Nice that it is right on the beach, room was pretty clean, sucked that the coffee pot had two moldy used filters in the basket and we didn't get the room we requested even tho it was available. Pillows were chunky foam. Desk clerk was polite.

The rooms had a mildew smell, not sure where that was coming from, I think the air conditioner? The room also looked like it hadn't been swept in a while. Sheets were dirty, shower had mildew on the tile Overall needed a really good cleaning!!! Only thing good was it was on the beach & the staff was very friendly.

When we first checked in we were giving a room that was already occupied. After waiting an hour, we checked into a room that was filthy!!! The room smelled like urine and the sheets and towels were Nasty. The pillow cases had mascara on them and the towels looked like someone had cleaned there shoes with them!! The camode has not been cleaned and the plumbing Sang when u turned the water on . We immediately checked out and had to go and find another room for the night!! The room was too nasty to lay down in the bed! We will not be back!! We will not recommend this property to anyone! This place should be condemned!

A Place We Have Been Coming to For Years. .
Unfortunately, Our Remote control to the TV wouldn't Work and Neither Would the next few remotes the Staff Offered. .so, We put it on the News Channel and Went to Sleep.
Following Morning We Moved to an Oveanfront Room and Loved Our Visit to the Beach. ..response / report this review -

Excellent service, superior location, well-priced and despite some reviews to the contrary, a very clean room. The pool was just fine for a refreshing dip after the beach. Parking was fine and plenty of dining within a short walk.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, and it was a mediocre experience. The rooms were clean overall and the beach was beautiful, however there were some downfalls. The "oceanview/front" rooms did not offer a private balcony or even really a great view of the ocean, which was a big bummer for me as I like to enjoy a quiet morning out there and couldn't as neighbors were walking down the hallway all the time. We also were planning on taking advantage of the breakfast but it was not great, to say the least. Eggs poured from a bag, maybe some hot food (if you got there in time), and limited cold/bland options for anything else. We did like the central location!

The service was great and the room was really clean and just very relaxing. The bed was super comfortable and the tv was a nice size too! The only bad thing was they had some unrelenting mosquitos! Couldn't relax outside or on the beach.

Checked in and immediately back out after going into my assigned room. The only thing I saw that it had going for it was ocean front. I was willing to relocate my vacation and drive to the beach to avoid the dark, musty, rusty, box of a room that had an outdoor entry with a lock that seemed sketchy to say it nicely. Definitely a disappointing way to start my vacation!

The rooms were clean. They had a slight damp odor to them which is to be expected on the beach. The staff were all courteous. It's a perfect location for what we needed for the weekend, The Windjammer next door, The Dinghy across the street and Acme Lowcountry Kitchen a block away. We will stay here again.

If you are looking for a low cost place on the beach it's hard to beat this place. Unlike some other rooms, our room was very musty smelling. They have done some upgrades and repainted, but still could use some work. Parking is a pain, some of the front desk clerks aren't very nice. Maintenance guys were helpful and nice. Towel rack falling off the wall and most towels were grey. Most times the eggs they had for breakfast were gone when I tried to get some. Just couldn't get over the smell of the room.

Not a bad hotel on the IOP. The rooms are a little damp, but it's right by the ocean! They don't always get breakfast out on time. The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff is amazing! They also accommodate pets. I'd recommend this place for a family or couples wanting to stay near the beach.
