Extremely great staff and room furnishings were amazing. The bellhops were fantastic! The coconut cake was delicious. The Babymoon experience could be improved. Our room was not ready when we arrived, almost an hour late. When we were able to check in nothing was said or provided to us based on our Babymoon experience and all the goodies we should receive and when. We did not receive our breakfast vouchers, nor did we receive chocolate covered strawberries. When I went to call and ask about them. They brought up both the cake (which was for turn down service) and the strawberries. I had to ask the next morning about our breakfast vouchers. I also realized we never received our sparking cider that should have come with the coconut cake. It was marketed well on the website, but the execution was very poor. In hindsight, I wish I would have talked to the manager about this as it was a special weekend for us in a new city, and we paid a lot for the experience that was not delivered.

The Peninsular Grill did not live up to expectations. The food was good but not great. My wife came down with a case of diarrhea as a result of the meal she ate there. Everything was a bit pricy as well. Service was good and ambiance was good.

Dined at the Peninsula Grill. The food was excellent as was the service. I don't live coconut, so didn't get the cake and had to hear about that from other people. But instead got the toffee ice cream sundae and was extremely happy about the choice. Will definitely suggest to others.

The business office turned a very pleasant stay into an experience that will take us some time to want to return to Planters Inn.
Their credit card processor was down the day we made our reservation in July 2017 so they ran the charge manually, then later ran the same charge again. We contacted Capital One and they credited us. We had a wonderful stay in September with no complaints at all with the accommodations, paid the balance at checkout. When we received our credit card statement, in addition to the paid balance, we had again been charged the original payment. We have spent 4 weeks calling, waiting return calls, being promised a refund, then told we had been given a refund but it would take 7 - 10 days to process. Today was the 13th business day from the date they gave us, 10/15 as processed day, but no credit they cheerfully told us we should have the credit by the end of the week as it was actually 10/17 before credit was processed 5 min for the original charge to get posted to our credit card as a payment and 3 months for us to get our credit for the overcharge. I hope you all check your credit card statement thoroughly as we lost $300+ if we had not checked and continued to pursue this. Today we had a 3 way call with Inn and Capital One Visa and they were told the credit had not been posted to our account. They just continue to say they have credited us. Very unhappy. Will never stay there again.

Dinner was wonderful. Dined outside. Would go again and highly recommend. We did not stay here but looked like a good prospect for future trip. One drink in bar also which would be worth another visit.

Perfect location for walking around and exploring historic Charleston. We were happy to leave our car with valet the entire weekend and not have to worry about navigating the busy streets. The Planter's Inn is in a magnificently maintained historic building. The bed was comfortable. The room, as well as the rest of the hotel, was impeccably clean. Zero complaints about our stay. Special thanks to Matt in guest services, never got to meet him but he was extremely helpful in setting up my last minute reservation over the phone.

The location is fabulous, service impeccable, and the room is gorgeous. We got the room last minute and didn't have a lot of information about it so I was excited to see the suite is nothing like a traditional hotel room but comfortable and upscale and in the heart of the downtown area. We could easily access the waterfront, the markets and shops. Wonderful place to stay!

Quiet retreat with historical charm. Beautiful grounds to explore or sit for a spell. The turn down service before bed welcomes you to a comfy bed, treats from the chef, and liw volume jazz music. Pure luxury. What's missing? A few modern day amenities such as refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers in the room. It wasn't a problem for our trip but if you like to save $ by having some of your own food or reheating leftovers, this is not for you.

Planters Inn is the nicest hotel in Charleston. Their new addition has magnificent rooms. We were fortunate to stay in room 315 which was over 1,400 square feet of casual elegance. The staff are very professional, attentive and friendly. Their dining room, the Peninsula Grill is the best restaurant in Charleston. Don't miss the coconut cake. We will always consider Planters Inn as our first choice when visiting Charleston.

Stayed up in a suite. 1 night due to tvs not working. VERY pretty quiet. FANTASTIC staff. Excellent bathroom 5 stars. We would have stayed a few nights however Upon walking in Main tv would not turn on during our entire stay (my mans work is dccouldnt watch cnn pm or am) bedroom tv kept turning off too. We ended our romantic stay after one night.

The Peninsula Grill is a place for special celebrations. We brought our dad there for his 80th birthday and surprised him with my sister who lives in the Northeast. The staff set the table for 5, then rushed in when she arrived and set the sixth setting while they hugged. The way they serve each guest at the same time is exciting and dramatic. The food is exceptional and we'll prepared. Portions are generous, which isn't typical for a restaurant of this caliber. They are famous for their coconut cake. Get it. It's unreal.

We spent a night at the French Quarter Inn while traveling to Florida. It was very nice but didn't quite live up to the expectations that the hotel's reviews created. Maybe we were expecting too much. The hotel didn't quite seem prepared.
