Went to er here..was told had indigestion and sent home..3 days later back in er at another hospital. They found the problem and I had emergency surgery which saved my life. St vincent sent me home to die. And for all that my one night stay i was charged over 15 grand. They did nothing. Dr. came in once for a momentnurses were rude..stay away from this hospital. Then afterwards even though i have given them the correct billing address 4 timesthey keep sending bills to my old address. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

The best hospital with the best personal in this planet. Our child was born in this hospital and I have no complaints. I want to thanks all the workers. Thanks and thanks again. Keep the good work.

I had to go to the ER Tuesday and let me tell you. Every single person I encountered was so kind, caring, and helpful. Mike in the ER, my ultrasound tech (Rebecca I think), exports, my wonderful nurses (Tiffany and Anna) PCTs, and Dr. Greene. Genuinely nice, caring people.

Dr. Heekin performs his joint surgeries in this hospital. All the staff that I came in contact with were outstanding. Friendly and would do just about anything to make your stay as easy as possible. The staff in the joint camp were very nice and helpful. I wish my granddaughter would be able to work with individuals like them when she becomes an OT next year. The nurses on each shift in the orthopedic wing were great in explaining drugs I was being given and letting me determine how much pain medication I could take. Also explaining the other medications. I hope I don’t have to ever go back to a hospital again, but if I do I hope a hospital with as good as an experience as I had at St. Vincent’s.

I have been in several different hospitals in different cities and states. At first i did not know what to expect from St Vincent Riverside hospital, i was admited after i went into the emergency dept. I stayed just a few days but the longer i stayed the more i new i was in a good hospital. The nurses were extremely nice and efficient. When i asked a question about my care if the nurse did not know she came back with within a few minutes with the answer. I would not be afraid to return to this hospital. The food was good for hospital.

Had to bring my husband here twice. When I took him to the ER the first time, they took care of him right away and did all the tests quickly. Everyone was very professional and the nurse was sweet and helpful. On the second visit for some imaging tests, I knew he was in good hands. Very easy, quick process and they figured out what was wrong with his kidneys.

My day was half and half. I came here to the ER with about an 8 or 9 worth of pain on a scale of 10. Didn't take too long to be seen, but of course it feels like an eternity when you're in a ton of pain. Doctors were able to assess the issue properly and all tests that were given were quick and easy and all were knowledgeable and comforting.
My few complaints are: I was removed from an exam room and told transport was called. I was left in the hallway for about an hour before a random nurse popped her head around the corner and asked how long I had been waiting. Felt like forever, but finally someone brought me back the the roomwhere I found they had brought another patient by accident?! And to top it all off, the nurse I was with had brought the pain medication barely 5 minutes after I had been sent to some testing rooms. I could have been in no pain while getting checked, but oh well.
So keep in mind this review is under the guise of being in extreme pain, nauseous, tired and crabby, but please work on transport or at least having a few more people check just in case because it's a tiny bit aggravating to be left in a cold hallway with nothing but a thin blanket and no one to ask what is going on.
Other than that, they accurately diagnosed me and the treatment was effective and for that I am very thankful .response / report this review -

Came to this hospital too see my mom. For that she had surgery. The nurses here are rude , inconsiderate, have no bed side manner. Went to the nurses station and was clearly ignored. Asked the nurses for help got nothing but attitude and talk back. I will never recomend this hospital too no one. Its dirty , unorganized, the staff clearly need more training on patient care. I have never seen a nurse roll there eyes at patients visiters quetions or concerns.

Got to the Emergency Department last night, at just after 10pm and was out by 1am. When I arrived at check-in, the waiting area was busy and there were quite a few people (approximately 12-15) already waiting. Surprisingly, I was triaged within minutes of registering and given a short-view EKG (my pain was left side chest) before being reseated in the waiting area, having only to wait 10-15 minutes, before I was called back to the emergency department and given a gurney in the hall. Let me restate, it was quite busy in the emergency department and my issue was not an intimate one and as I would not be changing into a gown, I was NOT troubled by being placed in the hall on a gurney. My place in the hall DID give me occasion to see the 5+ ambulance arrivals that came in to the ER while I was being treated. In those hours at the ER, I received a breathing treatment and x-rays, as well as a dose of pain medication. The area could have used some housekeeping, but seeing how busy they were, the level of untidiness was somewhat understandable. The triage and registration teams were strictly business, but did their jobs with efficiency. I was seen by a PA, who was personable, attentive, humorous and responsive to MY humor, as well as informative and inclusive, showing me my x-rays on the computer and asking my opinion regarding my condition and treatment desires. The x-ray technician was personable and considerate, allowing me to stand for my x-ray when I was in too much discomfort to lay down. The respiratory nurse was patient and attentive. This was a positive experience for a person who absolutely hates hospitals, which is saying ALOT!! Having said all of that, here is the only caveat: IF you are the type of individual who checks into an ER with the idea that it is like checking into a hotel, do NOT come here. This is ER treatment without frills. You won't be waited on, hovered over, coddled or babied. It is not a nursery school and the staff make it apparent that they do not wish to be nannies. I would visit this Emergency Department again, but I hope I won't need to!

Experience to ER was as expected. A referral was given to see an Orthoped for follow up. Do to injury being auto accident related, follow up care was denied by one of your very own practices! Where is the continuity of care when seen in your ER?? I have 30 years healthcare experience and very disappointed in your system or lack there of.

Brought my mother in this evening. It took at least an hour and a half, if not longer, to receive pain mecication, even though she was in obvious distress upon admittance. It actually took flagging down a PA that knew my mother from previous employment to talk to the doctor, since the nurse obviously wasn't going to. I have had 2 children delivered at St. Vincent's, with zero complaints. My mother has been in and out of the hospital, with genuine health problems, for at least 3 years, and this was the least care I can genuinely say I have ever seen displayed by the staff, not the contracted doctors, but the paid staff of the hospital.

Riverside location : Overall all the people are nice and helpful. Much of the hospital is rather old, dated, and worn looking including the beds and rooms, at least in the section we were in. In the prep room just before surgery a white door that enters a room that the doctors and nurses use has a large smudgy grey area where they repeatedly pushed open the dooryou would think someone in a managerial position would notice and have it cleaned/painted. That same room felt like it was operationing at 125% of what it was built for. The prep stalls where a patient gets prepped for surgery were way too close together and although there were, of course, curtains separating, you bumped into people on the other side of the curtain and could hear every word. A little more spacing would be nice. The staff should be trained not to interrupt another staff member about some other issue, as they are discussing things with a patient. That happened a couple of times.
In recuperating from surgery for a few nights, we never had such a noisy experience which detracted from getting rest and healing. I think some hospitals underestimate the noise factor. Nurses and aids would consult and chat for extended periods in the hallway, sometimes loud laughter, the public address was too busy and too loudeven warning about a fire alarm 2 blocks away in a parking garage and "grey" alert about a patient missing from his ward area -- do patients need to hear that loud PA and be bothered by it?
My wife had to use a walker after surgery. Because of the size and arrangement of the bathroom, it was a trick to maneuver in front of the raised toilet in front of the shower.getting between the corner of the shower and the supporting leg of the raised toilet seat. Maybe the tricky maunevering is part of the therapy.
Overall the rooms are a time travel trip to the 60's.response / report this review
