful server. He was able to explain the menu and recommend tasty wines and the other staff came and checked on us an appropriate amount. I never had to flag someone down, if we needed something.
The food was delicious. Though the pasta was not mind-blowing, it was traditional pasta. I would highly recommend the "Polipo" (Octopus dish) as an appetizer. It made the meal.
The only reason I did not give Lidia's a 5-star review is because when my party entered the restaurant and I went up to the hostess stand to check-in for the reservation, the man at the host stand did not look up from his computer or acknowledge me for at least 45 seconds. Though it was not a welcoming beginning to the evening, the dining service and the food redeemed the experience.

Fabulous wine list along with a delectable menu. The Chef's Pasta Trio Sampler always has great surprises and it's unlimited! The service is friendly and efficient. We were consistently asked how we were doing without it being too much. A solid Italian dining experience.
