HCA as company has been on the decline eve since they focused on money over patient care and caring about employees. This company is about robbery. They don't care about anything but are about making money. The employees are unprofessional and rude. They took my money and transferred it to another company without my knowledge. Some of the employees don't even care about patient care. They would bill you crazy amount for something that doesn't cost much.
i currently have a loved one in this hospital, after reading these reviews all my fears are confirmed about the care they are receiving. i couldn't believe a nurse would complain in front of a patient about being over worked and short staffed, until it happened again. i can not rate the level of professionalism here because i have yet to experience any professionalism. my lo was making good post op progress and is now back to day one due to the laziness of the nursing staff. if it were possible to transport my lo at this point i would, if you are reading this researching hospitals, especially for cardiac care, PLEASE KEEP SEARCHING, i would never bring another family member to this place. We have had serious dietary issues ignored for days, the wrong medications administered, contradictory information given from medical professionals, had ot/pt treatments/ requests skipped for days, and like so many other reviewers have stated we no longer feel safe leaving our loved one here unattended, yet they continue to ask family members to leave. it seems like every time we leave him for a few hours we arrive to hear about more complications that arose over night. If you are researching hospitals for a scheduled surgery please keep looking.
My father had heart disease. We were there for about 3 werks. During this time everyone we came in contact with was excellent! Great customer service! Very helpful and personal. I am thankful for all at Florida Regional Hospital.
I delivered my daughter at North Florida regional medical Center two months ago. Although I wasn't sure what to expect my first time delivering, I had a great experience made possible by friendly, kind, and very helpful nurses. Everyone was very caring and took any opportunity to assist and answer any questions we had. I recommend North Florida regional medical center to everyone that I speak with.
My 99 year old mother-in-law was admitted to NFRMC on November 11, 2017 via the Emergency Room and was subsequently placed in the ICU.
My wife (patients's daughter) and I and three adult grandchildren were present throughout the hospital stay and could not be more pleased with the compassionate and skilled care she received. It was unequivocally outstanding! The nurses of the ICU could not have been more caring, compassionate and professional. It was quite evident that superior patient care was their constant goal which they routinely exceeded. Though our beloved mother, mother-in-law and grandmother passed away on November 13, she did so peacefully while being attended to by an outstanding staff of Doctors, Specialist and in particular the ICU Nurses. Justin, the ICU nurse on duty when our loved one "passed" was was simply outstanding in keeping us informed of what to expect and caring for our loved one during her final hours. The compassionate and professional care our loved one received assured a peaceful "passing" and significantly diminished the pain of our loss.
I almost died in this hospital of pneumonia, I came in at 2pm because I was coughing and couldn't breathe, they sent me home said I had cold it would pass. I was back there at midnight couldn't breathe another er doc tells me you have pneumonia I don't know why they sent you home in the first place , they admitted me for 7 days, the first night there was hell, they kept just pumping me with morphine for pain. I was so messed up , I kept telling them I was hurting and the morphine was making me worse , I was puking and dry heaving, the next day a new doc comes in orders me something else , I immediately started feeling better. The nurses here are horid and just down right mean. They act like they have no time for you. I seriously thought about getting a lawyer after I got out because of the way they treated me and sent me home and then me coming back.
Cancer diagnosis for my wife, her Spleen was tripled in size and it is Lymphoma with Spleen death. Her Team of Dr's planned her care and timeline out, AFTER talking to HER MAIN Dr. and he also heads the ward. A fill-in weekend Dr. comes in and completely disregards everything that was done, took IV pain meds away to low dose pills. There is a mass in her stomach, if food, nutrients and minerals aren't breaking down why would a pill? I feel like subjecting this Dr. to the kind of pain she is in. One star or else you can't post. I didn't want to leave any!
The care is good, But the business office needs to have better review of its paperwork. I had a bill from my aunt who passed. I send it to the address on the statement- PO Box 740711- guess what its wrong. Because the bill was older we were placed for collection. And then they couldnt talk to me.
This is certainly not acceptable
My 86 year old MIL has been in this hospital for almost four weeks and we thought the staff was taking fairly good care of her. Apparently that was not the case! On several occasions I asked her nurse if she would contact someone from Wound Care because she was complaining about painful areas on her backside. I was told they were monitoring them and that if they became open sores they would have Wound Care come look at them and dress those areas. I also asked if they could get a special mattress like the one she had when she was in the ICU to prevent bedsores. I was told they didn't have those in their regular rooms.
My daughter, who is an RN at another hospital in town, went to visit her grandma after her own 12 hour night shift, and when she arrived she found her grandma uncovered asleep laying on the bedpan. She woke her up and her grandma asked if she could help her get off of the bedpan. My daughter went to get a tech for help and the tech wasn't even aware that she was on a bedpanwhich means she had been on there for more than 45 minutes at this point. We don't know how long she was on there before the shift change.
When she helped the tech remove the bedpan she noticed a large, possibly two inch, open wound on her right shoulder. Obviously no one has been treating this for a while!
I don't usually write reviews online, but this isn't the first time we have had a bad experience with this hospital.
We wondered why my MIL was wanting someone to stay with her around the clock and found out it was because she was not treated well the last time she had been admitted here. My brother-in-law was on the phone with her and she feel asleep and neglected to hang up the phone. So when the nurse came into the room, which was a semi-private, and was being very rude and raising her voice at both patients, he heard her.
This is not acceptable! If you want good care, I'd suggest going somewhere else!
It seems to me that everyone at the hospital conspired to make my bill as high as possible. A respiratory therapist came in, when there is nothing wrong with my lungs. They had me go through every type of imaging (xray, CT, US), saving the only one that would be diagnostic for last. Although it takes only 10 minutes and I was there at 6 am, they lagged with excuses all day and then wanted me to stay overnight to get the test the next day. This, although it seemed to me that the hospital was strangely empty of patients. My reasons for needing to get home were discounted (caring for animals, work), and they would not let me just come back the next day. Furthermore, I was in a room with a another patient who groaned in pain the entire time, but the hospital had some sort of issue with her and wouldn't help her.
ER staff was completely unprofessional, doctors included. Due to the severity of our emergency, several doctors & nurses were involved in this terribly unpleasant visit. They flat out lied to us on more than one occasion, they're judgmental, insincere & very condescending.
The pathology lab has, for over a month and a half delayed completing and sending out lab tests for many patients. All three times I have had either a biopsy test, a surgical removal to check if edges were clear test, and now genome testing have been repeatedly delayed for weeks. My gnome test never even got sent out and no one noticed until the day before my appointment. Now I have to wait 3 more weeks. It's bad enough to have cancer, it's worse not to be TIMELY given important so the right treatment can be started.
Because of North Florida's apparent inability to get lab testing performed or even sent out to somewhere else, I have had information and valuable treatment delayed by over a month! This is an unprofessional, uncaring way to treat patients. Not a single explanation, acknowledgment of the problems have come from North Florida, only from the medical oncologist who has had to take the brunt of North Florida's poor service and accountability. I am told that many patients have suffered this same situation.
Going to Shands next time.
Shortest ER WAIT TIME MY ASS!!! I came into this ER 2 HOURS AGO AND HAVE NOT BEEN SEEN BY ONE NURSE OR ONE DAMN DOCTOR..THIS HOSPITAL SUCKS. I will never ever come to this damn hospital again.gotta damn near dead to get some help from this damn place
I came here for mental health treatment, which went well in comparison to Meridian Behavioral Health. I tried to voluntarily check myself in, but for some reason they put involuntary. I still have to fix that, which isn't going to be that fun to do.
The actual stay was pleasant for me, but I needed to find out I had a safe place to go in case anything happened. I didn't want to be scared to be admitted so I went voluntarily for my own reasons, which I believe is very different than if someone admits you. Other people were having problems, but personally, I wasn't treated poorly.
Considering where mental health was in human history, it seems like a large improvement. They didn't try to overmedicate me, and I got good staff that treated me with respect. I'd go to North Florida Regional over Meridian Behavioral Health any day of the week.
I also went here for what I thought may have been a broken nose. My ER visit was fast. They took care of everything quickly, and my bills were dramatically reduced based on my income and no insurance.
I had surgery and stayed in the hospital for two days and two nights. This was my first surgery, I did not know what to expect, staff made as comfortable as possible and Dr. Harris was great along with all the staff that I came in contact with. I am delighted to give the hospital 5 stars because it is well deserved.
